Excellent service , amazing food will definitely return.
Staff were great, food was ok, chips a little crispy!
Rum Baba was really good
Wow, fantastic meal. The service and attention of all the staff is second to none.
A lovely afternoon tea with my wife for our anniversary. The team where incredibly attentive and looked after us during our whole visit, including a lovely extra touch with a special anniversary cake.....although extra sugar wasn't the first thing on my mind at the time :-).
Thank you The Ivy
Had a lovely first visit to the ivy staff were amazing couldn’t have done any more to make our visit special .
Great food and service. Very busy and loud so may not really for those looking for a quiet meal
Really good service, helpful staff, great range of drinks and food .It was my birthday and they brought a complimentary cake with a candle which was a lovely surprise.
Good ambiance, service were just right and good to see additional coffee's were free of charge.
Overall a good experience, we'll be back
Excellent service in a stunning surroundings, food 2nd to none. Value for money was very good. I recommend the Creme brulle, if it came in a bucket, i would still want more.
Service & food amazing, great value, would recommend.
I love the food at the Ivy, Winchester but I always feel irritated by certain things that are so easy to fix. Firstly we kept being served beer in warm glasses. When we asked for a cold glass we were told that they had just come out of the dishwasher - not an acceptable excuse I don't think. We ordered bread but by the time the main course arrived, and the bread hadn't, we cancelled it! We asked for a little jug of additional sauce with the fish dish and that never arrived. Apparently our waiter isn't allowed in the kitchen so could not go and chase it - not acceptable.
All those gripes are so easy to rectify and for a restaurant of this calibre and resources, they should be attended to
Additionally when we arrived we were asked if we were celebrating anything that evening. 'Yes', we said, 'our son's 30th Birthday'. Now, when you are asked that, you might expect that someone would write 'Happy Birthday' on a plate and stick a small chocolate on it, or present a small cake, or even say 'Happy Birthday', but no. It was never mentioned again.
WHY DO IT! Is the guy at the front desk just nosy?
The atmosphere was relaxed with a hint of exciting formality. The food was delicious and our lovely waitress, Natasha, was truly excellent. She was friendly and extremely professional. Well done The Ivy, Winchester!
The usual standards expertly and efficiently delivered - a good place for our 40th wedding anniversary dinner.
Lovely interior, attentive staff and great food. Vegetarian menu is alright but not extensive. We had a memorable meal and will return.
Great night - enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Lovely waiters and waitresses!
Found our new favourite place to eat, We really enjoyed meal the service was excellent beautiful in in all aspects The Ivy will definitely see us again.
The quality of the food let the occasion down. We ordered burgers but weren’t asked how we’d like them done. Regardless they were overcooked and the bun charred.
Also, the customer service could have been improved whereby we were asked if everything was okay / our food was okay. There was a lack of personal service.
Just the most exquisite food, beautifully presented, service exceptional. Such an enjoyable experience. You get what you pay for, and this was top drawer. Value for money. I don't remember having such a lovely meal.
Wonderful fresh food, lovely atmosphere and very attentive team
Good service, helpful and professional staff, the zucchini frites were lovely although some we’re missing zucchini! It was just too loud unfortunately, I wouldn’t come back during peek times.
Excellent service & food. Nice decor. Tables for two a little too close together for comfort. Lunchtime dining at the weekend a bit noisy for us, but this was just families enjoying themselves!
Food was great apart from the chips which were awful .On both fish and chip lunches
Wonderful company, delicious food, lovely ambiance equals fabulous evening!
Nice ambience and good table this time. Service staff were very friendly but service was slow. Disappointingly the food was not great - the chips were chewy, the steak was more well done than medium and the Chicken Milanese was soggy and tasteless.
I have to say that having been to this restaurant twice in 2 weeks (hoping that the first experience was just an off night) - I think the standards have dropped and I won’t be returning for a while.
Delightful server Dan, excellent food and lovely ambiance.
We appreciate the hospitality sector needs to recoup their losses over the last 18 months but felt the service and food were not on par with previous visits before lockdown.
Good food and service, however placed in a dark corner of the restaurant. Steak was a little tough when I had it.
The food is fabulous so too is the service and ambiance. Only gripe was the noise level was loud.
First day back on full service and although it was a little slow we were looked after by the friendly staff.
We were in the back room which was lovely and quiet which is what we wanted. The front rooms were buzzing. Best G&T ever
My wife and I had a great evening at the Winchester Ivy. From the greeting to Dan, our waiter. He had great knowledge of the menu and wine list and was very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.
I eat out regularly and this place was exceptional, Service, food, atmosphere. Choice of food, I could have chosen several items from the menu not just finding one that I’m safe with. All my guests were also as happy. It was classy but yet chilled.
We were celebrating our son’s graduation and it was exceptional. Can’t wait to back next year for his next graduation.
Have to also comment, we were caught up in extreme trafficker to overturned lorry. I called explained and the team were amazing and supportive moving my table reservation around even though they were fully booked. A huge thank you and an amazing day.
Lovely food, excellent company and great celebration.
Food was extremely good, nothing to criticise at all. The only reason I did not give five stars overall was because initially we were seated at a table for two in between two other similar table which were ridiculously close to each other. We asked to be moved and was straight away to a more suitable booth. The tables were too close even for pre COVID standards.
A lunchtime table for two was booked for my wife’s birthday. Despite notifying the restaurant of the special occasion and reception acknowledging the special occasion (by asking whose birthday it was) this information was not passed on to the waiter. The waiter gave a reasonable service but I left coming out of this restaurant feeling that no effort was made to make this meal experience extra special for my wife. For example no one said happy birthday and we didn’t get any surprises. This was in contrast to fine dining restaurants that we went to in Southampton for our anniversary earlier in the week (such as Blue Jasmine and The Jetty). These restaurants made our experience extra special and we received a complimentary dessert with happy anniversary written on the plate in chocolate- which was very touching.
On top of this I was a-bit horrified to find how noisy the Ivy was. We were placed on a very small table flanked by two other tables (one consisting of a large female party who were extremely noisy). It just didn’t feel intimate for us.
I have had meals here in the past on several occasions (albeit in the private room) and the service has been second to none. However my wife’s order of duck salad was no where near to the standard that she had during the private function. It was very tangy and burnt.
We had a really nice time at the Ivy, the service and ambience were very good. We chose from the lunchtime set menu, but unfortunately the main courses were all a bit disappointing.
We had a great experience. From service to food to the fabulous waitress. Enjoyable lunch. Will definitely return.
Excellent food and service l, could not have been more satisfied
What a lovely late lunch! Great atmosphere and food was really good. I also had a really delicious non-alcoholic cocktail.
As always, thoroughly enjoyed he experience of having lunch at The Ivy. Thank you
