The Jim and Neesie

Such a cute spot, Bryan was our server and he was kind and wonderful!
Wow, this place was spectacular! If they had not participated in Miami Spice, I would’ve never found out about it! First off, this place is in a super cute hotel adjacent to the Faena Hotel. The vibe is so chill, relaxing yet inviting and the customer service was excellent. Now to the best part, the food!!! I had the best Hamachi Tartare I’ve ever eaten, it had the perfect amount of salt, acid and fat ratio, I’m going back just to eat that again! I also ordered the salmon which was beautifully cooked, the flavors were so unique, my mouth was in heaven! We also ordered the octopus and the NY strip, both of which were really good, but not quite as amazing as the other two options that we had. It was extremely difficult to choose which dessert was our favorite, we had the banana bread and the blondie with dulce de leche ice cream, I practically licked both bowls clean! Do yourself a favor and check this place out before it becomes too popular!!!
Wonderful experience at The Jim and Neesie. The restaurant is small, but intimate. The decor is beautiful and the lighting is perfect. The service was fantastic from start to finish - very attentive and informative but not overbearing. We went for the Miami spice menu and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, literally don’t have a single thing to complain about. Would definitely come back here, and hope to make this a regular dining spot!
Fun, funky spot with an eclectic menu. Located in a hostel, the vibe is young and energetic. The food is fresh and interesting with a mix of "bar food" and more sophisticated fare. The restaurant is pretty small and the music is a bit loud so conversation is not easy. The staff is very nice and helpful with the menu. Cocktails are interesting.
Great decor, service, food and drink. The noise level was the one negative. Admittedly we were among the older set of diners at the just inside the lobby restaurant at The Generator--an international hostel concept. And yet, conversation over dinner with friends was challenging. Back to the pluses: Miami Spice menu featuring two exceptional options for this vegetarian-asparagus as a 'light start,', romanesco as 'serious eat.' Charred asparagus: asparagus bright green and crisp topped with a crispy, yes crispy, poached egg. A sensory delight! Charred romanesco (okay, we've got a 'charred' theme going here but we mix it up for dessert): the harissa sauce on which the romanesco (aka broccoli cauliflower) is plated takes the dish to a memorable level. A Miami Spice wine flight-albarino and red blend-was a nice pairing. Panna Cotta for 3rd course-pleasant cooling contrat following harissa sauce, a bit too gelatin-like for me but the flavor profile of the dish as a whole was a great ending. Also notable from my dinner companions: 'The Old Fashioned' from the bar and 'Crisp Skin Airline Chicken.'
Just down the street from our hotel, the ratings are what got us in the door. And Jim and Nessie's did not disappoint. We enjoyed great cocktails and a selection of good wines by the glass. The food was superb. Well prepared, creative and delicious. Service was friendly and timely. Great experience!
What a great find! Cocktails made tableside. The carrots, octopus, and asparagus appetizers were all delicious. The truffle pasta did underwhelm...but the airline chicken was fantastic.
Amazing cocktails, dinner, service, & ambiance!!!
Upscale bar. Superb eclectic menu. Best asparagus ever. Chicken and Salmon outstanding. Chef Daniel gives a personal touch. This is a WOW For mid-beach!
Food was delicious & ambiance was unexpectedly cool & cozy. Love that they have bottomless brunch cocktail options. Fun alone....on a date or with a group.
We were a party of 4 and we all were so impressed! Everything we ate was delicious, as were our cocktails. Our tag team servers did an outstanding job and the chef even took pics for us as we were leaving. We live in Fort Lauderdale and will definitely be back!
Food, cocktails, and service were good. Music was way too loud for the small space.
Jim and Neesie is truly a little gem of Miami Beach. We had an incredible meal here and can’t wait to go back. Everything from the food, service and ambiance was impeccable!
The Casio e Pepe was to die for and the Broccoli and Carrot dish was delicious.
Our server was so nice as well and made it an even better experience! We will be back!
Great food, drinks and service, highly recommend, out of the ordinary food, flavors are unique.
This Ambiance is very nice but the food was very difficult to understand on the menu and very high price
Amazing ambiance, helpful service, and everything we ordered was incredible!
Wonderful food and excellent service - the guys were charming and there was a lovely atmosphere - only issue was there were very few diners
Probably the best restaurant in Miami hands down. My husband and I were there over Memorial weekend. The food was delicious and the service was superb. We had drinks in the outside bar, Nico makes the best cocktails in town. If you're looking for an easy, good and delicious place for cocktails and dinner. Also, great bang for your buck. This place can be anywhere, NYC, West Hollywood or London, but its in Miami....so go and you wont be disappointed.
Chef Daniel Roy was amazing! We are still taking about the meal today. The food and service was exceptional. The thought and care that went into each dish and each bite was phenomenal. Chef Daniel came out and introduced himself to us which made the meal even better. We will come back again and again and again!
I loved this place so much that I ate there 2 nights in a row! Very cute and cozy and the staff is just GREAT! All of them! Cocktails were amazing and everything I tried was so tasty! Airline chicken was the best chicken dish I’ve had. Cooked perfectly and seasoned just right! Be sure and get a side of the grilled bread...yum! Cute bar out back also! Check it out!
Great vibe with great food and tableside prepped drinks. Cool atmosphere, wonderful service.
Delicious food, experimentell and modern. Drinks prepared in bottles so we could not see what's in them actually... Noicy room, lots of echoes and some ta les were quite loudspeaking/yelling.
Top notch service, delish food, outstanding drinks. Can't wait to go back.
This is my 5th time here and although the kitchen is doing a good job with the food, the service has deteriorated to a new low. The writer was inattentive did not know or care about the specials, brought a bottle of wine that was corked (which happens) tried to charge us for it and did not come back to the table until the bill. And the place was not busy. Wonder why? They have a serious training issue. I will not go back
Such a cool place with a young chef who focuses on fantastic ingredients. We loved it. Don't miss the raspberry Negroni
This place is amazing & absolutely beautiful. My boyfriend & I went to celebrate our 3 year anniversary & we could not have gone to a better place. Chef Jorge is amazing and we will be coming back very soon!
Amazing food, attention, and really relaxed setting. One of the top spots for Miami
Service and food and drink were very good. Only detractor was heavy hand on the salt in the kitchen.
The wait staff and hostess went out of their way to be friendly and make us comfortable. It is a small seating area and the lighting was a bit too low requiring a phone to light up the small font printed menu. The music while energetic was a bit too loud for the size of the room requiring a loud speaking voice with tables placed very closely on both sides you are forced to listen to someone eles's conversation. They have a limited menu, while food was good the portions are a bit too small for the price. They smash their burgers which are overcooked and dry lacking the usual burger juicy feel.
Really nice dining experience! Interesting food with nice service - a nice departure from normal Miami Beach restaurants
Thank you for taking the time to write a review! We're thrilled that you enjoyed your experience and look forward to the next time you dine with us! :)
Excellent food! Great cocktails! Chicken and Filet were excellent. All the vegetables were cooked to perfection
Disappointed by the lackadaisical service, especially on a Fri night that was not overly crowded in the restaurant. The one drawback of an otherwise nice dinner.
The food was different but wonderful. Had a lovely dinner with my family.
Nice atmosphere. Portions are quite small for the main course. Especially for the price. The octopus dish was equivalent to an appetizer. Opted not to return the following night.
Noise level quiet in the garden
Great food, service, and vibe. Food was really on point and unlike many restaurants these days it was not over salted. Everything was fresh and you could taste the food as it should be. It was excellent. I’ll definitely be back.
This hidden gem never disappoints! Wonderful staff always friendly and welcoming, and the food is so so good. Highly recommend it on any night
Great food and service was very good!!!
Awesome. Easy reservations. Very accommodating. While north of the chaos on Collins, very accessible. Food was carefully prepared and executed brilliantly. Vibe was low key but chill. Would bring friends next time.
Suspect it’s louder later in the evening but this place has a great, intimate vibe and serves creative, high quality food in both small and large plate portions. Octopus, cacia e pepe spaghetti, hamachi tiradito we’re all home runs, as was one (actually, three) of the best dirty martinis we’ve ever had.
