Love the Ivy at Cobham. We have been to couple of other Ivy restaurants, but the one at Cobham is better overall - service, food and interior.
Everyone knew it was granny’s birthday which made her birthday brunch!! Good food, good service.
The Ivy in Cobham is fantastic! Everything is perfect from start to finish. I highly recommend this venue for an awesome dining experience.
Really enjoyed all aspects of this restaurant. And not as expensive as I had always expected bearing in mind the famous celebrity-going restaurant in London.
Another great Ivy experience much enjoyed by all
One minor point waiter forgot our drinks order and we had to chase, a 20 minute wait which was disappointing
Thanks for a very enjoyable evening, and on our 30th Wedding Anniversary. All food, drinks, and service were great. We hope to return again very soon.
Great as usual, Thank You to All the Staff.
We spend good Time on good food and drinks.
Dinner to celebrate my birthday. Food was nice. They didn’t have my first choice and I’m vegan so I had no choice but the one other vegan option. Service was poor. Waiter was lacking in any personality whatsoever. Took forever to take our order. Didn’t remember to bring ketchup for the children or my glass of wine. He made a point of telling me that he had taken the second glass of wine off the bill! I should hope so too, seeing as it didn’t materialise even though I asked twice. Sadly no personal service. Lovely food and setting let down by dreary staff. Perhaps Monday night isn’t the best time for them.
We were very pleased with our experience and felt the occasion was very well handled. The only complaint would be the car parking which is to be expected given the location
Lovely location- food good - service sadly v slow on this occasion & food coming in stages after chasing. Was busy but still have never had service problems in the past. Wouldn’t stop me going back or stop me recommending to others but ... hope it was a one off.
The service was awful. It took us an hour to get drinks, and every one was wrong. It was terribly slow service. The waitress was awful. She was over busy, barely spoke English. She didn’t understand our order, and we couldn’t understand what she said either.
We wanted to get dessert, but ran out of time as it was 11pm by the time we got mains.
Afternoon tea was rather disappointing
Sandwiches were rather a mean affair considering we were paying £27.50each
I have had other meals which were better value. No loose tea just teabags.
Service was appalling, the table wasn't ready when we arrived so we sat at the bar, it took about 10 minutes before we were asked if we wanted to order a drink. Their was a party of 3, however the table we were given was big enough for 2 so we were extremely squashed (wasn't enough space for us all to have side plates). There was hardly any staff, I had to go and find someone to make an order. Food on the day was bland and was sent back.
I have been to a lot of IVY's, usually i have fantastic service but this was very very disappointing. Not what I would usually expect at all.
Having been a few times now, I think the level of service is definitely deteriorating from when it first opened. For example we were not offered water when we sat down, and when we were ordering our meal the fish of the day was not offered. We were not asked if everything was OK with our meals during the meal, but afterwards. Small things I know, but something I know the Ivy likes to get right. One other point is that you do not offer your customers a choice of skinny chips, only fat ones, which meant I couldn't order the meal I wanted (I detest fat chips). Would you be able to offer your customers a choice of skinny or fat chips in the future?.
Great birthday brunch with usual good levels of service at just the right pace.
Good selection of dishes - something for everyone.
Lovely decor, warm welcome at reception , all the waiting staff very charming . Unfortunately the food was disappointing. My sister had the shepherds pie which is described as the signature dish, it was a small portion for the price and nothing special with hardly any potato on top, I could have made a better one myself. I had the fish cake which was quite dry and would have been better served with a sauce.
Overall ok but wouldn’t return
Great service and friendly, helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere and a good buzz about the place.
I took my daughter for weekend brunch and both our meals were excellent.
Very good value for money.
Looking forward to my next visit.
Fine dining and sensible prices. great décor and good service.
Its always a pleasure coming to the Ivy, If friends are staying we always go for breakfast or lunch. And if possible have our special occasions at the Ivy
Lovely brunch in Cobham. We had pastries and fresh orange juice followed by full English for my daughter and coffee with avocado, egg, tomato and sesame on granary for me.
Service is outstanding, experienced, professional attentive.
Art Deco interior and the conservatory are fabulous. Linen, flowers, lovely crockery and cutlery etc.
Prices for brunch really aren’t far off for example Bills and the whole experience is far better.
The not so good - Table booked for 9.15pm. We were told our table wasn’t ready but we could have a drink at the bar. We were finally seated at 9.50pm at the table at the the end of the conservatory. By that time in the evening it was a bit chilly. No apologies made for table delay. Our waitress struggled to open our wine then nearly poured red wine into used white wine glasses. First started choice not available.
The good - Started of squid and prawn very good and a nice portion. Main course of lamb shoulder also good. The bar and restaurant area well decorated and buzzing.
Great food, lovely restaurant. Varied menu and good cocktail and wine selection. Front of house could be more friendly and welcoming. Pre-dinner drinks difficult when restaurant is busy as the bar area is small and was overcrowded.
I would recommend The Ivy for a special occasion. The food was wonderful and service exceptionally good - discreet, polite and nothing too much trouble. I checked the box on booking online to say it was for a birthday - a common marketing tool for the chains to swamp you with offers but actually they bought out a little cake with happy birthday on. A lovely thoughtful touch.
Excellent experience - great food, outstanding service and perfect atmosphere for a birthday celebration.
Will definitely be back again soon.
Were given a terrace table as requested which was much appreciated. Our server seemed to be a bit nervous, or shakey for some reason although attentive. The food was ok, but I've had better for the cost and having dined here now 5 or 6 times it wasn't as wow as it had been previously. We had a fairly long wait between courses also. The car park btw is a nightmare, we watched one man in a very expensive car reverse into another very expensive car and we had quite a job squeezing into a badly marked space.
I would probably return, but there are lots of Ivy grills around the area and I think it's time to try another one.
This deceptively spacious restaurant is beautifully decorated and even has external tables in the delightful garden. The weekend brunch menu has a perfect range of delicious food, some new twists on old classics ( avocado eggs benedict) plenty of variety and all at very reasonable prices. The service is delightful, attentive without being pushy or sycophantic. A lovely venue for birthday treats and people watching.
The Cobham Ivy has become one of my favourites.Beautiful outdoor space, staff friendly & helpful & great service.
Will definitely be going back.
We visited The Ivy Cobham for breakfast on my wife's birthday. The whole experience was just perfect with goo food and faultless service. Thank you to all the staff for making it so enjoyable.
Great atmosphere, delicious food....what more could you want!
Outstanding, myself and the wife loved it. Maybe slightly bigger portions for such an expensive meal.
Having dined here on numerous occasions , we took our son for dinner for his 20th birthday. Sadly the experience was not good. We were raced through our meal by the waiter and then sat and had to ask for the bill which we waited for ages for.. with empty glasses. Really disappointing evening.. plus the noise level was dreadful.. you could hardly hear eachother speak.
Great food and service and super atmosphere and decor
Another cracking part of the Ivy crew comes to Cobham — and it does not disappoint.
I chose fish and chips but thought the batter was slightly too oily and should have been more crispy
Otherwise overall it was very good. Service and presentation excellent.
Would definitely go again.
Fabulous breakfast, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere 😊
Great breakfast en-route to our holiday. Very friendly service and delicious food. Love the decor.
Was ok staff are nice, food mediocre and ambiance is lovely- we go there becasue its close to home and no other place to go.
This is my sixth visit here at Cobham since opening and my most disappointing! Have loved it here and have taken a few friends and recommended this restaurant, have experienced breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea and a few evening meals, all have been first class.
The main problem was service this time and the first time this has failed. We waited along time for drinks and food, had to ask a few times and chase drinks, I do hope The Ivy isn’t losing its way as it was the best restaurant in this area. Yes it was busy but it usually is and there seemed to be a lot of staff around so not sure what happened.
Couldn't fault anything apart from being asked to vacate our table at 9.20pm, we were offered a seat at the bar but it just felt a bit rushed, apart from that everything was perfect, it was a bit noisy (you had to almost shout across the table to each other) but then if you are a popular restaurant thats what you would expect. Overall brilliant and would definitely recommend.
Lovely food and very efficient service. Would definitely go back.
