The Ivy Temple Row
Really enjoyable evening, great food and atmosphere, service was excellent…thank you Francesca 👍🏻
The staff , venue and the food & drink were all fabulous … extremely good value . We had a very lovely evening.
Fantastic from the moment we arrived. Beautiful surroundings, wonderful staff and excellent food. The trip to the ladies toilets was amazing. I would highly recommend the ivy and can’t wait to return. Thankyou to all the stats for making our engagement celebration special and
Even more memorable.
Slow service from kitchen, food was over cooked and the thick cut chips were anything but
Great menu with plenty of variety. Food superb and beautifully prepared, cooked and presented. Always a fabulous dining experience.
Overall a nice experience and a lovely atmosphere. Our server who initially introduced herself and the menu, seemed somewhat distracted and often disappeared all together. This made it difficult to re-order a glass of wine or even replace the pepper mill which was empty. We were offered dessert and we were looking forward to a coffee instead but again our server was no where to be seen so we grabbed the attention of someone else and asked for the bill. He was very pleasant and asked if we would come back and yes we will as it was a nice meal and experience.
Consistently good food and service is why we return.
The ambience is really nice and staff is available and gentle
Food sometimes has unusual and strange combination of flavors
Good service but I was disappointed with the food. Especially desert, tiramisu was very watery, worst I have had. The Ivy wasnt anything special.
We were served by a lovely lady for our time at the Ivy, however, we were told they were out of some of the foods, which was dissapointing then, one of the diners who was with us order the beef ravioli, the raioli was cold and we did not feel it was worth the money we paid for it, it being one of the most expesnive meals on the menu.
From our greeting to our goodbye, service was excellent. Cloakroom service is a bonus. Our waitress was courteous and polite, informed us on the menu choice and sold out status of meals.
Cocktails- amazing, definitely go for the PS I really love you.
The food is so tasty, hits every taste bud. Food taste explosion! Recommend the Beef fillet (medium rare)
Noise level wasn't an issue, we could still hold a private conversation.
Overall a lovely evening and we shall be returning.
What a stunning restaurant amazing food and service could not fault it
Long wait for food and beverage.
Small mediocre portion
Great service and the food was amazing as always, thank you
Service was very good and issue was resolved quickly, but our food was cold
The whole experience was very disappointing. We were booked into the restaurant at 8.30 pm and we were quickly served lovely drinks by a fantastic waitress. The starters came out timely and were beautiful. There was then a huge wait for the main course, which eventually arrived at 10.10pm but was also flat cold. Cold sides of mash, green beans and flat cold fillet steak, sirloin steak and over cooked, even burnt turbot fish which was £34 and was the worst plate of food we’ve ever been served. The whole experience was let down by poor kitchen staff sending out wholly unacceptable plates of food, that are not cheap in the first instance. With so many lovely new eatery’s to go to in Birmingham, please avoid this once magnificent restaurant. It has gone down hill a lot and is not living up to the name of The Ivy at all. Such a shame.
Regrettably the usual high service standards were not there this time. A number of sides were missed off our order and when they did arrive they had to be sent back as they were stone cold.
Elements of some of our dishes were also missing and had to be requested.
Having dined at this restaurant on a number of occasions I can say that the usual high standards of service were simply not there this time.
Once the food did arrive, albeit piecemeal, it was of the usual high quality and as always was cooked to perfection.
Second visit this year to celebrate my bfs birthday..... beautiful place, amazing food and oustanding staff!
Excellent food, service and location. Noisy near the bar, but still an amazing evening.
Came for a late birthday treat having eaten at another Ivy restaurant in the past. The restaurant was busy and ambient, but service was excellent with nice friendly staff. However food was quite average considering the prices. The steak was not anything special and would probably have better food elsewhere. Don't think we will return :(
Food was lovely as were the drinks. Did not appreciate being rushed off our table just because the people who arrived for the table after us were early. We did make the point that we were within our allocated time allowance, the staff did keep 'harassing' us to choose our dessert.
It would have been a lovely evening apart from feeling rushed.
The food is very average, my duck curry was luke warm, it really isn't value for money, disappointed
Just lovely - fantastic service, drinks and food. everyone was lovely. So glad we booked in.
Second time here & still loved it just as much as the 1st time. Can’t wait to come again.
Amazing service and beautiful decor, Duck curry the best I’ve ever had.
Everything was great, apart from a minor point, my fries were cold when they arrived, however, this was rectified immediately.
Great customer service as always!
Had the champagne afternoon tea felt the food was tasty but portion size on the small side.
Lovely restaurant and the food was amazing. Cocktails were really nice too. I did request a window table which wasn’t available but did manage a corner seat. Just find it annoying to have to sit and wait at the bar for your table that has been prebooked.
Fantastic meal in a beautifully presented location. Highly recommend!
Lovely food, our waitress was extremely attentive. We did have to wait quite a long time before courses. The portions were quite small. Maybe a little expensive for what you got.
Sides were cold. Had eaten the mains before the sides were replaced. Chicken Milanese had a pink tinge which put my friend off eating it. Shame as the service was good and we were well looked after when we complained.
We visited The Ivy for Saturday Brunch and overall it was outstanding. The service from all members of staff was exceptional. Our food was full of flavor and arrived in a timely manor throughout the meal.
Great service, great food and beautiful ambience. I am looking forward to my next visit on Thursday
Normally a good device but yesterday it was chaos.. food took over an hour to come, drinks were cold and you could see everyone was having the same issues. Yes they offered a free drink after waiting 50 minutes but the breakfast was not edible so I ate my toast and returned the rest. Bill still came with the full price and the waitress removed her service charge due to the poor service the restaurant’ has provided
Visited on Saturday morning and despite the snow and bad conditions, the staff did a brilliant job in ensuring that we had great service and brilliant full English breakfasts cooked to perfection. The waitress who served our food was charming, cheerful, professional with a lovely sense of humour. They made us forget about the weather outside.
We usually love this restaurant & have dined here multiple times with no issues.
However, this time was completely different. We arrived early to a reservation we had made 4 weeks in advance. We were seated at the bar whilst we wait for the time and ordered drinks.
When it came to the hour our reservation was on, we had to chase down one of the hostesses and enquire. She was quite clueless (did not check our name or what time the reservation was for) and informed us that she doesn’t control when diners leave and we could be waiting between 5-20 min. A manager shortly followed (guessing he saw the exchange), apologized and offered us drinks on the house which was nice.
When we were eventually seated upstairs, the server was very inattentive and abrupt from the beginning. The food was ok (ever since the menu changed it’s not as incredible as it once was. The first course took around 15 minutes to arrive. However the second course took over 40 minutes! When asked another clueless staff member, they said they’ll check. 5 minutes later they just said “sorry, we cook the fish from fresh”... well we would certainly hope so but it still did not justify a 40 minute wait!
At some point I informed our (seemingly constantly annoyed) waitress that it’s my partner’s birthday and she said she’s “on it”.
She had forgotten this as we ordered dessert and she brought it over. She brought a lovely complimentary dessert to a table next to us exclaiming “it’s on the notes” even though it was no special occasion and said they can have it anyway...
After we finished our desserts she then came with a falling candle on a dessert that nearly burnt my partner, slammed it on the table saying “best wishes” & “sorry, can’t control candle” - she seemed to find it funny whilst my partner nearly got burnt & wasn’t laughing. She was clearly homophobic based on interactions with other tables.
I’ve mentioned to a manager the horrible experience and got a “sorry” in response.
Really good night, food great, staff friendly was a great experience
Outstanding night, the food and service was exceptional
Great food and great service.
Our waiter was really attentive and kind.
Will definitely be returning.
