The Kasbah Lounge - Sacramento
Kasbah Lounge in Sacramento, California offers a menu that is intended to promote socializing and sharing. Spices and flavors of the dishes come mainly from the Middle East and North Africa. Kasbah Lounge offers many traditional meals, while also showing creativity in more innovative options. There are weekly specials, as well as homemade desserts, too.
Share small plates around the table for a unique experience. Some options include falafel, chili chicken wings, tabbouleh, grilled flatbread and stuffed dates. Kasbah Lounge also provides many larger entrées for those who prefer them. Try the chicken shawarma with hummus, vegetable kabobs or kefa tagine.
We love the unusual atmosphere, especially lounging on the divan, and the yummy vegan options.
My wife and I have been there three times. Each time was excellent. There isn’t a better meal in Sacramento
No belly dancing. Dirty. Food was ok. They asked during the reservation process if it was for a birthday, which it was, however, no mention of it when we arrived. Also, the seating was awkward; we sat with 2 couples facing us while we ate as they sat against the wall. Not pleasant.
Very good food. Middle eastern flavors. Generous portions. Great value.
I arrived early due to Paratransit. I was seated at a table to accommodate my wheelchair. The waitress accidentally spilled ice water over me and the table. It was quickly wiped up, but I was still wet. I ordered hummus and pita bread. It was very good. The pita bread was fresh and warm. My friend arrived. We ordered from the “Dine in Sacramento “ menu. I ordered the Shakriyeh - a tangy yogurt broth from sheep’s milk made with meatballs, chickpeas, and toasted almonds. Topped with herbs. For my entree grilled and marinated lamb chops drizzled with a pomegranate honey served with lamb and beef rice “stuffing” and Lebanese yogurt. Dessert consisted of a Almond Brioche - almond, honey & orange blossom in phyllo pastry. The restaurant looks like it had been refurbished and they have an outside area for those who enjoy a hookah smoke. They are a little difficult to find, but they are across from the Tapa the World restaurant.
Very unique food that is prepared very well. Also an excellent drink menu.
took a chance at a new restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised at the flavors and portions of the 3 course meal. Middle eastern flavors with vegan and meat options. We want to go back and try other dishes soon.
Great food and ambience. Loved most dishes with surprising exception of the baklava which was very dry. We brought our own wine which worked for us too
I brought members of my foodie group to enjoy the dine downtown menu. A few started with cocktails and were impressed with the size of the drinks. The soups were full of flavor and filling. The lamb entree was so very tender and the flatbread option was huge. Both desserts were beautifully presented and as tasty as they looked. I particularly like the nut pastry which was like baklava. I was the only member to have eaten here before, but now there are 6 more fans.
We’ve enjoyed coming here for date nights for almost 3 years. The food is great and they have enough options for my partner who is vegan. The person who sat us this time was a bit more abrupt than I prefer but otherwise great service as always.
Food was great! Thank you
Very overrated. Outside of ambience food was bland and not cooked well at all. Little to no flavor and rubbery kebabs which made the meal feel rebates or microwaved
I suggested Kasbah lounge to my colleagues as a year end potluck. We were 14 of them and each and everyone absolutely fell in love with food and ambience. I took the lunch special menu , with Harira soup, Chicken Kebob and Kunfeh. the texture and taste was amazing tangy and juicy as I like it to be.
Love this place, great service, delicious food and drinks. The lighting and decorations make it a cultural gem in Sacramento.
We had an amazing time! Very attentive servers, and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. We did hookah on he patio after dinner, and the great service continued. The right combination of impress, fun, and chill. This fits for so many occasions! I will definitely recommend to friends.
Amazing place. Service was tremendous and the food was even better. Great place to go
Large portions, great taste on all dishes ordered, but the service was poor. I realize that we had a large party, but we had to replenish our own waters various times and a 20% gratuity was included. WAY too much for the level of service we received. Will come back for the food and with a party size smaller so we don't get auto tip included.
Food was delicious. Superb!
The Lamb kabobs and cocktails were excellent! The chicken kabobs and mixed appetitive plate were also very good. The setting is very casual and a bit bohemian. Nice evening.
great food and good service. drinks were great too!
The food service and atmosphere is awesome. It’s dark and warm, with delicious foods and the service was amazing- I think each server came over to talk to us, as well as the owner. Suggestions were made based on our food preferences with care and considerations. Special cocktails were made. I just really love coming here.
Very tasty food!
Great spices and properly cooked!
The food was phenomenal as always
We went to the Kasbah for my birthday and the staff made my day beyond special and the food was amazing!!
Food and wine was very good. Service very friendly.
I took a large group for my birthday and tend to do a lot of group dinners.
The food was tasty but the service was spotty. Most of the time the drinks ordered never came and then the night was almost done. It was very hard to get anyone’s attention.
No one offered dessert menu.
The experience would have been better if the waitress checked on us more frequently. We had to wait quite awhile to put in drink orders and appetizer orders.
So good! One of the best places to eat in Sacramento!
I love this place. The food. The staff. The ambiance. Perfection
We enjoyed everything, from appetizers to dessert. The chi chi al fuego was a huge hit as was the lentil soup and baklava. Ready to go back!
Great food and spices! Loved the flavor and ambiance. Our server was so sweet and made it a perfect birthday dinner.
Go for happy hour
Delicious vegan options, great atmosphere.
Delicious Mediterranean food that's flavored with herbs and spices, plus a very decorative setting. And the price is surprisingly affordable - we expected to pay more. The one waitress was busy training a new server so our service was on the slow side.
I love this place! The happy hour is amazing☺️ Be sure to try the fried chicken peas... We finally tried the beef shawarma.. So tender and delicious. The best hummus ever. I love the atmosphere. The owner is so nice! Great place to hang out and relax w great food!
I really like Kasbah, but unfortunately this experience left me disappointed. The food was great, but the service was really unacceptable. Having served for years, I try to be understanding and accommodating, as I know things can get overwhelming and crazy, but being rude isn’t necessary.
We decided as a group to share plates and some of the items were forgotten, no big deal, so we ended up ordering one more dish. We were all finished and the wait for the last dish was really long. After asking our waitress if she’d put it in, she explained it would be a few more minutes. At that point, they’d cleared all of our other plates and it really wasn’t worth an additional wait. We asked if we could just cancel it (although I think she might have forgotten to put it in) and that’s when her irritation started. She did cancel it and came right back and silently threw a check on the table, pretty much abruptly ending our experience. It happened to be my birthday (which is why I brought a party of 9) and my mom explained that there was a dessert in the back. The waitress came back with the box and silently set it on the table. She ran the credit card and put that down. Not a mention of thank you and more of a feeling of “get the hell out”.
There are too many great restaurants that offer great food and service, so despite the good food, I won’t be back.
Completely underwhelming. Food was lacking flavor, service was too relaxed had to ask for water, tea refill and pita bread twice after the server said he was going to bring it by. It was not busy at all. Watched people walk out due to no host staff. Ambiance was very dark, reason why you ask??? The overall state of the restaurant is in complete disrepair. Very disheveled, unorganized and mismanaged. This place has a lot of potential but the owners need to put some $$$ into redecorating and supporting a manager to keep it clean and up to date.
Service was prompt and food was excellent, has a great Ambiance to it a little on the dark side lighting wise but it's very cozy.
The pita chicken shawarma and chicken wings were delicious, especially the latter. I had never been to Kasbah, but I will definitely be going back.
Great place for a vegan meal as they offer delicious vegan burgers, gyros and appetizers.
