Awful from start to finish. Lots of empty tables but we were seated at an awkward half moon table directly behind a large group of 6. Made it feel awkward. Server was bizarre and couldn't keep things straight. Were told there was a "big" problem and all the wine was gone except one house red and one house white.... um mm ok. Then no appetizers available except shrimp... um mm ok. Then ordered $42 steak and $30 salmon with garlic mashed potatoes. Took an hour for the food to come and it tasted awful. Steak was overcooked and cold. Salmon looked like captain highliner. And both had risotto instead of mashed potatoes. We fled never to return. Place will go out of business with that kinda food, service and prices.
We loved the food, atmosphere and the waiter was great. He was attentive and had a great sense of humour.
Was just amazing! The perfect meal to wife for birthday ,she was so happy and impressed we both just loved it .
Delicious food, great atmosphere, yummy cocktails. But, the standout of the night was the service!!! Our waiter, Tony, was the best waiter that I have had in Saskatoon in a long time - friendly, but not too chatty, attentive but not intrusive, a true professional. We now have a new favorite restaurant in Saskatoon
The Ivy is now our favourite! Our server Tony gets 5 out of 5 for his great service. Loved the food . We will be back for sure
Most amazing service we've had in the longest time... possibly ever?? Such a wonderful evening out with friends- delicious food, great music, kind, caring, amazing service that will be hard to find ever again (until we go back! ;))
The service was very good. Any questions we had for the waiter were answered with knowledge and a sense of humour. Because there is limited amount of tables in the dining room, customers get top notch attention. Having our Caesar salad made in front of us was a nice touch.
Our server Tony was spectacular. Greeted us like old friends at the front door and kept up the warm and thoughtful service through the whole experience. I would come back again just to have Tony serve us.
We went for our 39th anniversary and we have gone on several other anniversaries and special occasions previously. We were a little shocked with the new size , but it was ok. We thought everything was good except I felt my prime rib was a little tough compared to previous visits. I always have prime rib at the Ivy. Other than that no problem.
The food and service were excellent. The big plus for us was the low noise level. The resturant was full and there was a large group but the noise level was down so that we could talk without shouting. Not possible at many resturants in this city.
We went especially for the rack of lamb but it wasn't available the night we were there. There should be more choices of sides. One vegetable and two starches aren't enough, especially the two starches they had.
It was terrible from beginning to end. Absolutely not fine dining. Very expensive and the food was horrible. My husband ordered the stuffed chicken--it was dry and tasteless. I had the boar and it was tough and tasted only of being smoked. The food was warmish because the plates were ice cold. We will never go back and recommend everyone avoid this place.
Our anniversary supper at The Ivy was excellent. The ambiance is good and quite quiet - a recent improvement. The food selection was good and our choices were well prepared and very tasty. The staff are excellent - friendly and knowledgeable. The cocktails were good and there is a good wine list. Overall very nice.
It was our anniversary and it was honestly the best restaurant food I have ever had. The environment was very romantic and the service was amazing. Overall 10/10!!
Excellent service! Food was amazing. Ginger carrot soup was so delicious. Bacon scallops the best so far. Shrimp scampi very tasty. Sea bass and filet were cooked to perfection. Creme boule` so good.
Nice local restaurant that has downsized considerably since opening,
now only 9 tables and two staff plus cook and shares a kitchen with the adjoining sports bar.
Drinks were very good but a little pricey at 13 . Food was good with excellent appetizers and all dinners include sides, rice or potato and a few veggies. Ordered macadamia encrusted Mahi Mahi and it was not great , my mistake as the fish was frozen and a little tough. Other guest had Boar chop and it looked great. I think the restaurant is better for meat than fish. Meal cost for 4 with 2 appetizers 4 shots and 4 basic drinks came to 230 plus tip.
My wife and I went on our 7th year anniversary. Food was excellent. Toni was our server and very attentive.
Very friendly staff. The Shrimp Scampi was good but needed way more garlic. I probably wouldn't have it again. The chicken entree was excellent. The peanut butter cheesecake was good but not great, lacked flavor. Because I've had it in other places I was expecting the same flavor and it wasn't the same. Portion was smaller as well, which for the value wasn't worth it .......
First time experience was top notch! The service made the experience even more enjoyable. They ensure you have top quality food and feel special while you are there.
First time coming here, my wife and I came here for dinner before a concert. We drove all the way from Calgary for the concert and found this restaurant and let me tell ya! Amazing amazing amazing!!!! The food was world class and the service was unparalleled to anything I've experienced travelling before , Peter our server restored our faith that customer service is still alive today this guy was absolutely fantastic!
I would go back here in a heartbeat
Very small restaurant with exceptional service. Try the tableside Caesar salad!
An excellent first-time experience. We were looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary, and The Ivy certainly exceeded our expectations in terms of service and food quality. I would highly recommend the prime rib, as well as the Quebec Maple Whiskey Old Fashioned.
Our server, Kyle was exceptional, very friendly and knowledgeable. We appreciated his knowledge of the wine as it was one we had never tried before. It was perfect. I enjoyed the seafood pasta and I was assured by my boyfriend that his filet mignon was excellent. We also want to say thank you again to Tony who took the time to talk to us about the restaurant as we had met there for our first date and many changes have happened since that time. We are not too sure about if the Sport's Bar will succeed in that area but the fine dining is exceptional. Enjoy.
Great food, excellent service and wonderful ambience. Mothers day meal was sensational and wine was very delicious. I had 3glasses!
I've been going to The Ivy in Saskatoon for a number of years now whenever I am in Saskatoon for business. This time, I was surprised to see the dining room had been turned into a sports bar and the old lounge had been converted to the restaurant. I missed the old set up and was disappointed. The food was good but not great (it's been "great" whenever I was there before).
The staff at Ivy are genuine and very caring. The main entry was not super hot the way I like it but all the entries were savoury and delicious . Just make sure your food is hot!!! I thought the dining room was cold and I am usually always very warm. A fire place in your dining room would add a wonderful ambiance. As well you could turn your music up a tad so you don't here the conversation at the other tables. Keep working hard you definitely have the right thing going on. Sat in the Ontario room for valentines the tables were too Unstable and chairs not real comfy.
So, where the restaurant used to be will become a Sports Pub? Like another one of those is needed in Saskatoon. When we arrived we were seated at a small booth was that was squished in a back corner. There were a group of young gentlemen sitting around the fireplace laughing and carrying on. - they were drinking not eating. I asked to move to a table with chairs and we moved to a patio table with a black cover on it. The table was so wobbly that we spilled our drinks. Someone came and sat at that little booth and asked to be moved. And another party came in and was seated there. They too moved. Then some guy comes out with a drill and starts drilling the table behind us. They were still in reno's on the "fine dining side". I've never seen exposed drywall and drilling of tables in a "fine dining" establishment before. And the prices sure didn't change during their renovations. The manager went to a few "select" tables with young pretty ladies sitting at them and asked if they needed anything, how were their meals etc. I guess I'm not important enough to be included in his rounds and neither was a prominent business man who is very well known in the City. They seated him beside the door. We were given a wine list, we picked one, nope they don't have it, we picked another, nope. We picked a blush wine, she brought a white. We asked what blush wines she had, she said there was only one kind but there were 5 or 6 on the menu. I asked her why she didn't tell us there was only one. She said she didn't know. My husband asked for a coors light beer - no Coors Light. I asked for a Shave and a Haircut - no guinness beer - after she told me they had it . The bread was ice cold and stale. The rest of the meal was ok but the waitress was very slow and disorganized. Overall, if this is what they think fine dining is, then they need to take a course. I'm disappointed in not only the service, but the ambiance. We won't be coming back.
Great food and service.
A fantastic dining experience.
Service was above and beyond
The food was excellent. Nice and quiet atmosphere and good service.
We always enjoy our time at The Ivy. Great food, great service, always have fun. The ambience is excellent, warm and inviting.... we continue to visit, job well done to the Staff at The Ivy
We experienced great service and food was outstanding. Would definitely go back!
This where Jo and I got Engaged ,Have been back many times and now this is where wecame for our wedding meal...Thanks to all the staff your great..
We had an excellent table and our waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. We had a great time.
A friend recommended this spot and we booked a late night date night. We were not disappointed. The wine was nice. The desserts were delicious and the ambience was perfect. Our server was very friendly and helpful. One mistake with the wine, but it wasn't a big deal. Highly recommended!
The food was very good and even though the waitress seemed like she was new she was very nice. The environment was quite but very open. Overall a good experience.
We had a lovely, quiet meal. Great service. The prime rib was outstanding. Not a fan of the Coconut Shrimp; too much chile pepper and not enough coconut - saskatoons saved it.
The Carrot cake and coffee for dessert made the evening fabulous.
Great place for supper for two. Nice tables, pleasant atmosphere
Over the past few years The Ivy has become one of our favorite dining spots in Saskatoon. The quality of the food and the service are dependable . We can go there and be confident that The Ivy will not let us down. On our most recent visit we ordered prime rib and osso bucco. Both were delicious. I appreciated being able to add a small salad to my meal at a very reasonable price. This is a nice touch that is not always available at many dining places.
I thought the food was great. Old menu, but the food quality was really very good. Service was good and the restaurant was clean, modern and comfortable. I would definitely return.
