The Jim and Neesie
We had a nice time! Good food + drinks!
Have to go. Amazing
We had the best time here. From the drinks, food, service, our seat.... loved it and would come back again!
Everything we tried tasted excellent... the kale mushroom salad, the crispy skin airline chicken and the cauliflower romanesco with the spicy sauce is an innovative vegetarian dish with just the right kick.
However, the restaurant is so dark that it is impossible to see anything. We had to use our phones to visualize what was on our plates. I am all for setting the ambience with soft lighting but if a restaurant is as dark as a nightclub it just takes away from the dining experience. The countless filament lights dangling from the ceiling are just not cutting it. Also, the water glasses were small 8 ounce glasses that had to be refilled countless times which didn't always happen without prompting. But then again, maybe the wait staff didn't see they were empty because it was too dark...
Reasonably priced food that uses unique combinations. Good cocktails. Accommodating staff, good vibe
I would recommend Dinner because the dinner menu is 100% better than brunch. We were very disappointed with service and food for Sunday brunch.
Great intimate spot for Valentine’s Day dinner. Sat outside in an adorable space, which was of course busy but not overwhelming visually or audibly. Charcuterie board was delicious, as was the Old Fashioned. Both the steak and salmon dinners were well cooked, plated, and tasty all while being a proper portion.
We arrived 30min early and were given the option of waiting at the bar or sitting outside, which we appreciated as it respected both our time and experience.
Unfortunately I am terrible with names so I cannot recall the server’s name, however he also goes by John Legend so if you work there or visit you’ll know. He was spot on and made sure the night was something special.
We’ll most certainly be back.
I took my wife for the Valentine’s Day dinner. We had an amazing meal. Every dish we ate was great. The place looks great. I am definitely bringing her there again.
We loved it so much, were returning tonight! Best meal by far in Miami!
Very unique experience inside a hostile but worth it great service small quite enjoyable
This was my 4th time eating at the restaurant. Everytime the food has been terrific and I love the ambience. Each time I've gone with a new group of friends and everyone feels the same as I do. This is a real hidden gem and I look forward to going back soon.
This is a wonderful treat!
Chef Daniel Roy is a true star who layers unexpected flavors and textures
Wonderful service and ambiance
Total enjoyment ❤️
First timers here. Food is excellent....my Manhattan was tasty but served in a tiny old fashioned martini glass...just fyi. Worth it for the food alone though.
The Jim and Nessie - went for the Sunday Brunch. Absolutely hands down the best meal of our trip to Miami. The staff is exceptional - and the drinks they make outstanding. The food - perfect! The atmosphere here is really groovy too - and The Generator hostel hotel is super cool. We will be back!
Service like they just got out of bed, very unfocused and slow.
Our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable on the food and wine!
High prices for wannabe good food. Didn't enjoy it at all. 4cl Cocktail for 12$ + Tax.. ? Seriously?
Truly inventive and tasty food - especially the appetizers- in friendly setting
Charming and eclectic decor. Service was good, we were kind of shared among 3 wait staff, that is good idea in a place where there is18% service charge. The food was very good. I have the crackling salmon, it was decadent, husband had scallops which were light and refreshing. Would come back.
Airline chicken is always delicious, and buratta salad was excellent. Service was impeccable.
The food was delicious. We had eight different dishes between four of us and everything was fabulous. Great service, perfect martinis, can’t wait to go again.
Amazing food !!
Great cocktails, very good and diverse vegetarian options (especially liked the Cacio e Pepe and the carrot small plate), great service. It was pretty loud, which made it hard to hear at times, but otherwise a nice environment. Highly recommend!
This was a wonderful find. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Very creative. The airline chicken was great as was my pasta. The wine was also great and well priced. Staff was friends and chef came and told us about our food. We sat on the deck which was nice. Highly recommended by our group!
Service was impeccable. Staff are very accommodating and attentive. Food was great and the ambiance is very cozy.
Food was AMAZING. Service was absolutely terrible. I was very disappointed. There was no one to take in my reservation, we got waited by a bartender instead of a waiter, he didn't have a very good attitude and just didn't feel very welcomed. Besides that the food was absolutely amazing, just WOW. Hope that next time we visit we have a better service experience, I would only come back because Chef Daniel's food was incredible.
Excellent! Creative, interesting and well done!
Food and service was amazing. We went for the bark brunch they were hosting and I am glad that event brought us to this place. We had the steak and eggs which had great seasoning and it was cooked perfect. We also had the french toast which was one of the best I have had. The bread was so fluffy and flavorful and it included berries. I would highly recommend this place.
Staff was friendly but very understaffed. Food took forever and dishes were very spaced out. Water went empty for long periods of time. Food was good. Music was very loud but that’s typical for Miami.
Incredible menu with a wide selection. Everything we had was well made, the broccoli was outrageously delicious. The octopus was perfectly charred. Great cocktails and the bartender was such a treat - taking the time to talk through what we wanted to drink! Fun vibe - worth checking out!
We loved our Miami Spice meal at The Jim and Neesie! We had the delicious burrata salad and hamatchi tartare to start. We liked the short rib especially the smoky eggplant and the airline chicken was amazing. The blondie with ice cream and banana bread with ice cream were great ways to end the meal. The atmosphere is chill, dark, and classy. The service was attentive. The old fashioned was one of the best I've ever had and the tableside service is neat!
This was our second time dining at Jim and Neesie, we decided to come back because we had loved our first Miami Spice experience so much that we wanted to enjoy it again. Unfortunately, we had the complete opposite experience. The service was was pretty awful, but the food was still good, just not as delicious as the first time. We will sadly not be dining here again.
My second time here in a couple of months, I returned as my wife was traveling with me this time and I wanted her to get to experience this little gem. Great food and service with a creative and delicious cocktail list. The only negative is a very short wine list. Overall a great spot.
I had been wanting to check this place out and I’m so glad I did. The service was great - my server was friendly and funny and directed my party very well. The place was super cool - a hidden cool gem on the beach.
The food was interesting and delicious
I ordered off the spice menu and the portions were all great - such a great value. I loved my hamachi tartare and the chicken. My friends order the blondie and that was definitely the winner hands down for the sweets.
Such a cute spot, Bryan was our server and he was kind and wonderful!
Wow, this place was spectacular! If they had not participated in Miami Spice, I would’ve never found out about it! First off, this place is in a super cute hotel adjacent to the Faena Hotel. The vibe is so chill, relaxing yet inviting and the customer service was excellent. Now to the best part, the food!!! I had the best Hamachi Tartare I’ve ever eaten, it had the perfect amount of salt, acid and fat ratio, I’m going back just to eat that again! I also ordered the salmon which was beautifully cooked, the flavors were so unique, my mouth was in heaven! We also ordered the octopus and the NY strip, both of which were really good, but not quite as amazing as the other two options that we had. It was extremely difficult to choose which dessert was our favorite, we had the banana bread and the blondie with dulce de leche ice cream, I practically licked both bowls clean! Do yourself a favor and check this place out before it becomes too popular!!!
Wonderful experience at The Jim and Neesie. The restaurant is small, but intimate. The decor is beautiful and the lighting is perfect. The service was fantastic from start to finish - very attentive and informative but not overbearing. We went for the Miami spice menu and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, literally don’t have a single thing to complain about. Would definitely come back here, and hope to make this a regular dining spot!
Fun, funky spot with an eclectic menu. Located in a hostel, the vibe is young and energetic. The food is fresh and interesting with a mix of "bar food" and more sophisticated fare. The restaurant is pretty small and the music is a bit loud so conversation is not easy. The staff is very nice and helpful with the menu. Cocktails are interesting.
Great decor, service, food and drink. The noise level was the one negative. Admittedly we were among the older set of diners at the just inside the lobby restaurant at The Generator--an international hostel concept. And yet, conversation over dinner with friends was challenging. Back to the pluses: Miami Spice menu featuring two exceptional options for this vegetarian-asparagus as a 'light start,', romanesco as 'serious eat.' Charred asparagus: asparagus bright green and crisp topped with a crispy, yes crispy, poached egg. A sensory delight! Charred romanesco (okay, we've got a 'charred' theme going here but we mix it up for dessert): the harissa sauce on which the romanesco (aka broccoli cauliflower) is plated takes the dish to a memorable level. A Miami Spice wine flight-albarino and red blend-was a nice pairing. Panna Cotta for 3rd course-pleasant cooling contrat following harissa sauce, a bit too gelatin-like for me but the flavor profile of the dish as a whole was a great ending. Also notable from my dinner companions: 'The Old Fashioned' from the bar and 'Crisp Skin Airline Chicken.'
