This was our first time here and we had an unpleasant experience. The host was very rude to the waiters. We felt very uncomfortable and we ended up leaving.

Cute and quaint setting. We had the crabcakes, they were good but a little more fried than we like. I had the Spaghetti with Lobster with the Ivy Sauce, which was very good overall but the lobster was a bit chewy. My daughter had the Lobster Ravioli and it was delish. Last time I was in LA and dined at the Ivy we had Steve Martin and Diane Keaton dine near us which was fun. It was too chilly out to eat on the patio this time so we dined by the fireplace inside this time.

Was extremely disappointed by my most recent visit to The Ivy, after an absence of several years. Though I had made clear -- through OpenTable -- that we were celebrating a birthday, we got the worst possible table, outside in a corner facing the street, with all its foot and car traffic, to say nothing of cramp seating and near impossibility of servers, busboys, etc. reaching us. Two requests for bread went unheeded, water glasses were not refilled promptly. Same with refills on coffee. And ordering dessert took longer than it should have. It was hard to tell just who our server was, frankly. It was always changing. I requested a table change from the host, was politely told my request would be looked into, but then never received any follow-up from anyone. Had the restaurant not been so extremely expensive, these issues might be less irksome. But The Ivy is a special-occasion destination, and there was nothing special about this occasion, save for the food, which did live up to the restaurant's reputation.

Food was under cooked and could tell that it was cheaply done for Valentine’s Day... they up charged the food and didn’t make it special! I ordered the cajan shrimp pizza which only came with 4 small pieces of shrimp for $30! My dates pasta was bland and under cooked... meet balls were good though along with the drinks

Leave it to me to visit The Ivy on one of the ten days of rain we're likely to get in 2019. My friend and I both ordered the gumbo, which was the perfect antidote for the gloomy, drizzly weather. The three teenage girls in the party paused from grilling me about YouTube and Instagram stars just long enough to order completely plain hamburgers, which, even in their just-meat-on-a-bun-ness, looked great. The chocolate chip cookies were a fun close to the meal, and it's worth noting that the wait staff were terrific.

It is just so ridiculously priced that it is hard to say I would recommend it as I would be embarrassed to suggest that someone should pay so much for a single meal. I am all about good food, but what is the chili made with that a cup costs more than $20. And how is a single cocktail made with any ingredients that make it a $25 cup half full with ice? I love the food, the ambiance and the history, but I wish that is was at least in the realm of expensive and not ridiculous.

The ambiance is fantastic. Our table was not that nice and a little too small for three people. Somehow we were crammed in a corner. The food was fabulous and the bread beyond. The service was good but not as good as it usually is at the Shore...but in any case, we will always come back!

Solid location, service, food and ambiance. Overall great experience. Nice for a special evening or lunch. We had a bottle of champagne, the seafood platter for two, squash blossoms, and the gumbo on special menu. Squash blossoms were amazing and came out with the gumbo minutes after we ordered, sizzling! The gumbo had great flavor, and the you can’t really go wrong with a seafood platter. We finished with the tarte tartin, which we’re both still raving about. Will recommend to friends and will be back.

Love the cozy quaint feel and decor! There are beautiful fresh colorful roses everywhere. It was a cod evening so we chose to sit inside by the fireplace and loved it. We were promptly greeted and offered complimentary champagne while waiting for our table. We had the beet and burrata salad and the squash blossoms with goat cheese as appetizers and they were both amazing! We had the Chilean sea bass as the main course and it was outstanding, the flavors complimented each other perfectly. I also loved the cocktails! We had the apple Tartine for dessert and it did not disappoint, the best I have ever had! Be prepared to spend about $100+ per person but well worth the money! We were not rushed in any way and fully enjoyed the evening.

The Ivy has long been the queen of Robertson in West Hollywood. A favorite of celebrities, executives and ladies who lunch, the exposure has turned the chintz pillow filled restaurant into a tourist trap where people flock in search of a Kardashian.
Sadly, the food quality has suffered greatly. Fine is the kindest thing that can be said for the pizzas, the filet, the salads. Not terrible, but nothing like the top shelf deliciousness that's defined the local institution. Perhaps it was an off night, but this felt a bit like flat is their new normal.

I don’t know if we just came on a bad night??
The service was quite appalling. We felt as a small group that we weren’t wanted at this restaurant. The waiters seemed very disinterested and weren’t approachable at all. They had taken quite a while to take our order for food and drinks. Not once were they friendly, chatty or even smiley. The cost of the food wasn’t justified with the poor experience.

Always a classic, Ivy’s never fails- great/consistent service and atmosphere help you overlook the good, not great, food. The drinks are very expensive but delicious! And I love the bag of cookies that they give you at the end...Delicious! This is our go to restaurant for birthday lunches or weekend brunch...Definitely worth it!
