    Loved it! Parking was a bit of a challenge to start with but once we found the free car park at the entrance to the village all was fine. Really enjoyed our meal and loved the pub!

    Unfortunately we thought the service was poor, the price of the drinks was incredible high. Some 25% more expensive that restaurants and hotels in Beadnell and Seahouses. We were kept waiting for our table when others were shown to other tables and when we were sat within the restaurant we had to ask for a waiter to take our food order as they were taking others orders who came to there table after us. All in all we would not recommend this pub/ restaurant.

    Excellent meal service was excellent too. We will be back on Wednesday with additional people in our party. It was very nice and we all enjoyed the atmosphere too.

    Ordered a starter of just olives and Focacia And a main course of chicken in a wrap and steak pie and mash. Waited a long time then the mains were brought to the table. Pointed out we were still waiting for our starter. Main meals taken away. Starters served. After we had just eaten our last morsel of the starter the main meals were brought back. The food was dreadful. Dried up chicken on a cold base that was now like cardboard. The pie filled with a thick gravy type mush and soggy pastry case having had gravy poured all over it 10 minutes earlier. A truly dreadful experience. Bad service and the cheapest food they could find. Used to be a good pub but IT ISNT NOW. They took the chicken meal off the bill but We were on a tight budget and had looked forward to this one meal out on our holiday. We ended up getting a ready meal from M and S! Evening ruined. Would recommend Bertram’s in Warkworth instead.

    Been here many times in the past. Menu less varied than we remember, no specials, not much locally caught fish. Service generally good and friendly although some younger servers have developed "waiter's eye" - the ability to look somewhere else and be busy with small jobs. Food was tasty though. As for value for money, could only give two stars on that score because the wine prices were silly - cheapest bottle a Pinot Grigio at £29.50? A Rioja Reserve at £55? Come on! Are these the new Northumberland prices?

    Lovely bar and restaurant with a wide ranging menu. Our reservation was a mid week afternoon so missed most of the lunchtime rush. I had the lemon meringue sundae but couldn’t find any meringue!! Nice pleasant staff.
