Restaurant was setup great with good ambience. Friendly staff however more knowledge of menu would of been better. Food was tasty, but we very disappointed with our slow cooked pork ragu looked like the kids bolognese.
Service was slow. Not much choice on menu. The food was good. Overall, a bit disappointing
It was incredible. Best Italian food I have ever had.
the service was good, the waitress looked after us well, we enjoyed 3 courses so of course we didn't have to eat until the next day, to be able to share the entree and the dessert is great
Went there for valentine's night. Not up to its usual standard. Not enough staff. Entrees were pre cooked and warm. Mains were very good but dessert was average.
Food was excellent. Lovely little restaurant. One thing that let it down was there is no one to greet you when you got there and when the waiter did, he was abrupt and was pedantic about us lining up.
Valentine’s Day dinner was amazing, maybe provide more notice to customers that it was a set menu.. We weren’t expecting to pay that much
Fantastic food and atmosphere! Highly recommend going! We will certainly be going back!
The greeting when we arrived was beautiful, the atmosphere and ambience set the day in motion
The food amazing the service also amazing the value, would have like a more affordable package to choose from
Great service very organised
Basic Italian food but cooked to perfection
It. Was good took a little to long to get our drinks
Lovely as always. Great food and wine and service was excellent.
best pizza I've had in a long time ,reminded me of pizza from back home
Great food, good service and a good night out. Thank you
My husband and myself have been to the restaurant many times. Greeted upon arrival and service is excellent. Food is fresh and delicious. Restaurant has gorgeous decor and overall a wonderful experience every time we visit the Italian Food Project.
I have been coming to the Italian food project for years and it never disappoints me price is good food is great but one thing they have to bring back is there fried calamari was best in Sydney good work guys
Great food. Good serves and catered for us in the heat :)
An absolute sweat shop, I requested inside thinking there would be aircon, I think I was better off sitting outside. I do not recommend booking on a hot day!
Our waitress was very rude.
We had a garlic & cheese pizza for entree and I cannot even describe the amount of oil that was on that pizza. As I lifted up a slice, the whole plate was drenched in oil, I pulled a slice onto my plate, oil dripping everywhere! I look at my partner who usually loves his greasy fatty foods on the occasion, but even he made a comment that “they must of dropped the oil bottle on this one”. I took one bite of my slice and felt my mouth full of oil, I was honestly mortified to swallow. I had asked the waiter for napkins to pat the pizza down hoping it would help, my partner & I are not ones to complain, if anything we are usually the type to *just eat it anyway* because we are grateful to even have food. But this pizza I was just too inedible!
Mains come out, I got the gnocchi nap, that was beautiful ! No complaints there. The sauce was even light and well cooked.
My partners steak was wonderful he gave it a 9/10, although he asked our waitress for sauce. And she said that was too hard for the kitchen and he said really not even bbq sauce or tomato? Anything at all? She responded with “yeh nahhh sorry”
Overall pricing of this place is really good, don’t recommend going on hot days, we didn’t have the best waitress but maybe it was a bad day for her!
Pizza was a 0/10
I was disappointed it being my anniversary night it wasn’t the best. But there will always be off days and maybe it was one of those days, I’m open to trying one day again, but I’m in no rush, iv Hurd so many good things about this place and haven’t revived the same treatment, and honestly I view it as standard
Amazing food, great staff, and beautiful outdoor seating area.
Pizzas are always good. My pasta dish had great flavour but the crab was minimal. The barramundi wasn’t as good as the previous visit - too much potatoes and no flavour balance. The previous fish was nicely charred skin with a fresh asparagus and fennel salad. But overall good quality food.
As always, incredible food and great service! Would definitely recommend
Such a great atmosphere! The owner is great, and always so accommodating! Have been a few times, and will definitely be going back again!
We always enjoy a meal at the Italian Food project. It's one of our top favorite places to dine. Great atmosphere, food and service. Highly recommend.
Food and service were great. Need better lighting for the outdoor area once it gets dark.
Looking forward to a good night out with friends, arrived and greeted, shown to the table, service from that time was slow, first drinks after 30 minutes although there seemed to be plenty of staff. Dinner order was slow as well with the entree, arrived but they forgot the second part of the entree. The main meal didn't arrive any quicker. So with a 6.30pm booking and the main just finished by 8pm, waiting for the desert menu, and at 8.35pm the manager states we have 5 minutes to leave due to another booking, I stated the the service was slow and we hadn't had dessert. Not his problem, my partner spoke to the manger who stated the table was needed in for walk in customers and that the web page stated these facts, look at the web page no mention of time slots, may be if the service was better they could have provided proper restaurant service and menu. Apart from the poor service and average food, prices, the Italian Project had nothing to offer, with so many good restaurants in the area, The Italian Project is not one of them, as far as I am concerned they have lost our patronage. Pay top dollar for poor service and average food, never again
Lovely food and service!
The Italian food project is by far my favourite restaurant in Camden, a good place for a night out, cocktails and incredible food. Staff are super attentive and friendly. 10/10 would recommend
Food was tasteless and poorly cooked. Lack of variety apart from the pizzas.
Food was great and very good value. Service was quick and attentive however waiters were rude and pushy. Music was way too loud (as in we couldn't hear each other tak accross the table) outside and when asked politely if it could be turned down, waiter was rude. However, they did offer us a table inside instead which resolved the issue.
I was very impressed with the check-in procedures, and the food was outstanding!
Lots of loud customers. I couldn't hear my husband because of the group sitting next to us. They had many kids and they were all yelling at each other. Couldn't stay for dessert. I also asked for the left over to be packed for take away, but it was not given to me.
Very loud, especially inside. Wouldn't go again
Arriving for 6.30 booking the outside dining was very loud and very crowded. Inside we had a table for 8 and found the volume of noise grew with every group that arrived. So noisy we couldn't gear conversations from across our table. Beautiful first garlic bread, sensational! Meals arrived which were well enjoyed except for the fish meal which was delivered uncooked, cold and unpalatable. Very disappointing. A 2nd garlic bread was ordered which was dry, tasteless (no garlic or butter) and inedible....so very disappointing. It was left on the plate and the waitress was informed. All in all too noisy and some good meals and some inedible food.
The food was tasty & well presented however I thought the gelato could have been served in a glass dessert goblet instead of a plastic cup & spoon.
Service was great , love the food atmosphere fantastic, only issue is we felt rush with time limit and you were rushing to eat your meal.
Our booking was for 8.00pm waited outside for 20mins, before being seated.
Two adjacent table bookings arrived at approx 9.00pm and were served and eating, while my party was still waiting. Finally served at 9.30pm. No apology received.
Food was nice but service was deplorable. Will not return.
Food ok but pizza were burnt. Spaghetti needed salt and none on table. Service though was very good. Waiter was delightful. Table next to ours was so loud we could barely hold a conversation.
Great food and service highly recommended for families
Food was delicious; service - friendly; ambiance - warm and welcoming; value for money;
atmosphere - rustic.
Would dine there again!
Great experience. Staff highly attentive and excellent service. Only wish that they could provide more vegetarian options. Was essentially only 2 items on the menu
Excellent food, superb 6 star service, beautiful staff and great atmosphere. We loved dining here.
