I’ve been coming here since 1989 and whether it’s a special celebration or a solo dinner after a long work week, it’s always a wonderful experience. Staff are gracious, kind and discreetly attentive. And the food is what you wish you could cook at home, but soooo much better. Especially appreciate how they treat solo female diners. Can’t wait to return.

Shabby Chic is alive and well at The Ivy. Beautiful, cozy, colorful French country decor. Complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival. Delicious food and wonderful service. A perfect place for special occasions. Just took my sister for her birthday and we had the best time! Highly recommend.

Always a delight to have dinner at the Ivy. Tonight we sat near the lovely fireplace. Everything is decorated with the most beautiful roses. Impeccable service. Incredible branzino! And the cookies “to go” are fabulous. It’s just perfect.

i have been many times in the past and it's always been great. yet the last 2 times, once at the shore and just the other night on robertson the experience was very disappointing on every level except the look of the restaurant. the server was a farce and the food was bad. but it's been bad lately so they're at least consistent. the place is a L.A. icon so i guess it survives on that level. it's also very expensive. i knew that going in, but don't mind the cost when it's good. i'll leave it for the tourists. i'm done with the ivy....

The staff at the Ivy is under the misunderstanding that they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. The resturant was once upon a time, but has now run its course and the only ones who are unaware is the staff. Rude, arrogant, slow and inattentive. Sad to see because it was once a lovely place

Although there were an abundance of empty tables, no one was willing to seat me despite my holding birthday gifts and my guest being delayed. 80% of the restaurant was empty and I had to remind the waiter 3 times about bringing a birthday dessert for my guest even though I had requested it when I made my reservation, when I confirmed my reservation and again when I checked in. My salad was smothered in dressing although I had asked for it “very lightly dressed.” After years of excellent service at the Ivy, I was very disappointed.

The Ivy remains the highest quality ingredients turned into fresh, cozy dishes. Whether the crispness of the salads, the perfectly cooked pasta, the lobster served so many ways, the Mexican fusion dishes and classic fried chicken -- or their singular, not so much what's expected, but delicious in a whole new way pizza, the sustenance is filling and affirming. Beyond delicious, it is soulful food -- and worth the expensive prices charged.
Do NOT go at a time when they're not busy. My recent visit saw a very charming waiter offering glacial service. Was the kitchen understaffed? The time between rushes seeing too few waiters stretched between inside or outside? Or just a lack of cafe for a single woman at a teeny table inside? Don't know, but marveled at the periods of not being able to find someone to refill water, ask if I wanted desert or take my credit card for the check.
Graciousness being the Ivy's calling card, not being rushed through a meal is a lovely thing. Inattentive service at this price point is highly disappointing. And note: my waiter was very charming when he was around. It was the amount of time between appearances that was vexing.

So disappointing. Went to celebrate my birthday and a friends. The Ivy was my favorite restaurant to celebrate special occasions. I’ve been there dozens of times. However , this last visit was terrible. Service was not attentive. Food was mediocre at best and cold when it arrived, it was obvious it was sitting for a while. The Eggs Benny was not edible. Our waiter was MIA. Won’t be going back.

We ordered fried calamari and ahi tuna tartare as an appetizer which both were delicious and would highly recommend both. There were six of us in our party and a burger was ordered, Ricky's fried chicken, cajun halibut, seafood linguini, NY steak and fish tacos and all were exceptional! For dessert we all enjoyed the crumble which is always a hit! We are looking forward to going back, either to The Ivy or Ivy at the Shore!

What has happened to The Ivy?! We went for Thanksgiving dinner thinking it would be something special. Not close. Not one person wished us a happy Thanksgiving. The wait staff seemed almost zombie-esque. The food was especially unremarkable and the prices were high (as expected) with an automatic service charge for unimpressive service. Aside from being in each other’s company which was special, The Ivy left us wanting a Thanksgiving do-over. Very sad to see such a decline in what once was a special place.

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Excellent and attentive service. Food was amazing (my husband even said it was the best stuffing he has ever had) and we had plenty of yummy non-meat options as well. Sea bass, lobster raviolis and steak were a hit too in addition to the traditional turkey meal with all the sides. All enjoyed their dinners. Highly recommend for special occasions. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. We all had a wonderful time.

I came across The Ivy from one of my fictional chick flick books bec it was about an actress. This is the place to be seen for the Hollywood people if they want the paps around them.

Anyway, food was great. I ordered the lobster risotto, which is to die for. 😊 Love the ambiance, esp their decor. Shabby Chic, which is just my thing! Our waitstaffs were accommodating. Nice touch is the cookies they give you to go and a complimentary champagne while waiting for your table to be set.
