Delicious brunch. A lovely festive treat. Recommend.
We dined as a festive treat and although there was no Christmas menu the food was delicious. We both thought that there could have been more vegetables served with the meal rather than ordering them as a side.
I am beginning to be a little disappointed with the Ivy group.Suddenly many of our High Streets have an Ivy . We were excited and applauded loudly at this new arrival. But now boredom has set in. Staff turnover seems to be on the high side . The menu hardly changes.Noise levels can be high due to a combination of design issues and too many tables.Management never seems to be tight enough .
There is a rumour that most of the food is prepared off site and only heated ( if necessary) on site.Sometimes the preparation is not as good as it should be for the prices charged .
However, an Ivy on your High Street is an advantage and invariably is a better experience when compared against other “chains”.
Don’t be put off going but the ambience and decor are often more appealing than the food and drink . An Ivy is not a gourmet
experience . The wrapper is good but sometimes the content leaves much to be desired.
Food quality very average on this occasion - really disappointed - not at all as good as usual
good ambience, feels a quality venue, attentive staff, interesting and varied menu, pretty swift service and attention. will go again!
I’ve been here several times and always have a wonderful experience.
The only thing that let it down this time is that they forgot my mother in laws tea. ( and that’s just me being picky)
I love it here for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.
We were sat in the corner of the room where there was no light. We told the waitress this and was told to use our mobile phones. Very bad service, was a Birthday meal and we were very disappointed, as it is expensive restaurant therefore we expect good service and this did not happen.
My boyfriend and I had a most enjoyable evening at the ivy Cobham, excellent food and service, we will definitely return in the near future.
Fish (blackened cod) as main was stone cold when it arrived. Sent it back and then it came back luke warm such a shame as couldn’t enjoy main feeling it wasn’t cooked properly. I wasn’t in the mood to complain that night!!
Had wanted to try the ivy but after trying many other restaurants that offer steak I would say the ivy is very bland , peppercorn had no flavour , steak soft but nothing more to it and chips possibly over cooked so wouldn’t return
Perfect place to celebrate my daughter's 18th!!! Great service, great food 😉
Excellent meal and very attentive staff who were extremely professional but friendly and helpful.
It was our first visit to Cobham brasserie and we were pleasantly surprised by how vibey the restaurant was. It has great décor, lively atmosphere without the sense of it being stuffy at all. We had the afternoon tea which for £26 (champagne version) is probably not that expensive. The sweet part was actually quite good, scones were warm and yummy and the other pastries were also enjoyable. Bit stingy with the jam but they were happy to refill upon request so all good. We weren't overly enamoured with the savoury part which I actually think I could have been a bit more creative and interesting whilst still sticking to tradition. We were given one finger of cucumber sandwich, one finger of salmon on a brown rye bread (I think) and a small chicken & truffle brioche. We requested one more finger of cucumber and one more brioche and nearly fell off our seats when we saw we'd been charged £7 for the refill. Not sure how they get away with charging £7 for a sliver of white bread with cucumber and a small chicken brioche. Typically, refills are not added to the bill so it was a double-shock. Despite this, we did have an overall enjoyable experience. It's a lovely brasserie with friendly and excellent service and we will defo go back to try the menu as the food looked good.
A wonderful afternoon tea! The sandwiches, scones and sweet treats were all equally delicious although the creme brulee doughnut was my favourite! Great service too.
Wonderful treat for early Christmas lunch with a girlfriend. Wished we could’ve stayed all evening and enjoyed some cocktails, next time!
Were delighted with our table, food and wines. The service was also good.
Great food, service and atmosphere. We had a late booking will go earlier next time and start with cocktails.
Under staffed , below average food .
Just because it looks fancy don’t be fooled .
Been 3 times now and got worse every time .
Would never go back !
I have been to the Ivy quite a few times in the past year but after having a meal there on friday night I wouldn’t rush back. No sooner as we were given the menus the lights went so low we couldn’t read the menu and everyone had to use the torch on their phones to be able to see.
The service was so slow, it took at least half an hour to clear plates after we had finished eating and a few drinks that were ordered never showed up!
It was very loud, we struggled to have conversation and as the noise got louder people were literally shouting at one another to the point it was unbearable.
It was not a great evening but an expensive one, which I feel was not worth the money.
A noisy busy restaurant with a very small car-park. My portion of "The Ivy Shepherds Pie" was extremely small & was very over-priced and the meat was nothing special at all.. Our friend asked for a burger without cheese but it arrived with cheese and had to be replaced. My side order of broccolli arrived quite a bit earlier than my main course and had to be returned to be heated. We had eaten here before but are reluctant to return as it no longer offers value for money. A huge disappointment.
Would have been nice to have a Christmas menu! It was our office Christmas luncheon and we had mentioned this to the restaurant
As always a superb experience. The service is second to none
Buzzy, noisy place, attractive decor. Staff rushed off their feet but still efficient never the less. Enjoyed my meal.
Really poor service. So slow. Apologetic staff but they were not truthful about what had happened to our order. (It’s being played up now...... and then we waited 30 minutes more for it to arrive).
Eggs were cold on one dish. Plates were cold. Toast was served too early ahead of the food, so it was cold by the time the plated up food arrived. Not enough space on the round table for all items (clear the used coffee cups quicker would have helped). The restaurant was busy but not full. Plenty of staff around. Lovely setting and atmosphere. We were there for brunch as everyone was short on time - it took 1 hour 40 to get served. Too slow.
Sorry - really disappointing. We did appreciate the discounted bill. Thank you .
The Yvy is very pleasant, great décoration and ambiance. The service is good and attentive. The food was good, apart from a steak we had to send back, way overcooked.
Will definetaly come back. The manager, richard, is a gréât host!
Great service & excellent food. Recommend the chocolate bomb!
We had a lovely time from starter to desert , great food and fantastic and quick service from friendly and helpful staff.
My friends and I had a lovely lunch, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The only issue in the immediate area is parking.
I tested my friend for her V’day. Thank you for Nini B’day sweet! Very kind thought.
Consistently good food and service. Gets very noisy though. Waitress very attentive and helpful
The staff are excellent and attention to detail and clients requirements is perfect
Lovely restaurant which is a little upmarket but not too expensive. The waiters are very attentive and the food is delicious. It has a busy vibe.
We enjoyed our evening as a preChristmas get together. My main complaint is that there were six in our party and we had ordered expensive pink champagne, and good quality wines. Every time our waitress filled the glasses, there was only a dribble left after she had served five, and she held up the bottle saying " Would you like another one?" Is this part of the training for staff at The Ivy to sell more wine?
As soon as we walked in a lovely buzzing atmosphere but not too noisy, attentive staff, perfect table we could watch what was going on including the barmans cocktail mixing skills. Sophisticated decor, liked the series of rooms. Although near the entrance no drafts the entry layout cleverly negated that problem. Glad to see house wine not too expensive.
Lovely venue and atmosphere. The rissotto was bland - a poor choice but my fellow diners enjoyed their meals. The chocolate bomb for pudding saved the day - absolutely gorgeous. Would go again but wouldn't have the rissotto.
I made a mistake with the time I booked restaurant but they were really good and changed time for us.
Lovely corner table as requested, staff very friendly and gave good service. Usually go to the Wimbledon ivy but will be coming back to Cobham. Food great looking forward to going back soon.
Have been at the restaurant numerous times. This time didn’t quite meet expectations on food quality
We had a lovely time at the Ivy Brasserie. The service could have been slightly more attentive, recognising when we were out of drinks by asking us if we wanted more but it was unusually busy for a Monday and the waitress was doing a great job not letting it show.
The food was really tasty and the atmosphere intimate but with a buzz.
Very bad value for money, small and then having to purchase extra vegetables. This is the second time this has happened to me at an Ivy ... if this is going to be the trend I’ll be moving my custom on. Sorry and a shame, love the concept but food is what you go for!!!
We had a family brunch on Monday and it was our first time to the Cobham Ivy. The service was great, food was lovely and we will definitely be back
