Phoned ahead to advise that I was going to be late for my reservation. Not a problem. Arrived to be seated by a friendly waitress who gave us a choice of tables. Restaurant was moderately busy, plenty of tables available. Food and drinks order was taken promptly and brought to us within a short period of time. Lunch men food was excellent. Tasty and good sized portion of hot beef stottie. Price was reasonable. Overall, a great experience, just what we wanted and the food hit the spot perfectly. Will definitely return.

First, I'd like to thank Tegan for a lovely welcome and for handling alm our queries quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately the menu was very rich and heavy (particularly the salt! Way too much). It would be nice to see a few lighter options. I would have liked to know where my meat is from. It should be easy to source high welfare meat locally. Instead it felt as if everything had been bought in. The vegetable soup was simply an undefined green salty soup. Breakfast was good but again were the eggs free range and was the bacon local? I think they're missing an opportunity. It's a fantastic location with lovely rooms. I don't think it's backed up by the restaurant food.

Food was good and service was actually excellent. Unfortunately experience was somewhat ruined by a large group sat behind us with a group of very loud adults and feral children shouting throughout and running amok throughout the pub. A pity as other than that the venue is potentially great.

We had a very enjoyable evening and the Staff were great, very accommodating with our dogs, the radiator being turned down as it was on & 19°C outside. The food was very good. It's alot quieter there than it was in August! (Not surprisingly). Definitely will be back in this week.

It was easy to book. I have been before so knew what to expect. The waiter took our order swiftly and the food arrived within a reasonable time. The food was presented quite haphazardly on the plate. I didn’t realise that I had a roast parsnip underneath the roast beef. The carrot was not cooked at all which is a pity as it looked so nice. Everything went well until we had finished our mains and I complained about the raw carrot when the waitress cleared the plates. It then took the waitress almost half an hour to take my dessert order and even then we had to stop her and ask. It was busy for Sunday lunch so there might have been an excuse but come on, five star? It won’t put us off as it is our local while on holiday. Maybe next time will be better.

Food was very tasty, the fish and chips in particular were very good. Unfortunately some of the standards were poor - food on the floor, toilets not great. The service was ok - nothing special - and some items we wanted weren’t available.
