Food not as good as prior visits. Fish was salty. Dessert was excellent.
Good food, great service and right on the water! Highly recommend.
I was impressed. Didn't look like much on the outside but the inside was quaint. Food was pretty good. Loved that they had their own parking.
I really enjoyed my dining experience here. The environment was cozy. The noise level was comfortable and not too loud, the food was good.
Laurie, an owner stopped by and talked to us and noticed a sauce that might enhance the flavor of my meal.
The service for being served and getting our check was efficient. Close attention to detailed.
I will come back.
Amazing food and great service. Right on the water but not a seafood shack. Fine dining in a casual atmosphere.
Lets just say I will not plan on returning here. Location is all that they had going for them, service was inattentive and our food was Meh at best. Average burgers & the $22 Haddock fish & chips dinner was bleh and fries on all plates were way over salted. Only bright spot was kids food came out quick so they could eat, but parents was so slow kids were done before ours arrived and were then ready to leave.
Oh and by the way there was only 4 other tables being served during our entire time in the restaurant no excuse for poor service and underwhelming food.
If you plan on going plesse review and i hope its much better than our experience.
Oustanding place to eat!!!! Wonderful waterfront ambiance, absolutely delicious food, excellent and FRIENDLY service, and a value priced menu. Really loved it, will return again!!!!!!
My family has been in Lusby area for 8 months now and by far, this has been the most pleasant eating and dining experience we have experienced. Everything was awesome from beginning to end. Cris was our server and his customer service skills were outstanding. We will definately be back this upcoming week. With more family, friends, or both.
Love this restaurant. Extremely disappointed however no points from open table!!!!!!!!
Crab dip was wonderful with actual chunks of crab!!! However, the seafood canneloni was a little disappointing. Didn't taste much seafood. Never saw KirRoyale drink on a menu and enjoyed that. Service was exceptional!!! Noise was a little loud. Appreciated patrons 50+ years of age sat at the tables.
Would go back again. Family owned and I appreciate this. Next tine when it's warm, will sit outside and enjoy the water view and food/drinks.
Our first meal here and ir was an enjoyable experience. My wife was surprised that her vegetable lasagna entre' had no pasta in it........something that was not mentioned in the menu.
Nice dinner for 2. Definitely recommend reservations in the winter months as indoor seating is limited.
I’d like to say yes & I’d like to say no. The food was very good but not Great. The service was EXCELLENT. You don’t get that in Solomon’s very often.
I’m a long time local.
Most of the restaurants want to placate the tourists.
Food was delicious - I had the seafood cannelloni w Alfredo sauce, and the waiter was excellent! Can't beat that combo. Great find in SoMD.
The food was good. I had the sausage lasagna. It was a huge portion so I took left overs for lunch. The seafood cannelloni was also good. One of us got the ravioli and said he would not order it again. The deserts were very good. The only problem was that the restaurant was very cold, which is why I marked down on the ambience.
Nice restaurant with a great view. The food is excellent. Using Open Table for reservations works well. One of my favorite restaurants in Southern Maryland.
This was our second visit and the food was excellent; our waiter was very attentive; and the casual environment provided us a nice chance to visit with friends. I tried the filet with herb/garlic butter; it was cooked perfectly and the flavor and cut were excellent. I normally get seafood when visiting Solomons but the choice of fish was limited; Haddock or Maji Maji. Both are good but I expected Salmon, Trout, or Grouper (last time it was amazing.)
My only issue is the overlap between a nice quiet dining room and a Happy Hour bar seem to conflict. A bit too noisy for the former, not enough room or music for the latter; together they tend to counter each other. It was a winter night so when the patio/deck is open that will likely separate the two.
Altogether, the Hideaway is a very nice dining experience.
Broad menu with good selection of safe favorites (burgers, pasta) plus chef-inspired dishes that feature good ingredients carefully prepared. Waitress was informative, apologetic ("can't believe it but we're out of chicken!") and helpful finding selections for one in our party with a food allergy. There's a great harbor view. We went on a chilly Sunday evening and ate inside, but noticed a deck overlooking the docks. Will go back in spring for lunch or early dinner on the deck.
First time here service was amazing and food was great. Can't wait to return in the summer to enjoy there outdoor deck.
Great food and hospitality.
Fabulous atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food!
We had a great time our first time this past Wednesday. I surprised my husband for his birthday and was so glad the recommendation was a good one. Loved our waiter! We had Pot Pie, Burger, Butter Almond Cake and Chocolate Peacan Pie. Pot Pie just needed a little more salt but we like stuff salty haha. The burger was awesome (would like fluffier bread, less dense) and the skinny fries are so worth it! We will definitely be back to try the fish tacos and chicken Alfredo our friends loved. The decor for Christmas was so detailed! Can’t wait for outside dining when it’s warmer.
Great food and service. Beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Island Hideaway does not disappoint. The service is excellent - you are taken care of without intrusion. The owner Lori often stops by to check in. The food is fresh and always perfectly prepared. The pasta is a must! This is a true treasure of Southern Maryland.
Great homemade pasta dishes, drinks, desserts and Wonderful service.
Freezing cold. Had to eat with our outside coats on. Won't be back in winter unless they put up some kind of portico to reduce the freezing cold air coming directly into the dining room.
We had dinner the Friday after Thanksgiving. This a very small place right on the water and around this time of year is not very crowded. But the food is always great. The wife had beef tenderloin and could not stop talking about how tender it was. And we eat ALOT of steak. I went with the home had ravioli in alfrado sauce with blackened Mai Mai. I am not a big fish fan but this was delicious and firm, cooked just right. Because it is so small it can be a bit loud but the atmosphere is for conversation and even though we sat very close to the kitchen it was not a distraction. In the warmer weather they have an outdoor eating area that is the best in Solomons IMHO.
Good experience with the whole family. Great service and wonderful food.
Had the pork chop. It was cooked to perfection and served with a side of asparagus. Great
Awesome waitress. April was very good at making suggestions and she was spot on! I had a seafood past and my husband had the chicken pot pie. We ended with a key lime pie and apple crumble, both were delicious. The place is small, but very nice for a dinner date. They are going to renovate and open up the space more. We will return in the warmer months for a walk by the water.
The Island Hideaway exceeded our expectations for a small waterfront restaurant. The scallops were fantastic and the seafood cannelloni was so flavorful. The desserts were nice, but the cheesecake was a little wet (though very tasty with sour cherries at the bottom and chocolate ganache on top). We will definitely be back for the back deck once it warms up. My only criticism is the small seating area felt cold and drafty on a cold night. The warm service from Maggie and a chat with Lori, the friendly owner, more than made up for it.
Delicious fresh food and exceptional service in a cozy setting
Best cream of crab soup and crab cake that I have had in a long time!
It was a rainy night and pasta was the answer. Entrees were hit and delicious. Drinks were good as well.
We brought friends this time and they loved the place! We sat outside for the first time and beautiful ships were sailing into port. I especially love the handcrafted martinis, so pretty and so tasty... I had the crabcake (my usual) and this time the coating was very crispy, I think it stayed in the hot oil a little bit too long, but it was still good. My favorite server (he knows who he is) didn't wait on us but he was still able to come by and say "hello". We had such excellent customer service. Please stop by if you can, you won't regret it!
My mom and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night with our dog. It’s a great place to sit outdoors with a dog. The waitstaff is friendly and fast. The drink menu was nice, and I noticed bottles of Stella were only $4.25 so I got one. The food was decent, I really enjoyed my fish sandwich though my mom and I agreed her pasta with shrimp and marinara sauce was very bland. When the check came the Stella was listed at $5. When we asked the waitress about it she went to check on it but came back saying the menu had changed and the price had increased and we would have to pay that. I understand that mistakes happen but that’s not right, a restaurant should honor the prices on their menu. So overall it wasn’t a bad experience but that situation rubbed me the wrong way. I won’t be back.
Solomon’s Island best kept secret! The food is amazing, drinks are on point and the staff is super attentive and down to earth!
Great tasting food, excellent service! The menu has something for everyone!
The sangria was great. The burgers were substantial. We enjoyed the causal seating on the deck. Great crowd for lunch. We will be back.
