Incredible decor, delicious food, theatrically presented. DJ was a nice touch too. Service was pretty good, drinks took a while to come so was without wine when food was served which wasn’t ideal. Kitchen must have had issues with allergies as they refused to serve gyozas without the vegan mayonnaise (we just wanted the gyozas on the plate but were told they must be placed on top of the mayonnaise even if we didn’t want it). So ended up having to order something else. But the waiter we had was brilliant.

The food was ok but the service was bad. We were 10 minutes late and I apologised but the first woman was so rude and arrogant. I had booked it as a birthday meal which we asked about on arrival but they did absolutely nothing to mark the occasion. The service was awful and very slow. We weren't given any cutlery with starters and had to ask but they didn't give us napkins. My friend helped herself from the waiters station. Then the service charge was £20 which I really resent for such a bad experience. All in all we felt really unwelcome and like an inconvenience.

Waiter was not very attentive. We had to ask another server for drinks as she was no where in sight. Asked for limes for drink and she said yes and then carried on with other tables. Eventually got up and got them myself from the bar. It’s a shame as this was our 2nd visit and the 1st was 100% incredible. Service is included in the bill but would definitely not have been so generous!

I had never visited the Ivy Asia in Brighton before, but was expecting a great atmosphere & a comfortable space. When I booked only outside seating was available, so I booked knowing how the Ivy managed to create comfortable areas to eat outside. However, I was surprised to find that the few tables that were literally across the pavement & Roadside were the outside space at this restaurant! Metal bistro tables & chairs that were v basic, great for a drink but certainly not the environment to spend £70 pp plus. Especially when Ivy is all about comfort; in fact the interior looked incredible & had a live dj etc, all excluded from the “outside tables”. They couldn’t fit us inside so after a few minutes staring at derelict shops across the road, we left.

Overall good. The negative was it was very hot in the restaurant so I assume it isn’t air conditioned or it was off, it was a hot day. The service was very efficient, they run a very well oiled machine. Value was ok but the price point for some of the dishes seemed high, particularly the side dishes, for example; a small dish of plain steamed rice was very small and the rice a bit sticky, for the price it was expensive. Some dishes were superb.
