   On arrival we were told the kitchen had run out of gas and reduced menu was in operation (very very reduced). We were told a team member had tried to contact people who had booked, but we were not contacted. We were brought the drinks we ordered and the reduced menu. We were, to be fair, asked if we still wanted to eat or not, once we had seen the menu. Our problem was it was 7.15 pm on a Sunday in an area we did not know and our first attempts at finding dinner turned up lots of places that either did not open Sunday evening at all or finished at 8. The staff were very friendly and the food was good, but not the anticipation we had. We had wanted seafood as we live miles from the coast and saw an opportunity for fresh local produce. I think this disappointment did make us feel a bit down on the place and the emptiness due to those who were calledcancelling destroyed any chance of an atmosphere. Our prawn cocktail and buffalo chicken strips were exactly as the should be and plentiful. A fish and chips with garden peas was large, fresh and tasty. My pulled pork burger was in fact just pulled pork in a bun, not a burger with a pulled pork topping as I notmally find. I guess they could not cook the burger, but could reheat the pork. However there was a lot of it and it could not be faulted for flavour. £1.50 additional fee for a single slice of prepacked sliced cheese draped over the top of the pork and flashed grilled was a little steep. Drinks were good and service was attentive without being over done. I am sure that on a summer evening with a fully functioning kitchen this would have been a very different experience.

   Staff apologised for limited menu due to energy problems. Nonetheless, the food was cooked well, hot & well presented. We decided to have a take home for our desert & very nice it was too! We will be back again soon Dorothy & Jim

   What a lovely pub, great menu too We called in mid week and way out of season. We received an extremely warm welcome and were made to feel at home straight away I thought a good choice of typical pub food and chose a veggie curry, my wife had the chicken curry which we both really enjoyed Overall a lovely pub that we will be returning to.

   Excellent food and service in a real pub with good beer and staff. Only drawback was one yapping mongrel in the other bar.

   Noise level was energetic because it was a Shanty Monday. They were very good. Meal was lovely. Staff amazing. Highly recommend.

   Authentic Norfolk pub, plenty of tables. Menu offered a fairly comprehensive selection of dishes but the steak and ale pie was unavailable. The advertised catch of the day was salmon but when I queried this with a member of the cooking staff they admitted that salmon wasn’t caught locally!

   Starter arrived after our main , ribs were awful Staff were friendly enough, play area for kids fantastic

   Love it here but it’s got pricey plus not a fan of them adding service charge on the bill. I know they would take it off but the service is good but would like to choose the amount I give as money is tight. 4 people mains and puddings two drinks each 180.00 seems a lot only pizzas and fish and chips ordered plus puddings But will go back because I love the pizzas but not as often .

    The staff at the jolly sailor’s were friendly , polite and helpful the food was excellent and good value. I’ve been to the pub three times in the past ten years and it’s always been a pleasure to visit. I’ll definitely be back in the future.
