The Keg Room
The Keg Room is an upscale casual American-Irish pub and restaurant. Rather than a traditional Irish sports bar look, The Keg Room has gone with a gorgeous and ornate Celtic look that is both bright and elegant without being stuffy. The Keg Room boasts one of the longest bars (over 100ft.) in New York City, which is especially impressive when one considers just how many bars there are in the United State's largest metropolis.
The Keg Room offers two different approaches to its dinner service. The first is an a la carté option that lets diners order off of a menu as they normally would. The second way to dine here is through one of the three prix fixe menu selections. These are for large groups of 20 or more and have made The Keg Room one of the most popular destinations for private parties and events.
The shrimp starter had the most awful sauce, the salad had drowned in it. We ordered two, got one. Noise was so loud that the waitress couldn’t hear us. No drinks arrived until after starter. As soon as missed starter arrived, so did main course. Steak was cold and inedible. We left almost all of it but the male who collected our plates, did not question this. The next table was encroaching on us which made making a complaint difficult, plus no one could hear anything. It was our last night in the City and we had eaten well up until this point. We had food from a street vendor that was considerably better than this.
Greeting as you walk in was great took about 10 minutes to get a beer as no menu.
When ordering food appetisers came out same time as meal so wasn’t happy and all I got was enjoy your meal the food as good not great it all felt very rushed for $85
Friendly and welcoming! It was a great spot to hit before a concert at MSG. Food was delicious!
Service was great – very friendly. Nachos are usually “just nachos” but these were particularly good – very fresh, everything about them was great. Flatbread also great. Careful with your seating, though: we had reservations timed for a Yankees game and were seated tucked into a corner where it was great for conversation, but not-so-great for seeing the game. When you’re shown you table, just look around before you commit…
Good place for a quick bite with good food and service.
Quality meat and very good service, price correct,
Just about ok
Excellent place for lunch or especially to watch any game on their many TV’s. Food was delicious I had the apple salad with grilled chicken, which had a Lot of perfectly grilled chicken and was perfectly dressed. My friend had a delicious burger.
The only thing that could have been better was our waiter. Not many patrons in this huge restaurant, yet flagging him down for anything was really a job! I arrived first and ordered a drink and water, he brought just the drink and at the same time sat my guest who had just arrived. He left without taking her drink order and we didn’t see him again for over 10 min. When I finally got his attention we ordered her drink and he started to turn away. He was annoyed when I called him back so we could put in our order. (Weekday lunch...we need to go back to work eventually)
He brought her drink finally and I asked again for water for both of us. Food arrives, we ask for ketchup. He finally brings back 1 water, I get up and get ketchup from another table myself. Never comes back to see if we wanted another drink or anything. We ask for a check and when he brings it he flashes a big smile and gives us a “Have a nice day” Really?
I would go back for lunch or dinner though.
Great food, fast service...we will definitely be coming back during our next visit to NY!
The food was not very good. The steak salad and the steak was like eating cardboard. The calamari and it had no seasoning and was tough. The fried chicken sandwich was cooked in burnt oil and you could taste the oil with every bite. There are plenty of other options in the mid-town area.
The waitress was nasty. Mean. I changed my order and she did not listen and then was defensive. Food was at best average.
Horrible service and the owner was SUPER RUDE. We couldn’t get tap water for 30 minutes and when it finally came it was hot and they didn’t have ice. Then the owner argumented that we had great service and had to pay 18% gratuity. Very understaffed at peak hour.
