The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie
Been about 20 times before , this time our food was cold, service slow, wasn’t busy, not surprised.
Excellent food and service.
Not bad. Not as good as I was expecting. We had to ask for water three times before some was brought to the table. And the time between starter and main course being brought out was ~50 min and arrived around 10 min after we enquired where our main course was. Nothjing we ordered would have taken that long to cook. And restaurant was only 1/4 to 1/3rd full.
Peas with the fish chips stone cold
Steak sandwich was all bread
Drinks over priced
The restaurant was very hot, too hot to enjoy the food.
But the service was prompt and not pushy. Let us enjoy our drinks after dinner. Accommodating for a prom/baby with us.
Worst service. Waiter started clearing the plates while we were still eating.
Nice setting with colorful decoration. The service was polite but not always present. The food took a very long time to be served. We were for breakfast on Sunday so I guess the chef in the kitchen may not be present. We had ordered two egg Benedict ... and both came overcooked the yok was not running ... presentation of the food and drinks was good only not a smooth experience. Could improve with better train staff. Overall we liked it but needs improvments
Great place and nice service to begin with. Lovely starters but let down by poor mains, especially the butternut squash dish. We were then planning desserts but waited 20mins for our plates to be cleared and only after asking for them to be taken.
Impeccable service from entering the door, right through to our departure, fantastic food, presentation was excellent, table service was invisible until necessary, perfect meal in fantastic atmosphere, very nice decor, couldn't fault anything. Massive thanks to everyone involved.
Hi, have been to Ivy in soho regularly over the years and never had a problem before. Been once to Cambridge for lunch and had a nice meal. Saturday we tried a dinner service and have to say we were very disappointed. Service was good, ambience was ok - very busy but I guess it was 7 on a Saturday night. The food was the real disappointment. Starters ok but mains were a disaster. Sole Meurniere was dry and salmon skin stringy and slimy. Such a shame given previous experiences. Spoke to Maitre D on the way out who seemed surprised that I felt the experience was just OK. Got the feeling he expected us to be more positive. At £90 a head I sort of expected more. I am only writing this public review as my private review didn’t elicit a response.
Excellent service. Food was lovely fantastic atmosphere. Can't wait to go back
Having been to both London and Manchester Ivy which I would go back to both, this Ivy NO. The layout and setting not right, Restrooms are a hike.
But worst was our waitress, with the old water scam, ask my wife if she wanted water, unfortunately she said still expecting tap water. So a bottle of water went around, they say it was two bottles but they only half filled 7 glasses. When I queried the bill two bottles of still water £3.99 *2 £7.98 + service at 12.5% is total £8.98 for seven small glass es of water! Waitress with a sarcastic smile said I poured out two bottles.
This anger me and ending up in an arugment with the wife, a lovely family meal ruined by this.
* Beware ask for tap water ----- Tap water only**
Great food and good staff
Friendly staff, beautiful setting, lovely food. A great place to come if you want that added level of service for an extra special occasion
Lovely lunch , great ambience but the service was dreadfully slow. We made the staff aware of the problem . Without having to ask they tok something off the bill and we left feeling content that the problem had been recognised.
It was really noisy (barely possible to chat), we asked for a second wine glass and the waiter forgot about it. Food was more or less ok, apart from the fish which was “ swimming” in liquid butter though. Unfortunately it could have been better.
Excellent service ⭐️ Cocktails were great 👍🏼 food was bliss 😇
The food was lovely, but I picked the wrong thing. The table was a bit cramped. The drinks were very expensive. I would recommend it as a treat.
The food was lovely, and we were well looked after.
This was our 1st visit and we will certainly be returning, the food was excellent. Staff were amazing, attentive and charming, atmosphere was lovely.
Great place to eat with a very sophisticated and well balanced environment. Food and service were equally exceptional. Highly recommend
We have now visited The Ivy a few times now and never been disappointed.
The one tiny complaint we had on our last visit was dealt with efficiently and satisfactorily.
Look forward to our next visit
Thank you to all at The Ivy
I took a friend from New Zealand for lunch. My friend was very impressed with the decor, she ordered the butternut squash which she said was delicious I had the salmon and smoked haddock fish cake with poached egg which was also delicious . The young lady who served us was polite friendly and efficient. Altogether avery enjoyable lunch.
there'd was nothing I could really fault, with the exception of a very noisy table nearby which, at times, was so loud, it was difficult to have a normal conversation.
I have been to the ivy many times and once again it did not disappoint. Good food and a lovely restaurant to meet a friend and have a wonderful lunch.
Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and incredible service
Lovely Brasserie decor was nice staff very friendly. Attentive. Food. Was great But £3.95 for a coffee or a pot of tea was pricy
The lunch was very enjoyable. The food was excellent as was the Champagne.
I had a lovely birthday meal there. It was quiet at 6pm but I felt as it filled up the ambiance may change. Unfortunately no organic wine available ( with no added sulphites) - ordinary wine causes an allergic reaction. So had a Prosecco instead. A bit of a rush at the end as we had theatre tickets but our waiter was exceptional! Got there in time...
Excellent service from our waitress made a truly excellent impression excellent member of your team
Good choice on menu and good value. Drinks on the slightly expensive side, but didn't detract from a very good meal
The restaurant has lovely decor, the staff are extremely polite and friendly, the overall ambience is very good and the food is of reasonable quality, quite surprised that you could only order wine by the glass, probably more profitable for them, have eaten better for the money but overall very pleased and would eat there again.
A great place to dine, enjoy the company and relax.
The crispy duck salad and the iberico pork chop and the rump of lamb were well executed and delicious. The chocolate orange negroni made a good dessert. It's hard to find food this good in Cambridge.
The main menu was varied and there was an excellent vegetarian menu. Even though the restaurant is quite expensive the food is excellent. Lots of lovely flavours and textures. Surroundings were lovely. Great for a special occasion as it was our daughters 21st.
Enjoyed the meal a bit of a mix up on our sides they went to another table. Other than that excellant
Birthday Sunday lunch. Fab time thank you. Service helpful and courteous. Food delicious.
We had a fantastic evening at The Ivy. The food was delicious, the service was great. We had someone or the other attending to us through out the evening, checking with us to see if we needed anything and if the food and drink were okay. Great ambience and value for money. Would definitely recommend it.
Poor service staff unable to cope on a busy Saturday night.
Restaurant was exceptionally warm - multiple tables were mopping their brows
Drinks service was slow - over twenty minutes for a glass of fizz ( no cocktails)
Food great, service brilliant - even picked up that we were there for a birthday even though we hadn’t said and brought out a cup cake with a candle! Only downer was the noise level, very loud which was a real shame as otherwise it was a great experience.
