Food was excellent nicely presented and plentiful. My only minor complaint was that the pate (which was delicious) was served in a quite large pot with 4 tiny pieces of toast. There was nowhere enough enough toast for the amount of pate. Other than that the food was great
Reasonable Sunday Lunch , however despite ordering the roast dinners with gravy on the side (in jugs) the first dinners came with gravy so had to go back. Children’s portions were far too large and vegetables were over cooked.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Good food and a great variety of choice. Wine a bit on the pricey side though!
Great food in a lovely place. Staff attentive and friendly.
I would prefer more choice for vegetarian food, otherwise very good.
Brilliant and lovely food. Great atmosphere and brill for dogs.
It was good. We ate food and it was nice…..yum yum
Lovely setting, good food and convenient - out only complaint was shortage of staff and a rather long wait between courses. Understandable in the current climate and has been better on previous visits.
Amazed that the staff didn’t wear face masks.
Covid is still here....even if you’ve had 2 vaccinations.
Good meal as always - good value and good portions
Me and my partner went in for our Anniversary meal and they were more than accommodating! The food was amazing and great value for money, they even provided free champagne and a dessert on the house, the staff were amazing and it was lovely and peaceful - will definitely be returning!
The experience on the whole was good although the baked camembert starter really let things down, at over £10 and described as a ‘starter to share’ was vastly over priced due it basically been a small piece of focaccia with melted Camembert.
The french fries at £3.50 were overpriced as a side order.
However my main of tandoori skewers was excellent spicy but not overwhelming, my wife’s club sandwich was good with decent amount of filling.
The staff were excellant attentive and efficient.
We have eaten before at The Inn and always enjoyed the food. There were a couple of blips this time but nothing major, managed with good service and did nothing to spoil the meal. This is a great venue foe a family meal.
Shame about one customer whip abused the blue badge bays, parking to be as close as he could to the venue (ignoring spaces almost as close), displayed no badge and carried his three bags in without any sign of difficulty.
First night meal of our holiday and we could not have chosen anywhere better. Fantastic meal in a lovely setting with attentive staff and absolutely delicious food. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you sooo much.
I've visited the Inn three times since July this year and each time there has been an issue, for example, lack of vegan food options when I specifically checked that they would have options available (I don't think they all understand the difference between veggie and vegan). Last night I ordered sea bass and sauteed potatoes - whilst the potatoes were almost raw, the fish was overdone. Fortunately, my friend shared some of her fries! When I explained I'd been unable to eat most of the potatoes (the smaller ones were hard but not as bad), I did get an apology but nothing else - no discount/free drink or anything - just a 'thanks for telling us' - no 'sorry we ruined your meal that you are paying your hard-earned cash on.' Service was incredibly slow with long waits for drinks initially - at least 20 minutes from bringing us the drinks menu to coming back to ask what we wanted - I wouldn't mind but the place was almost empty. At the end of the meal we had to ask several times for someone to bring the card machine so we could pay - it was 35 mins from getting the bill to being able to pay. Whilst some of the staff are friendly, there is one particular gent who really should not be front of house - or he shouldn't have been last night as he was really miserable - he showed us to our tables by simply pointing and saying 'there'! I think it is three strikes and you're out for me, what a shame!
Although situated on a busy road it is very quiet. Food is excellent quality and good value for money. Service is excellent.
Great food, good service, fair price.
Enjoyed sitting outside, especially when the lights came on, felt like being on holiday!
Will definitely be going again
The Inn is conveniently located mid-way between Ripon and Harrogate on the side of the A61. There is a large car park and the exterior is well presented which is followed through to the interior which is attractively designed and decorated. The waiting staff were attentive but the food took an age to arrive; 40 minutes plus for a couple of burgers seems excessive to me and when they did eventually arrive the burger was made of very coarse mince and was overcooked making it chewy and dry. Having not tried any of the other fayre on offer I'd hope that it may be of better quality, therefore, I would recommend The Inn as the place itself and the quality of service warrant giving it another go.
Couldn’t fault the food but the service was very slow. Communication from the team could have helped.
Lovely food and looked lovely inside. Not too busy either. We chose to sit outside which was a little noisy due to the busy road next to the pub but think there might be more seating to the rear which is possibly a little quieter. Will certainly not put us off going again.
Fabulous food combined with outstanding service. Definitely worth a visit
Food was good but the place was freezing cold, we had to sit with our coats on. We were told the managers were refusing to put the fire on.
The menu was a bit different to the online menu showing on the website the same day, meaning we were disappointed not to have what we'd been looking forward to all morning.
The soup of the day was barely warm.
We had to ask twice for drinks when they didn't arrive.
Otherwise the food was generally good, just a shame about the other issues. In our opinion, this has gone downhill since it was the Red Lion!
We had a really lovely meal with excellent service. My husband uses a wheelchair and the venue was very accessible. Thank you.
Third time I’ve eaten here. In their defence it was really busy. However food was disappointing when it finally arrived. Food was ordered and then a long time later we were advised it wasn’t available. Drink order wasn’t taken until food order, when drinks arrived the order was wrong.
A shame when I’d recommended the place.
Service was great from the FOH staff, however the food took an age to arrive - both between courses but also sone people getting food and some people not on the same course. mains were particularly disjointed, and we had a long wait for two desserts.
It wasn't a huge issue for us as we weren't in a rush, but it did make for a less relaxed evening.
The food was good, average quality for price. We used to come here for the large fish selection, but thats now minimal, lots of meat and burgers. Meat is good quality and all nicely cooked. Sides also very good, nice fresh veg.
The meat pies ordered were on the menu as puff pastry, but arrived as suet. Nicely made and very tasty, but not what was ordered.
Overall - OK, nice decor, friendly staff, disjointed service, OK food - tasty, limited menu for fish lovers :)
Excellent menu, tasty food and lovely, spacious Dining Room, ideal for groups and families.
Fabulous meal! Beautiful setting. Food delicious!
Absolutely unbelievable! Food was impeccable. The restaurant was stunning and the staff were spot on! I will certainly be back!!
Really nice Sunday lunch ! Vegetarian option good too ! 😊
Spent a pleasant evening with friends ,service very good with attentive staff
will come again very soon
As a small family group we had a very enjoyable evening with a good atmosphere and excellent food, we all said we would definitely come back.
It’s been so great and the quality of service and very friendly nature of all staff is excellent. The quality of the room we are staying at too is superb. Thanks very much, David
Great restaurant with stunning food in a excellent location
Another great meal and such friendly staff! Already ready to go back!
Wonderful staff, some limitations in menu but very accommodating. Would definitely go again.
We had a lovely lunch, we can recommend the halloumi and roasted pepper sandwich made with rosemary flavoured focaccia and the chicken pie was delicious. The staff are very attentive without being overpowering and the decor is beautiful. Will definitely be returning soon
Had the Sunday roast dinner, always a good marker as to how good the food is and wasn't disappointed. The beef was nicely pink and tasty in a rich gravy. The yorkshire's were a good size and the spuds were nicely caramelised with the other veg perfectly cooked. I had Black Sheep bitter whilst the wife had Orchard pig dry cider, both very good.
We will return.
Very good experience. Atmosphere and. ambience very pleasant. The young staff very friendly, efficient and attentive. The food was excellent, we had the Sunday Lunch menu. Will definitely return. Its good tp see The Inn open again as we have frequented it a number of times in the past. All in all a very good. dining experience.
We booked a Sunday lunchtime meal, and when we phoned back and asked to move the time it was no problem. We didn't have to ask for water when we arrived.. we were immediately asked if we wanted it. Our drinks arrived quickly and so did the food. The menu is reasonably varied and portions are good. One of us ordered Roast Beef on a Focaccia bun and the beef was a large slice. There were also enough vegetables in one plate for both of us. We will certainly return.
Service was very very slow and less than good! Food was extremely average, very salty and not good. The bill was extortionate £21 for 2 white wine spritzer..... Ridiculous. We will not be going g bank and we will not be recommending it to ANYONE.
