Ive been to Ivy Asia a few times. We were greated friendly by the front desk staff. Taken to our table and asked if we needed anything. We asked for tap water for the table. A bar waitress came over then with a single glass of ice which we were very confused about. We asked her again for the water for the table. She came back with water but no glass for me. She was a bit clueless, maybe new and myself and my friend instantly though, oh here we go 🤦‍♀️ but then we met Joseph. And he was AMAZING!! So friendly and welcoming. Chatty and was there if we needed him. Came to check on us, and got us anything we needed or still were waiting on. I never pay service charge as i dont believe in it, as the staff are paid a wage anyway. But i paid as the service from Joseph was spot on. If i could have just gave the service charge to him i would have.

Once again excellent food at Ivy Asia. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had the Dragon Set Menu and the value for money was amazing. Crispy wantons to start and a choice of a starter and main for £19.95. After disappointing service the last time I visited I can happily say this time the service was as excellent as the food. Definitely recommend when visiting Cardiff ☺️

We recently booked a table at Ivy Asia to celebrate my dad’s birthday, it was our first time dining there! While the atmosphere was beautiful and the food was genuinely excellent with generous portion sizes, the overall experience was sadly let down by the service, which was extremely poor. It was a Wednesday evening and surprisingly quiet-only two other tables were occupied when we arrived. Despite this, there was no one to greet me when I arrived late, and it took quite some time for anyone to bring us menus. Throughout the evening, we had to ask multiple times for basic things-three times just to find out where our drinks were, and again to have our table cleared after mains. We also had to request the dessert menu ourselves, which took so long to arrive that one of our guests ended up walking over to a staff member to ask for it. The most disappointing part was that we had specifically called ahead to request a dessert with a candle for my dad’s birthday, to be brought out after the main course. This was completely forgotten until we reminded them. There was a clear lack of attention throughout the evening, and it felt like no one was managing the floor. The staff seemed disorganised and unsure of what was going on, which ultimately left us feeling ignored and frustrated. It’s such a shame because we really loved the setting and the food, but the service was simply not acceptable, especially for a birthday dinner. Unfortunately, this has left us with no desire to return.

The two course lunch is very good value. The standard of food is perfect with fantastic fresh ingredients and flavours . Also the cocktails here are the very best

The food and service was excellent my only question is why does the food come out in odd numbers when you are serving a table for 2?

General setting and experience was good. I found table a little too close together where we sat, felt like we were too often interrupted by those next to us by either unintentionally catching eye contact or overhearing hearing each other conversations. Food was generally great, although I found my lobster and duck rice really dry. Service was generally great too, although server wasn't sure of ingredients in Food when queried something and drink server didn't seem sure on names of whiskey ordered.
