Nestled in the heart of Brighton’s historic quarter, the brick-paved Lanes, The Ivy Asia Brighton is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and much more.

Savour a menu as rich and varied as the diverse cultures that span the continent of Asia. With pan-Asian classics alongside incredible vegetarian and plant-based options, there’s something to please all. Waiter was not very attentive. We had to ask another server for drinks as she was no where in sight. Asked for limes for drink and she said yes and then carried on with other tables. Eventually got up and got them myself from the bar. It’s a shame as this was our 2nd visit and the 1st was 100% incredible. Service is included in the bill but would definitely not have been so generous!

I had never visited the Ivy Asia in Brighton before, but was expecting a great atmosphere & a comfortable space. When I booked only outside seating was available, so I booked knowing how the Ivy managed to create comfortable areas to eat outside. However, I was surprised to find that the few tables that were literally across the pavement & Roadside were the outside space at this restaurant! Metal bistro tables & chairs that were v basic, great for a drink but certainly not the environment to spend £70 pp plus. Especially when Ivy is all about comfort; in fact the interior looked incredible & had a live dj etc, all excluded from the “outside tables”. They couldn’t fit us inside so after a few minutes staring at derelict shops across the road, we left.

Overall good. The negative was it was very hot in the restaurant so I assume it isn’t air conditioned or it was off, it was a hot day. The service was very efficient, they run a very well oiled machine. Value was ok but the price point for some of the dishes seemed high, particularly the side dishes, for example; a small dish of plain steamed rice was very small and the rice a bit sticky, for the price it was expensive. Some dishes were superb.

We visited the Ivy Asia Brighton yesterday and it was amazing, we had the Ivy Asia Premium Experience Menu which was truly amazing all the food was fresh well presented and cooked to perfection.

Table was too small for our party size, which is a little frustrating when you’re encouraged to order sharing food but the surface is too cluttered. We were a little unlucky with service as the servers had dropsy and some drinks were spilt resulting in us having to stand up whilst the mess was cleared up from our tables and chairs. Also the bill was wrong with an overcharge on drinks. For me the music was a little too loud and with the acoustics of the space, hard table surfaces etc, it was quite loud. That said, the food was tasty, the decor is lovely and the staff are friendly.

Great atmosphere, delicious and well presented food and welcoming and kind staff. The only thing to notice was that the food was coming slower to the table than we expected but it was a busy evening and we had time so it worked out fine.

While this is a beautiful restaurant, well worth a visit, with amazing interior and very good food, I regret I have to say the staffing is abysmal. We arrived and waited 5 minutes for someone to check us in at the reception desk. We went to the bar and waited a further 15 min for the barman to come over and take our order, when there were only two other people sitting at the bar. He was on his own and simply overwhelmed with the drinks for the tables to Serve us. Another 10 minutes went by before we eventually got our drinks. At the table, there was no-one to top up our drinks so we had to try and catch someone’s eye every time, until I asked for an ice bucket. Then, we were overcharged £40 on the bill. I do not like writing critical reviews but I hope someone reads it and some something about it. More staff is the answer. At £100 a head, we expected better.
