I am a great fan of the ivy in york and I thought I would give Birmingham a go. Top class, great table fantastic food and service was excellent. Who ever runs this branch is top of their game. Well done.

It felt as if we were being spoilt, from the time we went in and through out our meal. We took an elderly couple and they thoroughly enjoyed their meal, including the birthday candle. Probably overstayed our welcome - there for over 3 hours we certainly were not rushed!! A big well done to the team and we could not fault the food. Would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting soon

Hey,Yesterday it was my cousin birthday we went there 7 people and the waiter it was very good I forgot his name and the manager was good aswell.Food it was nice only think what it was really disgusting really it was a big mouse inside in the restaurant and after we went because it wass very bad ,anyway the staff was nice just only terible moment it was the mouse.

Hmmm have been a few times now and this was by far the worst. Waitress seemed grumpy, split wine all over the table when opening the bottle, couldn’t remember the food order, drinks came out slow and the food wasn’t that great. Shame. We’d gone for a special occasion and came away a bit underwhelmed.

It wasn't bad, but the crushed avocado with roast tomato was not the flavor I was expecting. I prefer a fresher unblackened avocado.

We were celebrating and had a great time. Excellent food and very good service to match. However our table was too small for 4 dinners on the Valentine's experience and this sadly affected the service nevertheless we enjoyed our visit.

Wonderful waiter. So polite and engaging. Service excellent from all staff. Food delicious. Cooked perfectly. Delivered without waiting for ages but enough time to not feel rushed. Perhaps one of the last few restaurants left that hold traditional values and make for a wonderful meal out.

I ordered the 'special' of the day (as did one of my guests) which was loin of venison, on a bed of red cabbage, for £29.50 each. It would be hard to imagine a smaller dish than that which was presented. I'm surprised the chef didn't shrink with embarrassment upon these being allowed to leave the kitchen. Appalling value for money on this occasion.

Always a lovely atmosphere and good well valued food. The food this time was not as good as previous visits. Also we were seating in the middle of the room upstairs it was really tight and restricted. A table on the outside of the room or downstairs would have been a lot better and made the experience more enjoyable.

We had a table booked for 8.45 but wasn’t seated until about 40 minutes later. We then ordered starters but then our mains took about an hour and a half to come out. By that time we were too tired to eat. Very disappointed.

I appreciate it was an NYE package & the restaurant was going to be busy, but the service was chaotic, waited 30 mins till we sat at our table for booking time. Service was extremely delayed from orders being taken to food being served. Again I know it was busy due to being an nye however if you are going to take a booking then ensure you have enough staff cover on the night. Servers running around like headless chicken due to the demand. Food was ok & nothing exceptional but due to the long wait between courses when the food had arrived it just didn’t hit the spot. In general a nice menu was on offer for the price but the service was poor

Service was extremely poor, waited for over 1.5 hours, waiters forgot that we even came. The food was very mediocre, the only decent dish was the roasted butternut squash soup. The salmon was overcooked, the roasted beans were undercooked and the Creme brûlée just tasted like a normal custard. The champagne was dodgy.
