Our food was amazing. We started with sharing meatballs, calamari and bruschetta - all phenomenal. We enjoyed the bolognese and the meat pizza. Again, incredible.
The music is a great addition to the restaurant. The gentleman playing the piano and singing was terrific. Very Sinatra-like!
Although the service was a bit slow, our server was fantastic and very apologetic.
A great experience and such a welcome addition to the neighborhood!
This is a very special restaurant. The food is great, the staff and owners are friendly and accommodating. We have been here twice in the last month and unfortunately, we are scheduled to return to our summer residence next week. This will certainly be my favorite place to dine when we return.
The music was way too loud, to the point where we could not hear our friends sitting at the same table. It took away from the enjoyment of the evening.
Very friendly staff. Very welcoming. Service was a bit slow, but our waiter had a few tables arrive just after us, so he was busy. It was Mother’s Day, and we enjoyed the experience. We will return.
The place is modern decorated, the food is delicious and the service is outstanding. It has the feeling of a modern “mom & pop” place! Loved it! We will be back!
Amazing service, incredible food, beautiful ambiance. Highly recommend.
It was a great Mother’s Day presentation with excellent service, awesome food and a friendly atmosphere
Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, amazing service. Would need to fly to Italia to find anything close to this.
Excellent food; ambiance was great; waiter was wonderful. Timely and the improvement to the noise level in the space is fantastic. We will be back
A must for Italian food lovers!
Wonderful restaurant! Food was excellent and the staff made us feel like we were dining in their home.
Food was excellent, staff was friendly. They had a great Frank Sinatra imitator, but he was so loud that conversation at out table which was across the room was extremely difficult.
This is a fantastic family run business. The food and service is truly outstanding! We will back often!
Dinner was fairly good, little overpriced. Service this evening wasn’t as great as should of been. But understand it just opened an they have to get the kinks out. Will go back to try again.
Wonderful improvements to Tomasso....grilled octopus was amazing. A little disappointed in the eggplant...not quite as good as dads. Pasta carbonara and veal chop were also good.
Service was great from Rasheedah.
Love this place and the team is wonderful. I would like to see a few more Sicilian dishes. :)
The food was AMAZING!!!
Great new place I’d go again
Our first time dining, and we really wanted to like it. Food was excellent. The service was unbelievably slow and unorganized. Our drinks took nearly 25 minutes to arrive. The owner came over to help but even she seemed exacerbated. We will try again because the food was very good. Hope they can solve their service problem.
We realize that they have newly opened. The hostess who was a family member as well as one of the bus boys who is also a family member, were very personable and their parents should be proud of them! The food was excellent. Had a very good meal of rigatoni and meatballs and pasta with Bolognese sauce. But, the service was not good at all. We waited about 10 minutes, and finally asked another server to find out who was going to be our waitress/waiter as no one could come by. We finally had a server come over, one who had walked past us at least three or four times without even acknowledging us. We ordered our food, and after waiting so long to be waited on, our food came out in five minutes. Like I said, the food was good. Our server asked us if we wanted bread and of course we said yes. He also never asked us if we wanted anything more, or even cheese with our pasta. Our impression is that he just did not want to be there. Like I said, I know that it is tough times hiring waitstaff, so maybe that was the problem. It was not his forte. We will go back, and hopefully we have better service. It seemed like this server was the only one having issues. Even the table next to us was complaining about him.
The restaurant looked trendy, very fresh and updated. Happy hour food menu was great. Food and service excellent! Very popular place tonight. We enjoyed our experience.
Food was great and so was the service. Had a wonderful evening. Everyone hear was extremely friendly. Great place can’t wait to go back!
While the food was good and will probably bring us back, the service was not. After one hour in the restaurant, we still had only wine and bread on our table. It took a half hour for our friend’s drink reorder to arrive. They were out of the first bottle of wine ordered. More than 20 minutes for the dessert to arrive. We were there for more than 3 hours. New opening hiccups?
They were only open for two weeks and admitted to having trouble getting competent staff. The service was slow but we were compensated with a free dessert. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The family came out to greet the diners which was a nice touch. The decor is more rustic with lots of things to absorb sound which made the dining room much quieter. The Happy Hour menu looks great - we will be trying it.
My wife and I each had pasta dishes that were obviously homemade and were delicious and authentic. Our server David was attentive without being overbearing and was friendly and helpful. I just wish he was unmasked because I read lips and masks are no longer required.
Amazing ambiance. Met the owner, charming man named Kevin and he is absolutely the life and body of the staff. There was a wait for the food, but the short was absolutely nothing in comparison to the quality and flavor of the food.
If you’re a first time patron, you MUST order the Scallops. It’s literally heaven.
If you’re questioning checking out a new Italian spot, stop! This is by and large some of the BEST pasta in the area. The staff have a familial bond with each other and it only creates an overall enjoyable feel in being here.
This is most definitely a place I would recommend for an affectionate date, getting together with a group of good friends, or just wanting to stop off at the bar for a nice glass of wine.
If you read this review, you’re now challenged to try The Italian Daughter!
Our first time to the Italian Daughter, we used to frequent Tomas often. We were all excited to check the new place out. Love the new decor. Patio was very chic and fun. Our server Derrick was awesome. Thank u we will be back soon (actually on Mother’s Day ) see u soon.
Great vibe - good food and service. Had a 5 pm reservation and the place was packed.
Well first off.....my husband is Italian and comes from a family of culinary experts including himself. It so hard for us to find true southern Italian cuisine .....but we found it here. Everything we ordered was EXCELLENT! The service was top notch. The lovely owner stopped by our table and could not have been more gracious. We’ve already booked our second visit to hear some Frank Sinatra and enjoy more of the amazing menu.
We had a wonderful evening. Great Service! Great people there. Great weekend veal osso buco. We will return!
Food, service and atmosphere was amazing!
The service, food and music were wonderful! David was amazing and gave us great recommendations for wine, entree’s and appetizers! The owner and manager came by multiple times to ensure our experience was up to par. They have done a great job in making it more modern and a great place to dine in north Scottsdale. The live music is a great touch!
Food was really good, decor could use some tweaking. The giant wall with one simple boot in the center was a little odd. Our server, Dave was efficient, good natured, professional. The front hostess needs a lot more personality, she looked out of her element, that person is the first and last impression. Smile, even under your mask. Welcome people a bit more enthusiastically, you weren’t busy when we came and it seemed like the people’s arrival was putting you out. Put forth more energy/kindness.
The table assistants and servers had all kinds of engaging behavior and were hustling and super helpful , they made up for the lack up front.
Overall good food, very reminiscent of Sicilian Butcher.
Thank you for visiting The Italian Daughter. I very much appreciate your feedback as we navigate the first couple of weeks. The boot you are referring to is my logo, a map outline of Italy. I am awaiting another part of the wall design to complete the look, however did not feel it was necessary upon opening. I am sorry to hear you felt our hostess was out of her element. We are all enthusiastic to welcome our guests and I hope you will feel that on your future visits. Sincerely, Melissa Maggiore
Simply fabulous! We were a party of five, 3 gals and 2 guys. Since we had already had a bit of a happy hour, we were not ravenous. We have been long time fans of Tomaso's and have been looking to return to one of our favorite places. We were not disappointed! The remodel of the interior is gorgeous with warmer woods and textures on the walls. Seating has been reorganized especially in the bar area. Thoughtful changes. The gals split one order of the phenomenal Veal Osso Buco with Saffron Rissoto. To die for! Even splitting 3 ways there was plenty left for the guys. They guys ordered pasta dishes and believe me, no one left hungry. Our server was just the right combination of attentiveness, personality and creativity! Bottom line, we can't wait to come back!
Pleasant and we’ll come back
Service was a 10! Atmosphere was a 10! Food was middle of the road. Chicken park got 2 thumbs up but the bolognese left something to be desired. Very little flavor. It looked much better than it tasted. Pizza was ok. Brussels sprouts were great. I have 4 stars because the service made the food better. I’ll give it another shot though. Happy hour only in the bar area.
Yummy food, great bartender, we will be back soon!
Unfortunately, we experienced very slow service. After ordering drinks for four, we were served three out of four cocktails and waited 25 minutes for a glass of wine. The restaurant is lovely , management very friendly and sweet, just understaffed at the time.
Food was very slow coming out. The sausage had a spoiled taste carbonara was great.
I’ll was 72 gave 100. Waitress assumed balance was theirs. When I asked for change it was short by a significant amount. Corrected when told but still....... basic math.
