Ivy Cafe, Wimbledon
Open seven days a week and comprised of a ground floor restaurant, intimate garden terrace and private first-floor dining room, The Ivy Café provides the perfect setting for any occasion.
A number of tables remain unreserved throughout the day allowing you to sample our range of café-style menus at your leisure from breakfast until late, whether you are a local resident, work close by or are simply visiting the area.
Pretty disappointed with my latest visit to the Ivy Wimbledon (despite having visiting the restaurant a number of times - also using their upstairs private dining on one occasion).
On arriving at the restaurant, we were asked to wait for our table 'at the bar' (we arrived right on time). We were, however, asked to stand next to the bar, with no seats - in the way of waiting staff entering and exiting the kitchen. We stood here for about 5 minutes and were only seated after we complained with the staff and suggested that we were about to leave. There was no apology at this point.
Really ruined the whole experience for me and my family - especially my wife - as this was meant to be a her birthday celebration.
The waitress provided good service - when we mentioned this to her, she apologised for her colleagues and the restaurant offered one of the desserts on the house.
After this experience, not sure I would want to go there again.
Initially our table of 6 seemed to be ignored and we had to ask a waiter to take our drinks order! From then, service was much more attentive,
Crispy Duck salad starter was tasty. I felt the blackened Cod lacked flavour.
Ambience was good, although the door to the garden was open (in January!) and rather cold.
Excellent staff. Friendly and welcoming. Good food and well presented but could have been a little more generous. Nice table but the general noise level made conversation difficult. No part of the main restaurant was quieter.
Love this place for it’s beautiful setting, ambience and always feels like a real treat. Our waiter was charming and helpful but the only reason for not giving 5 stars for food is because the chips were quite greasy and over cooked. Will still be going back though !
Fab evening, however turned up for booking and sent to pub over the road as table wasn’t ready and bar to busy, came back got placed at bar as table still not ready. Once seated, good food, service and ambiance
Booked to celebrate 3 birthdays - food was excellent - service excellent - there were 5 of us and had quite a small round table which made it very difficult to eat from once all the drinks, water and starters were on the table so constantly moving stuff around.
To en the evening our lovely waitress arrived with three mini birthday cakes which was a lovely touch
the table i was at was great. Table 36 is also a good one. if you get the 'wrong ' table it is not always as relaxing as the last 2 times i have been there
Great evening with a girlfriend very good service and food and have just recommended to another friend
Excellent service from the moment we arrived-the receptionist was very helpful in rearranging the booking time due to my guest being delayed due to travel issues,
The greeting was friendly and both the food and service of a very high standard.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
The service was excellent from the minute we walked in to the minute we left: very attentive without being intrusive. There was a great choice of food on the menu and the dishes we chose were very good indeed. Absolutely no complaints at all: a really lovely evening.
The service was a bit slow, we wait for our main course quite a bit.
Excellent evening. Very good food. Great attention for my daughter’s birthday 😀 we will go back
I'm a regular at Ivy Chelsea Garden with two friends I meet up there. I've been to Ivy Wimbledon Village twice - en famille - before our visit this week and have booked also for next week with a friend. The menus offer a mix of dependable favourites and new dishes, and the restaurants have a calm, very attractive ambiance that makes one feel more as if one's in a club rather than a restaurant. That's the thing about the Ivy; delicious combination of great food plus this club-like atmosphere, which makes it such a super place to meet friends. On our visit last Tuesday, we had a particularly kind waiter who was absolutely wonderful; helped us pick out the wine that we liked most and thanks to him we had a specially lovely time.
Lunch with my sister in-law that was visiting London
Meeting a very dear friend for Sunday brunch I had eggs benedict & fresh orange juice. A very generous portion. We stayed for approx 2 hrs and not once made to feel that the table was needed.
I would recommend booking because the place is quite busy. It was for Sunday breakfast anyway.
Only downside, I should have asked for an extra teabag as it was a little weak for my taste. I know for next time.
Always great food and a lovely setting. A shame our first choice of wine wasn't available but it didn't matter as the one we had was tasty.
Nice Saturday evening at Ivy Cafe with good food
Another successful branch of the new Ivy expansion. One of the best in terms of ambience, just as good in terms of food and service. Surprisingly good value
Really good food and service. Great value for the price.
The chocolate bomb is...amazing!
This is the first time I have been to the Ivy in Wimbledon, the service was excellent and the food very enjoyable. I would go again.
Neither of us had been to an Ivy before - it did not disappoint! Food was delicious, we never felt rushed or encouraged to over order and the staff were all lovely. Thoroughly recommend.
Delightful setting and at tentative staff. Delicious food.
Just ok. This place hit and miss . Food is a bit boring and the service varies every time
As usual the service was amazing, food was lovely and it was outstandingly good value!
Lovely food, I love the steak sandwich and the curry. They also do a great Bloody Mary. Attentive staff that don’t hassle you too much.
As always the Ivy Cafe does give good service and food. I was only disappointed because I had asked for a small birthday cake for my friend - it was her actual birthday. It didn't arrive and I didn't want to make a big deal of it. It would have been an extra specially nice touch to the meal.
As always great service and consistent food and drink with excellent ambience. Olives or nibbles with a cocktail should be complimentary ! The assistant manager kindly removed the charge ... on principle
A very enjoyable evening with excellent food. I had a selection of starters which were delicious and very large. Especially the sourdough which was a whole loaf and as we couldn’t finish it they kindly boxed out for us to take home. The service was excellent and the restaurant was warm and cosy. Well done Wimbledon Ivy!
We came with both sets of parents pre-theatre. Everyone was very happy with their meal. As always the staff were accommodating and the food delightful. The cream tea is very reasonably priced and inventive. Portion sizes are pleasing. We may persuade our parents to visit south of the river again.
Always enjoyable. Had a front table with natural daylight which was great.
Prosecco was lovely and service was spot on if terribly busy!
The jury is still out re the shredded ham on the eggs Benedict. Could perhaps have used a bit more for flavour.
Salmon was exquisite.
Will be back.
Lovely venue, tables not too close together, all food cooked to perfection, good service
A gorgeous late lunch, perfect for catching up with a good friend. I had steak tartare- which was absolutely perfect, zucchini frittes and miso broccoli. This was my second visit and I’ll definitely be back!
Nice but drinks are expensive
Would have expected a Brunch menu to be 50/50 between lunch and breakfast menu, not mostly lunch offerings
Had to remind them about the birthday cake
Food and the service are wonderful , only has a very difficulty for the car parking experience.
We had a lovely afternoon lunch very attentive service lovely food
Great service, lovely ambiance but somewhat disappointing menu. Most probably just me, but I hate chunky chips and choices all a bit bistro style. How about some really good calves liver, for example. Just me, I guess. My friend and I had a good get together and the service was exemplary.
The Ivy in Wimbledon is a fun place to eat with a lively buzz and beautiful surroundings. I took a friend to celebrate her birthday and we loved it. Delicious food beautifully presented and excellent service. We will be back.........
Attentive and love the old building. Food vey good
All great just not sure if you’re aware the toilet handle in the disabled toilet doesn’t work. Great experience but would not expect low standard in the toilet when everything else is so good
