   Food lovely but nothing I couldn’t of made at home....presentation was simple.... like something from a Wetherspoons. Not much menu choice either. Covid situation makes everything uncomfortable so would be nice if places including this place could make customers feel at ease and not approach them like they’re in the wrong place. Over all was quiet and relaxing but for the £150 spent on food and drink in 2.5 hrs, I’d liked to of walked away feeling Happier. I know times are difficult so making exceptions.

   Booked up thinking we were going to The Ivy Brasserie in the middle of York, slightly confusing to have 2 restaurants with the same name in one City. However, this restaurant is in the basement of the Grange Hotel, service not great as limited staff on duty. Breakfast was ok without being great. £15.95 felt a bit steep for Salmon and Eggs... If you want to have a 3 course breakfast of toast, cereal, yoghurt and a full English etc, then probably presents some kind of value.

   Went on an Eat Out to Help Out day, and there was a restricted menu, but still a decent choice, with interesting options. Service was brilliant and I felt really looked after. Starter was absolutely delicious, main was ok - went for the veggie option - a souffle, but as a complete dish it didn't quite work, but still not bad. Dessert was lovely. Everything was well presented, really fresh, decent portions. Almost embarrassed at what the meal cost so left a decent tip! Would definitely recommend.

   Thought we'd try this out after finding The Ivy not having tables available when we wanted. I was drawn by the cozy brick enclave in the photo's but sadly disappointed to be seated outside said enclaves, and by the external door; which I thought was locked. Sadly the door was not locked and another party slowly made its way into the restaurant during our meal, bringing in a frosty winter chill (storm Dennis) while the door was open. Service could have been a lot better; after nobody checked if our entrees were OK, we literally had to flag down a member of the wait staff to return one dish, requesting that the fish be cooked through. I wouldn't say we won't go back to The Ivy Brasserie, but if we're spending over £90 on dinner for two, it wouldn't be our first choice.
