The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie
We had a fantastic evening at The Ivy. The food was delicious, the service was great. We had someone or the other attending to us through out the evening, checking with us to see if we needed anything and if the food and drink were okay. Great ambience and value for money. Would definitely recommend it.
Poor service staff unable to cope on a busy Saturday night.
Restaurant was exceptionally warm - multiple tables were mopping their brows
Drinks service was slow - over twenty minutes for a glass of fizz ( no cocktails)
Food great, service brilliant - even picked up that we were there for a birthday even though we hadn’t said and brought out a cup cake with a candle! Only downer was the noise level, very loud which was a real shame as otherwise it was a great experience.
A great atmosphere and excellent service from the very moment you walk through the door. Good quality food and superb cocktails (thank you Liam). Worth spending time at the bar after or before your meal. The bar staff do all they can to impress.
Great food, very poor service, very long waiting times without explanation or apologies.
Interesting menu, excellent food, splendid decor, great service
A fabulous birthday lunch thank you to all the staff who couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful. Attention to detail was second to none!
We will revisit.
Once again we had the most wonderful time at the ivy,the food was fabulous and the service was amazing!
Fantastic atmosphere excellent service and wonderful food!
Poor unprofessional service. After complaining an attempt to rectify the situation was made but afraid the damage was done. The restaurant would benefit from a few mystery diners.
Excellent food great place
Bombe is the best dessert EVER. Very welcoming atmosphere - we were early so enjoyed an excellent cocktail at the bar which was very comfortable. Try the salmon fish cake ... delicious. I imagine you always need to book but we’ll worth it
Lovely decor, great food and good service. Would definitely recommend.
Just thecplace to go on a winter wet day to have lunch.
Visiting The Ivy with my daughter who is on holiday from Australia, was a truly special occasion.
Such a pleasure to have the undivided attention of a delightful waiter certainly made the experience one to remember. Absolutely love the decor which transports you to another era. If I was being very picky, I would have to say my food could have been a little hotter than it was but it did not detract from the whole experience. Will definitely visit again. Thank you.
Been to London Ivy counless times and this is third visit to Cambridge branch. Love the restaurants ambience...nicely done.
My main problem is the vegetarian and Vegan menu. Hardly inspiring. I am vegan partner veggie. I always think that a salad is a real cop out and refuse to order one. Would love to come more often but quite frankly simply not enough good choices for us to do so.
The staff were friendly and generally efficient and our waiter dealt with the wine problem swiftly.
Staff were so kind and welcoming, food as ever was amazing!
Excellent attentive service from the start, food is outstanding quality at a mid range price ambience is little loud so not a place for a quiet dinner though.
Really good meal, friendly helpful staff, great bar as well
Took our mum out for dinner for her birthday and she absolutely loved it, staff were so helpful and friendly. Lovely touch to bring her out a small birthday scone which was delicious along with all the other food we had. Would definitely come back here !
Impeccable service, excellent food and very attractive dining room. Will definitely return.
Food was very nice, but we had to wait for a long time to have our food.
Too many waiters were continuosly walking close to our table and we coudn't relax.
Apart from that, the Ivy is still one of the best restaurant in Cambridge.
A bit of a wait for our table, but probably to be expected on a busy Saturday night. Once we were seated, we received very attentive service and the food arrived piping hot and delicious. Surroundings are extremely comfortable and, despite the proximity of the other tables, it felt cosy and private. Food, drinks and service were all excellent. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side.
Good food and good service at a reasonable price. However the restaurant is a little noisy, partly due to the unnecessary piped music and partly due to lots of people talking with little to attenuate the noise.
A lovely pre Christmas treat, food was amazing & a great amount of choice for everyone. Would recommend as a special treat.
brilliant steak. Salted Caramel Espresso Martinis were absolutely amazing but very pricy in comparison to the size.
70th birthday, attentive staff and nice atmosphere- even gave us a little cake for dad at the end. Recommend highly
Excellent as always. Tasty food. Great for a special occasion. Lovely decor. Not the cheapest meal out but a little treat.
Waited 50 minutes for afternoon tea to arrive when it did the sandwiches were dry and hard. I did complain and was brought some more which were the same. The cakes desserts and scones were delicious.
My husband and I went for lunch on Saturday and arrived early but were shown to the bar where we enjoyed cocktails before our meal. We were escorted to our table and had a most enjoyable meal and a very friendly and courteous waiter who took care of all our needs.
Food delightful is a little cool when it arrived but the service and experience didn’t make it important enough to mention at the time. Friendly and efficient service
I chose The Ivy for my husband's 50th birthday which was on the actual day we had lunch there. It was fine until dessert. Mine and my daughter's sorbets were brought out firstly without any cutlery and secondly about 5 minutes before a poor excuse of a microscopic dessert with a sad looking candle stuck in it was brought out for my husband. My daughter and I had to sip our sorbets because they had melted as a result of the waiting. To make matters even worse we had to ask the waiter for some cutlery so that my husband could eat his pathetic birthday dessert. We then had to pay the full whack and I certainly left kicking myself for choosing an allegedly prestigious and special restaurant to celebrate a very special birthday. Frankly we could have gone to Pizza Express and had a better experience for a fraction of the price! We will never be able to forget how my husband's 50th birthday lunch ended - sadly with disappointment! Never again will I be spending by hard-earned money at The Ivy.
What a lovely lunch celebrating a 50th Birthday. A warm welcome, faultless service and the most delicious food helped make this a lunch to remember.
Visited as a treat for my mother in laws birthday. It was fantastic! We were half an hour early but it wasn’t a problem and we were shown to our table. Service was very prompt, food was delicious. When we had finished our food they brought a small cake out with a candle, that was very thoughful
Food is always great, however the service can be a little slow. They seem to have a strange way of pacing the service. We ordered cocktails and a bottle sparkling water - the cocktails took a long time, and only a min or so before the cocktails, we got the water... likewise, the wine we ordered was only presented to us right before our main course came out.. (even tho we had ordered starters) vs us having it on the table and being able to drink throughout... Also, not a 'slow' thing, but the main course comes out in fairly quick succession to the starters... thinking that they must fire the main courses as soon as as the starters go out... would like a little more pacing between courses... but overall, we like the Ivy, and the ambiance is always good..
Very average and very expensive provincial off shoot of a great restaurant. Not the real thing.
Our first visit was a very positive experience: friendly staff, enjoyable food (with a wide choice) and reasonably priced wine.
Very classy restaurant with a nice chilled out vibe. Made to feel very welcome, service was brilliant and the staff were very friendly
We really enjoyed our meal, but the noise from a table of 5 women was horrendous.
Great place to meet up with friends
