Perfect birthday lunch
Nice for a special treat, drinks are on the expensive side though.
Little disappointed in the chocolate bomb . The milk mousse was off and didn’t taste at all nice . Money taken off the bill for the dessert but that’s it . Expected more from a high end restaurant. Maybe a free drink or starter . I also asked for a set menu which was never given to me .
Service was fine, but i asked for my steak pink and when it arrived it was well done. I didn’t complain at the time however, on hindsight I should have.
The service was amazing, however the food wasn’t up to scratch, chicken was dry and the chips are not great, thanks to the service of the staff it made up for the food.
My first impression was was great, but once I had received the menu I found the lighting so poor that I needed my phone torch to view, which in my opinion shouldn’t be needed
Always love The Ivy. Beautiful building, fab decor and the food and wine are excellent too. Afternoon cream tea was a treat; there three small scones with small pots of jam and cream, perfect sizing. The accompanying champagne was great too.
I was given birthday present of voucher for afternoon tea for 2. Sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, very nice. Then a mini theatre came with desserts and we thought it came to the wrong table but this is a complimentary extra that The Ivy are doing just now. It was totally wonderfully presented and the flavours of the mini desserts was exquisite. The staff are friendly, efficient and looked after us very well. I can't wait to go again.
Lovely atmosphere great food. Perfect for shopping lunch or a special evening.
Excellent in all aspects, as usual. We absolutely loved everything.
The service was fantastic and the food exceeded our expectations. Will definitely go again.
We had a nice table in the centre of the indoor seating area. We were happy where we were as some tables were rather close (covid times)
Excellent service. Place felt clean. Food was good but not worth its price and the chips were over fried. Hard as bullets.
Nice but a little pricey.
Spectacular to celebrate an occasion and stay at Bath.
Perfect location in the middle of Bath. Lovely professional staff fabulous food and wine choices. Does not disappoint on any level highly recommend.
Very enjoyable evening with fantastic food and great ambience
Main was incredible.
However, I ordered the chocolate bomb - it came out and I’m pretty sure the cream was off, we sent it back, they sent another. Same issue, but when I said about it I felt like it was being dismissed by the waiter because no one else has said anything… but the cream tasted sour making my tongue tingle… We hardly ate any of it. I felt they could have handled the bill better than they did considering 3/4 of it was returned.
Food good, staff helpful with suggestions. Bit pricey, but perfect for a treat
It for my birthday . I am not expecting it to be special but to be decent at least. The guy serving the food doesn’t look like he is happy doing his job. The food is nothing special but pricy. The atmosphere in the room is sad and dark. I wish I could’ve spent my birthday somewhere else.
This could be just my experience and an isolated case so I hope everyone dining there will not have the same experience.
Fantastic food. Fantastic service. It was our anniversary and the surprised us with a little cake. Will definitely be returning soon.
Great service, lovely and original environment, nice afternoon tea, beautifully presented, at good value. Would definitely recommend.
Yet again a fantastic visit. The Ivy Bath never disappoints and always feels like a special occasion. Visited for belated Father’s Day with my 89 year old Dad and we were very well looked after. Food was spot on ( ate from lunch menu - good sized portions, delicious and excellent value).
Excellent choices on menu , cleaning in between guests was excellent and without doubt one of the best places to eat in Bath
A most enjoyable lunch, the set menu represents good value. Service was attentive and not intrusive. The menu had a good range of dishes including vegetarian and non alcoholic drinks. Certainly somewhere to visit again.
I was very pleased with the whole experience . Nice and pleasant.
I felt that the value for money with the set menu was very good. I went with one other person who ordered the crab cakes and chicken salad and she was very pleased with her food. I had the shredded beef which was very nice and the cod goujons and chips which were ok but the batter was quite soggy and chips a bit ough as if they had been reheated.
The staff were very friendly but I felt the service was slow.
As ever a great Ivy experience. We hadn't been to the Bath Ivy before but loved it as much as Cheltenham, Covent Garden and Clifton Village.
Service good. Breakfast food very poor. Sausages were horrible. Tough skins and obviously cooked a long while ago. Bacon was so over cooked it shattered. Mushrooms tough from being kept too long heated.
Horrible food, nice ambiance, good service but poor value. Will never go again….
Lovely evening, super fillet steak and pudding was delicious. They made us feel special for our anniversary.
Unfortunately we had to return our sole as they were both very overcooked. The wine waiter was slow to offer, and then bring, a further bottle of wine and the birthday girl's glass was the last to be topped up from the first bottle by which time the bottle was empty! Very polite apology for overcooked fish but it would have been nice to have a reduction in the bill as two of us ate our main course 15 minutes after the other two had finished which spoilt the birthday treat somewhat - it all felt a bit unsatisfactory.
Nice ambient to spend an evening. Lovely and professional staff, but compare to two years ago I have noticed, from the starter to the dessert, a lost of attention to the details and consequently the result is not the same as it was.
Chicken Milanese, the cut of the meat was not regular with the consequence of burned edge.
Apple tart, nice but I was more impressed the first time that I had.
Improve constantly and surprise the customers otherwise they became bored and start to think something different.
We had. Fabulous night at The Ivy in Bath which was complimented by our lovely waitress Claudia
Very pleased, good wine card, nice dinner! The best waiters in the Bath.
Amazing as always never had a bad meal at The Ivy. Spotlessly clean and friendly service. Can’t ask for more
We came for afternoon tea and it was delicious. The service was excellent and, most importantly, my girlfriend loved it!
We came for a belated celebration for our friend’s 50th.
The afternoon tea was delicious. The scones just melted in the mouth. And as for the “garden cakes” just Wow!
Fantastic service and meal, absolutely amazing decor and surroundings, service was prompt but not rushed and the food as always was brilliant.
Can’t wait to return again
This is top of our choice of restaurants in Bath and we have never been disappointed. The rooms are beautifully presented and the staff attentive in an understated way. Try the roof terrace weather permitting. The fish and chips was amazing. I love the chicken milanese, and my friends enjoyed the monkfish curry and chicken salad. There is plenty of choice for return visits.
The look of the Ivy is fantastic but the portion sizes and the quality of the food is mediocre for the price point. I wasn't very overwhelmed with the service either.
Great atmosphere, staff very attentive and helpful regards Coeliac diner, food very tasty, and very little wait between ordering and food arriving.
A touch expensive for what we had, but this is clear from online menu prior to our visit, so if this likely to bother you don't go.
Aside from the usual Covid bo!#ocks a very pleasant meal.
steak was not of a good quality and my daughter was unable to have a full meal, however the situation was dealt with and resolved to our satisfaction
. The waiter was FANTASTIC c , really nice manner nothing was to much trouble for him
Not your normal repetitive chain restaurant menu some different dishes eg Peruvian chicken. Some dishes did need a side dish eg vegetables or fries. The chocolate bombe was too die for absolutely yummy.
