I feel like everything is $2-4 too expensive, but it is a hotel restaurant in a prime downtown location. I like the beet and salmon salad. My colleague loves the French fries. Open kitchen is a nice touch. Food always looks and tastes great.
We are three couples who go out several times per year for a nice dinner. This time we chose The Keep. We requested and received a round table in a quiet area, and that’s what we got - perfect. We thought the ambiance and open kitchen format were unusual, but in a good way. Our waiter was exceptionally knowledgeable about The Keep’s selection of fine bourbons, and that was great for the bourbon drinkers in our party. He also knew the menu and gladly accommodated special requests. We all enjoyed our dinners, although my wife wasn’t enthusiastic about the herby green topping on her chicken. We will definitely return to The Keep.
We went here on a whim after not being able to find parking at our regular brunch establishment. The service was horrible. We waited an hour for eggs and worse, everyone who came in after us was long gone. The food was lukewarm while it sat waiting for us. Checks were wrong and the server argued with my mother about getting her card to run it before bringing her the corrected new receipt. We do brunch every Sunday and we won’t EVER come back here or recommend this place. Sad because it was very cute and the menu looked great.
Onion soup was one of the best I have had. Fabulous.
Burger also was quality.
It was good for a date night. They recently changed their menu and we were very disappointed with the scallops. The presentation was nice and the scallops were cooked well, the side that came with them was very disappointing. Wish they didn’t get rid of the risotto.
Beautiful casual French bistro with New Orleans twist. Service was intimate and the food was delicious!
The service was absolutely OUTSTANDING, and the cocktails were delicious. But we did not enjoy the food very much at all, and felt sad about having spent the amount we did on food that wasn't great. It was lovely being inside the LaVeque Tower, though, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was pretty perfect.
Excellent food and service
Great new upscale addition to downtown. Sunset views behind the river and city were nice. Cocktails were great (we had the Aperol spritz and the pear martini - both delicious, pear martini was particularly unique and excellent). The wine list was a little limited, but still plenty to appeal to any palate and appeared to be well-curated. Food was really good - we had soup, tuna tartare, seared chicken, and steak frites - all was tasty, the fries with my steak and the accompanying aioli were my favorite. A generously sized, free dessert for our anniversary (the peach skillet pie, which was also excellent). Our server (Seth) was very attentive, paced the evening well, but also not in the way at all. Pricey, but comparable to other high-end places in the city. Beautiful lounge area that would be nice for a happy hour or post-theater cocktail. Easy walking distance to both the Palace and Ohio Theaters (we saw Dear Evan Hansen following dinner). Highly recommend!
Beautiful restaurant, but the french onion soup tasted as if they used sugar instead of salt. there was not even a hint of beef flavoring. we sent it back only to get it replaced with italian wedding soup which was equally awful. How do you mess up soup? They were very gracious at taking off some money on the bill, but it was just okay not great and i won't hurry back to the restaurant. Sad, because the place is really lovely.
It was nice the setting and ambiance. I only had small plate appetizers they were oK. Did not get chance to try any entrees
The Keep is a quiet respite in the middle of a busy city. It is in a medium size space and the tables are well spaced to allow for quiet conversation. The service was quick and quietly attentive and never rushed. When my ice tea was low a new glass appeared without a request. I had the salmon and roasted beet salad and it was delicious. The only draw back is parking. The garage for the building fills early so spaces are hard to find. It would be an asset if they included a map of other nearby garages on their website.
I ordered beef cheek. It came out cold. They reheated it, but it still didn't have any flavor.
This was a great place to visit for my birthday. I would recommend it to anyone! The beignets for phenomenal!
The Keep was absolutely fine. I came here with 3 others and everyone’s food was good - nothing special, but good. The decor, service, and ambiance are all excellent. We did an after dinner drink in the bar and that was very nice - well decorated with interesting views of the hotel lobby
Appetizers and entrees were incredible. Smoked Cherry Old Fashioned was delicious, though slightly overpriced. Desserts were good, but not as good as the rest for the price.
The food was excessively salted. The dessert offerings were mostly bizarre. The waiter poured wine in a water glass.
We ordered the seafood tower and it was kind of a joke. The oysters were small and the shrimp was so old they were dry. Server was nice but he never came back to refill our water, until we asked.
We’d maybe go back again, but wouldn’t order the seafood as an app. It’s a trap.
Delicious food albeit a bit overpriced. Recommend the scallops and pork chops (that is what we had). Mussels were okay - small in size for the price paid.
Soup of the night was wonderful nor were we disappointed with anything that followed. But what made our evening was the amazing staff
Amazing new octopus appetizer. Always a great experience.
While I'm aware that the "times are changing," the offhand manner and ubiquitous tattoos of the wait staff is too off-putting in a establishment reaching for a higher level of customer experience--particularly at this price point. I understand the temptation to "be contemporary" but in the end, I believe that more formality will lead to greater success and duration in the business.
With the first appetizer there was a hair in it. We were seated next to a window without shades & the heat was awful .. finally changed tables. When they knew there was a problem with a/c in that area & still seated us there is beyond me. When actual bill came it was one price then the one needing signed was 20.00 more. Charged twice on my credit card. Two calls to manager & not resolved. Overall very disappointed.
Good food, well presented. Friendly and helpful staff. Terrific experience.
We have been really enjoying dinner at The Keep. The ambiance is great and people clearly are enjoying the food, as we do. We had dinner there this past weekend, following a cocktail in the bar, which should not be missed. Overall, the staff are very welcoming and fun. We especially enjoy Hannah, who has waited on us during several of our visits. The oysters are incredibly fresh and there is always a good and varying selection to try. The locally raised Wagyu strip is delicious as is the scallop dish with roasted corn. We like the fact that the menu changes relatively often, and there is a range of fish, beef, and other delicious choices. The ambiance is lively, and we especially enjoy the open kitchen. Overall, just a great vibe--it's more than just the food, which is superb---it's the total experience.
Phenomenal! Great upscale restaurant for special occasion. Nice touch that manager stopped by to inquire how they did. Classic charm.
The food was delicious in a classy atmosphere. The service was outstanding and the drinks were perfect...try The General
Definitely recommend for a special occasion!
We came into Columbus and stayed at the Hotel LeVeque. We happened to be staying during restaurant week so they had a special menu. The tomahawk pork was delicious and the desserts were amazing. It has a cool throwback feel with a good selection craft cocktails. We would definitely stay at LeVeque and hang at the Keep again.
Just an Okay dining experience. Ambiance leaves much to be desired; noisy, too brightly lit, and little warmth. Food quality was uneven—the Brussel sprout appetizer was thoroughly mediocre, the steak entree was much better, good flavor and cooked properly. Dessert was again uneven; my wife’s chocolate brownie was delicious, my strawberry shortcake decidedly less so. While the cocktails were very well done, they are overpriced at $15 for a call brand bourbon Old-fashioned. Servers were adequate though not overwhelmingly friendly. The casual nature of the venue was reflected in both the dress of the customers (lots of shorts and sandals) and even the jeans-dressed hostess. If you’re expecting a downtown fine-dining experience (with all that usually implies), you can do better than The Keep
From the appetizers to the entrees, everything was amazing. This was our first time at the restaurant and our party of four all commented that we will return. A very pleasant surprise indeed.
Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere.
Great restaurant! Would definitely reccomend for restaurant week. The watermelon salad was amazing as well as the pork.
Inviting ambiance, good food and lovely waitress. We came from restaurant week expecting to order the prix fix dinner. Two of us ordered off the menu- watermelon salad and brussel sprouts appetizer and the salmon. All were delicious. Tow of us ordered the prix fix selection which was also very good. We'll definitely come again.
Great food! Quiet and easy to converse with friends
I had salmon; deliciosa! All the entrees looked interesting with not the usual preparations. Our dinner was excellent and my instinct is everything on the menu is really good and expertly put together.
This was by far an excellent choice for my mothers birthday brunch she’s very hard to please when it comes to food she doesn’t eat pork so there were multiple food choices and everything was great the quality of the food was excellent and the prices were also great can’t wait to go again and again
The food was nothing special at all. Very disappointed but they did make it right, and the space is beautiful. I'd recommend the bar/cocktails but not the food. Thanks
The food was just OK. Great ambiance & service but pricey considering the food was just meh.
We went before fireworks on July 3rd. Food & drinks were great. Service was a little bit slow.
