The Inn South Stainley - a uniquely independent cosy Yorkshire country pub with rooms offering a superior experience, great food, outstanding service and a truly memorable visit.

Our country pub and bar area is at the heart of The Inn which offers classic and contemporary interiors, relaxed seating and open fires. Enjoy country pub classic food dishes including daily specials and fine wines, cocktails, real ales and craft beer. Head Chef Shane White and his team have created a menu inspired by the seasons and resources and celebrates the amazing produce North Yorkshire has to offer.

We celebrate the regions finest produce and products, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do, achieved with a smile and a traditional Yorkshire welcome for all.

Been here before but a while ago ,service was very good , the food - fish and chips was overcooked .

We made a reservation weeks in advance for Fathers Day and had a really bad experience in terms of service. Took over an hour to get our starters, and over 2 hours to get our main meals. The waitress was also not honest with us about the hold up, and eventually the manager came to speak to us after we queried this twice, explaining that the orders got mixed up and didn't reach the kitchen. We also had our 3yo with us, and his meal also took 1.5hrs to get to us. Not a great experience and makes me feel like I don't ever want to go back, even the food was amazing

We are terribly sorry that there was a mix up with your food ticket, it was extremely busy father's day and unfortunately with there being so many tables outside a couple of mistakes were made. By no means is this an excuse as we are terribly sorry that you had to wait for such a long time, we did ensure that your meals were removed from your bill as a gesture of our apologies - I do hope you give us another chance to impress you with our service standards to match the food. Always excellent, we do a 140 mile round trip to visit. That should speak enough as a recommendation. Staff are always excellent and a key part to the success, beyond the food.

🌟✨ Just had my first dining experience at The Inn, and let me tell you, it was a delightful surprise! 😍 From the moment I walked in, the staff were super attentive without being overbearing—just the right balance! 🙌💖 Now, let’s talk about the food! 🍽️ Everything was delicious, though I will say it’s a bit on the pricier side. But honestly, you can really taste the quality in every bite, so it’s totally worth it! 😋👌 Oh, and a little tip for anyone planning to visit: don’t forget to register your car in the pub for parking! 🚗💡 With all the lovely walkers around, the car park fills up quickly, and they’ve got to keep things in check. Overall, I had a pretty good experience and can’t wait to go back! This is a really nice place with a welcoming feel to it. We had the Trio of meats with stuffing and crackling and it was excellent. It was slightly too salty but really enjoyable.
