Excellent food and very well looked after for my dads 82nd birthday
You must check the food times before going here, we drove specially to eat dinner here with our baby. When we arrived we were told it was sandwiches only till 5.30. This was at 4.30. Had we known we wouldn't have made the special trip. But as we were there we had to feed the little one, and just after we finished feeding him they did let us know that the full menu was now on so we decided to try the food. The food itself was very nice, along with the pub itself. I just wish we had been told either prior to booking on the website or after booking on here.
Really good choice of menu and food was lovely and very well presented..
Staff very pleasent and service extremely good
Wonderfil food in a lovely setting served by very friendly staff…big portions and the creme brûlée was the best i have ever had! Would totally recommend
We stayed overnight, enjoyed our evening meal. Lovely room and wonderful Yorkshire breakfast.
The food was really good quality and very tasty. I would recommend the inn to all my friends.
An enjoyable lunchtime.
Pleasant helpful staff and reasonably priced good food.
Small point was that our table should have been cleared and wiped quicker.
Great lunch in pleasant environment without outstanding staff and Service.
Lovely food at a good price, staff were excellent and perfect if you have dogs
We were impressed with the surroundings and the food was very good. I would mention that a jug of gravy for the table would have made the Sunday lunch perfect. (We had to ask for more and just a small individual jug was brought so we had to bother the waiter again for another).
Good to see this place open again after a closure. Not the cheapest but good food and drink. From this bus users point of view very convenient with the 36 stopping outside.
Service not brilliant. Shortage of menus, believe it or not, we had to wait until a table had ordered before menu for dessert was available. Fish and chips good, mushy peas cold though.
Overall OK, but for the price expected better service, hot mushy peas, and not to be told no menus available until a table had ordered.
I was impressed with the depth of the menu on offer , and I will certainly be booking in my walking group for future lunches .
Always lovely food here at the Inn. We only live a few doors away so this is our local. Under the new owners the quality of the food is as good as ever. Bit pricey but worth the extra really.
Good food and excellent service. Knowledgeable re dietary requirements. Will visit again.
Our meal and stay at the Inn was lovely and I cannot find any reasons to criticise it in any way. Thank you!
Had a very nice lunch with friends we hadn’t seen for 5 years. They were on holiday in the area and requested meeting up.This proved to be a great choice of venue. We all had a main meal which was of very good quality. The location was ideal for us and the room where we had lunch was very nice. Excellent staff with very good service.
Special mention for the giant Yorkshire pud with chicken and veg. Very nice would recommend.
Overall our friends who are from the Cotswolds loved The Inn for food, thank you.
Lovely meal. Catching up with friends. Staff attentive but not overpowering. Definitely will be visiting again.
A warm welcome, cosy atmosphere, varied menu, well stocked bar, good food and service
We stayed at The Inn and had dinner and breakfast. We were warmly welcomed and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The pub is modernised and attractive. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet with all the modern facilities that we needed. The dinner and breakfast menu provided a good choice and were well-prepared and tasty. We have no hesitation in recommending to others.
Excellent meal, with excellent service! Highly recommend.
Meeting elderly friends with small appetites. The menu selection catered well for us - we all found the "Bar Nibbles" excellent and a good substitute for a starter. The whitebait was a popular choice. Our waitress was extremely patient with our indecision on food choices. A very pleasant visit.
Food was excellent nicely presented and plentiful. My only minor complaint was that the pate (which was delicious) was served in a quite large pot with 4 tiny pieces of toast. There was nowhere enough enough toast for the amount of pate. Other than that the food was great
Reasonable Sunday Lunch , however despite ordering the roast dinners with gravy on the side (in jugs) the first dinners came with gravy so had to go back. Children’s portions were far too large and vegetables were over cooked.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Good food and a great variety of choice. Wine a bit on the pricey side though!
Great food in a lovely place. Staff attentive and friendly.
I would prefer more choice for vegetarian food, otherwise very good.
Brilliant and lovely food. Great atmosphere and brill for dogs.
It was good. We ate food and it was nice…..yum yum
Lovely setting, good food and convenient - out only complaint was shortage of staff and a rather long wait between courses. Understandable in the current climate and has been better on previous visits.
Amazed that the staff didn’t wear face masks.
Covid is still here....even if you’ve had 2 vaccinations.
Good meal as always - good value and good portions
Me and my partner went in for our Anniversary meal and they were more than accommodating! The food was amazing and great value for money, they even provided free champagne and a dessert on the house, the staff were amazing and it was lovely and peaceful - will definitely be returning!
The experience on the whole was good although the baked camembert starter really let things down, at over £10 and described as a ‘starter to share’ was vastly over priced due it basically been a small piece of focaccia with melted Camembert.
The french fries at £3.50 were overpriced as a side order.
However my main of tandoori skewers was excellent spicy but not overwhelming, my wife’s club sandwich was good with decent amount of filling.
The staff were excellant attentive and efficient.
We have eaten before at The Inn and always enjoyed the food. There were a couple of blips this time but nothing major, managed with good service and did nothing to spoil the meal. This is a great venue foe a family meal.
Shame about one customer whip abused the blue badge bays, parking to be as close as he could to the venue (ignoring spaces almost as close), displayed no badge and carried his three bags in without any sign of difficulty.
First night meal of our holiday and we could not have chosen anywhere better. Fantastic meal in a lovely setting with attentive staff and absolutely delicious food. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you sooo much.
I've visited the Inn three times since July this year and each time there has been an issue, for example, lack of vegan food options when I specifically checked that they would have options available (I don't think they all understand the difference between veggie and vegan). Last night I ordered sea bass and sauteed potatoes - whilst the potatoes were almost raw, the fish was overdone. Fortunately, my friend shared some of her fries! When I explained I'd been unable to eat most of the potatoes (the smaller ones were hard but not as bad), I did get an apology but nothing else - no discount/free drink or anything - just a 'thanks for telling us' - no 'sorry we ruined your meal that you are paying your hard-earned cash on.' Service was incredibly slow with long waits for drinks initially - at least 20 minutes from bringing us the drinks menu to coming back to ask what we wanted - I wouldn't mind but the place was almost empty. At the end of the meal we had to ask several times for someone to bring the card machine so we could pay - it was 35 mins from getting the bill to being able to pay. Whilst some of the staff are friendly, there is one particular gent who really should not be front of house - or he shouldn't have been last night as he was really miserable - he showed us to our tables by simply pointing and saying 'there'! I think it is three strikes and you're out for me, what a shame!
Although situated on a busy road it is very quiet. Food is excellent quality and good value for money. Service is excellent.
Great food, good service, fair price.
Enjoyed sitting outside, especially when the lights came on, felt like being on holiday!
Will definitely be going again
The Inn is conveniently located mid-way between Ripon and Harrogate on the side of the A61. There is a large car park and the exterior is well presented which is followed through to the interior which is attractively designed and decorated. The waiting staff were attentive but the food took an age to arrive; 40 minutes plus for a couple of burgers seems excessive to me and when they did eventually arrive the burger was made of very coarse mince and was overcooked making it chewy and dry. Having not tried any of the other fayre on offer I'd hope that it may be of better quality, therefore, I would recommend The Inn as the place itself and the quality of service warrant giving it another go.
