I love the ambience and decor of the Ivy in Tunbridge Wells and have been several times. It wraps you up as soon as you walk in the door. This time I ordered the truffle and mushroom linguine and wish I hadn't. The linguine was overcooked and I could not taste truffle at all. It was more like linguine in a mushroom soup. My friend had a stilton salad which he loved so it wasn't all bad. We didn't get asked if we wanted dessert despite being at the table for about 40 minutes post mains, even though it wasn't busy as it was afternoon. I would usually have the shepherds pie which is always delicious but expected other things on the menu to be as good. So.. not the best visit but maybe an off day.

Our first visit to The Ivy in RTW. Not impressed with the service which was really poor. Nowhere near enough waiting team checking on our table, in fact nobody checked on us at all. We had to ask for our wine to be topped up as there was no care and attention. We felt like we were just treated as a transaction. No attention at all. Won’t be back.

It's a great place which never disappoints. However, the general feeling the last couple of times is the food has gone down hill. We are fortunate to dine there a couple of times a month, but my husband is baffled the welcome is as if it's our first time. The atmosphere is always good.

This Ivy is always consistent, consistent in providing great food, a lively ambiance and first class service. This time Damian and Harry provided a polished service with a smile and good humour. Once again we had a thoroughly splendid evening.

The food was amazing. The waiting staff were attentive. It was our wedding anniversary and we were given a celebratory cake on the house.

The food was outstanding and delicious but the service was terribly slow and our waiter seemed surly, unwilling and unhappy and just disappeared between courses. His attitude was that he was above us, we did be out a lot in good restaurants so it was sad he seemed to want to make us uncomfortable. Shame. We had to ask for drinks after waiting ages at the start and ask for service through the bar staff every time we needed something so very disappointed.

Made a late reservation, the table was way too small for four adults, had to ask for things to be removed from the table to make room for food. The food was not as described, service was poor. Overall a disappointing experience made worse by the front of house staff whose inexperience showed.
