   Lovely staff; patient, polite and considerate with one of our party who has Parkinson’s. The birthday card and cake were a lovely surprise for my mum who was celebrate her 90th birthday. All in all a lovely experience.

   This is our fourth visit and it was equally amazing as the others have been. I’m gluten-free and my lamb dinner was really tasty, tender and flavoursome, 10/10! The vegetables served with this dish were just perfect. My husband had the classic burger and he really enjoyed his meal too. A really great meal and we would happily recommend The Inn at South Stainley to others, after all, it’s just over an hour’s drive for us so that should be a great indicator for you!!

   We visited towards the end of a very busy Easter weekend Sunday lunch. We had Children , a dog and one of our group with allergies. Service wasn’t perfect as they were extremely busy however you could tell they were trying very hard and were generally very accommodating. The food was excellent for a large and busy Gastro pub and they dealt extremely well with the allergies including the ingenious vegan friendly, gluten free Yorkshire pudding. Overall a good experience and I will be back in a smaller group and less busy time to enjoy it a bit more.

   Unfortunately the food was the main issue. The starters were ok. The crayfish was good but the duck starters were definitely not restaurant quality. Soup very good. The roast beef was tough for both 2 of people on our table. We ordered 2 lamb roasts and whilst 1 was tender and lovely the other was dry and tough. We ordered 6 roasts and we only got 1 small bowl of green vegetables between 6. I would also advise not to sit in the window on a sunny day as it was very uncomfortable. It felt like you were sitting in a conservatory. The staff were friendly but we had to ask for drinks and orders to be taken.

   We always book the Restaurant..however we were placed next to a family with a small child and a screaming baby. We discreetly had a word with a member of staff and she very kindly found us another table. We have never eaten in the bar area as this seems to be mainly for families.

   Food always excellent staff very attentive and friendly. Great prices for great food and service. Our favourite place to dine and drink.

   Excellent afternoon out for my birthday, very friendly staff, dog friendly too which was great. The food was lovely and very filling … loved the shots of soup! Thanks for a great time.

    Sunday Lunch was of average quailty and over priced for what was presented. Service was slow and inattentive, long waits for drinks which seemed to be the fault of the bar staff who were pre occupied with their own conversations. Drinks orders were mixed up due to inexperienced staff not understanding the difference between lager and ale. Seems to be a lack of training , leadership and management. Indifferent quality of food and indifference being the defining staff attitude
