Great atmosphere and menu
Food was excellent - not too fancy, but prepared well and creative. The service was prompt and attentive. It’s a quiet little place where the staff really cares about the experience and about whether you’re enjoying yourself. Highly recommended.
This place is a world class winner. Large spacious rooms with big bathrooms and jacuzzi. Fireplace in most rooms. Views of Mount Washington from the dinner table and select rooms. Three cute little cottages for ultimate privacy. Dining is outstanding, roll your eyes back in your head good. Best part is the Inn Keepers Steve and Katey, the most accommodating people in all the north. Can't go wrong here.
The food is not at the level it once was. I am not being loyal to past owners, only an observance of what it should be considering price, atmosphere and tradition.
An exceptional dining experience- great service and food for breakfast or dinner. Well worth stopping by whenever in Jackson area
My husband had the seafood with vegetable risotto and it was delicious. I had the salmon with quinoa pilaf, mine was overcooked but tasty the pilaf was dried out and tasteless so I would not recommend it. I would definitely go back and just order something else. The atmosphere was lovely and very relaxing. We would like to go back and actually stay at the Inn.
Great place for couples in a relaxed, elegant setting with great food, outstanding service and an overall warm ambiance. This is what an Inn should be!
Exceeded all of our expectations. A true gem...would highly recommend!
Dining room is upscale and we'll set out. Food was outstanding. We ordered two different dishes and tasted both. Delicious, flavorful and well presented. The only disappointment was the server. The bartender greeted us upon entering and satbus at a table of our choice. It was then eight minutes until the first contact by the server. When she took our drink order she described the specials and asked if we had made our dinner choices. Seriously? Yes, we would like to relax, enjoy a drink, order appetizers and then move on to dinner. Unsure if undertrained or just having a bad night. Again, everything else was top shelf.
The best place to be for a relaxing vacation. We come back every year. Highly recommend!
The owners are wonderful, cannot say enough good things about them, they make you feel like you are visiting family. My husband and I stay here several times each year, for many year now. The value is amazing and the Inn is high end all the way around! We sent our son and new daughter in law there for a night in January, and they wanted to go back for two nights next time! So it fits any age, if you are looking for a romantic getaway for two! The fire places, the food and mountains, the friendly service and the rooms are all beautiful! What's not to like?! Try it, you'll make it a tradition! The town of Jackson is quaint too! There is also sleigh rides at Nestlnook, very nearby, in Jackson too!
We had a fabulous dinner seated in front of the fireplace while snow was falling outside. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Very enjoyable evening. We will definitely be back!
We enjoyed the rack of lamb special which was just perfect in every way. Homemade bread and starters of mussels and New England Clam Chowder were all tasty and expertly prepared. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. Looking forward to our next visit.
The dinner was outstanding! We had the duck and the baked seafood. Both were delicious!!
There was live music in the lounge which was very good.
I can't wait to return!!
Terrific professional and friendly staff, great ambiance and excellent food.
Brought out an already opened bottle of room temperature champagne, but replaced it with one on ice when requested. Initial basket of stale bread was also replaced with a fresh one of a different bread. Quality and taste of food was fine, but the “bistro fillet” (NOT tenderloin) requested Med rare was cooked medium, and the duck, supposedly to be medium was med rare. Once the initial errors were remedied the overall experience was good. The wine list is very limited. The cocktails were excellent and the draft beer selection adequate.
I would stay here again. Beautiful place. Nancy was very pleasant and a lovely smile. Great job Nancy
Lovely atmosphere. Portions were small for the price. Food was well prepared and presented. Coffee after was poor quality. Server had some confusion about getting coffee/dessert order served correctly and on time.
Cold the whole time, no handicap parking and slippery, love the food but credit card roulette or too pricy for what we ordered
The food was absolutely horrible. Cold broccoli soup, cold entrees, overcooked seafood, heavy on starch and lots on protein. Not a good choice.
We were staying the night at the Inn and we went on kind of an off season night (Sunday in December). For dinner we were one of 3 couples in the entire restaurant to start. Then the other 2 left and we had the place to ourselves. Very quiet. Sat by the fire. Very romantic. Food was delicious. Steve (the owner who was also our server) was so pleasant. You can tell he is passionate about his Inn and the guest experience. We will definitely be back.
Amazing food and drinks. Everything is made with care. Highly recommended!
Delicious but food was cold.
Clean room and friendly staff but breakfast was served on cold plate so it was lukewarm unfortunately. Dinner was good but lacked veggies and salad greens were wilted. Dining room was cold too.
Friendly hosts and servers, terrific ambience.
Food very good but not quite as good as in past visits. Salmon was a little over cooked and fall vegetables were just Brussels sprouts- should have been forewarned.
That said, warm fire on a cold night, comfortable ambience and a welcoming warm place
This place is a gem and the owners are terrific. If you are near Mt. Washington New Hampshire, book a suite with dinner and breakfast and you’ll love it.
The restaurant at the Inn at Thorn Hill is an incredible experience! The ambiance is wonderful; quiet and relaxing for a true dining experience. The food is beyond delicious. The service is outstanding. For dinner or a special event you can't go wrong.
The Inn is so welcoming and warm. Fireplaces everywhere! There's a beautiful wrap around porch that must be a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the view of the mountains. There's a communal jigsaw puzzle set up. Afternoon tea comes with fresh baked pastries and later in the day, we had home-baked pretzels. We had a lovely snow storm while we were there. What a great way to wake up on our first morning.
The staff is fabulous and helpful with suggestions on what to do in the area.
About the food...so delicious! Abbie was our server and was great. We ate in the dining room the first night and in the lounge the last night. The dining room is decorated beautifully with plenty of tables near the windows where you can enjoy the view. At breakfast we sat near the window where the bird feeders attracted chickadees and nuthatches and this morning a bright red cardinal.
There are daily specials at both breakfast and dinner. The caramel and apple Belgian waffles were melt in your mouth yummy. The roast pork with squash ravioli with sage was just perfect. Congratulations to Inn owner Steve and his wife for doing everything just right!
My husband and I stayed Oct 22nd through Oct 25th for our honeymoon!! We loved it here! Everyone was so inviting and friendly! It was a cozy warm atmosphere! The staff was so kind and friendly! Food was outstanding! We love everything about Thorn Hill and was sad to leave! We will definitely be back!
Very nice time, great service from the time we were seated, waitress outstanding, food, drinks we cannot wait to go back. Thank you!
The inn was beautiful and the food was delicious. Definitely worth the drive
After reading good reviews about the Inn, I decided to try it. I was hoping for a romantic dinner with my boyfriend, but instead music in the lounge changed the whole ambience. Way too loud. My boyfriend ordered the filet and specifically asked not to have the sauce on it. It came out with the sauce on it. He does not like to complain but did tell the server about it. My meal was very good though. The manager did comp the meal which was appreciated.
Service was fair. Was never asked if we wanted another drink or water. It didn't appear to be busy, so I guess I expected more attention then what we got.
We had a GREAT time. Very nice, enjoyable and relaxing.
Absolutely loved our meals. Can’t wait to go back sometime!
Great location in cozy Jackson, NH. The staff is very friendly, food is very good.....nice atmosphere. Definitely consider staying at the Inn and having dinner if you are traveling through New England!
This was our first visit. The suite was large and luxurious. The restaurant was top notch. A relaxing atmosphere. We already booked to return!
A very nice evening in a wonderful setting with great food!
Caesar salad had croutons from a box and virtually no dressing.
Pork tenderloin came dry and overcooked and had to be sent back.
Lobster ravioli in sherry cream sauce had random vegetables (cherry tomatoes, pieces of fennel, etc.) thrown in and sauce was a brown glop.
Food was extremely disappointing. Wine list was fairly priced. Our server was great.
Do not recommend.
Had several breakfasts and one dinner during our stay. For breakfast the waffles were excellent. also the home fried potatoes were a real plus.
Dinner was wonderful. Lamb lollipops for an appetizer were well prepared and had a light mint seasoning. Short ribs off the bone were outstanding. Very tender and large portion. The baked seafood (haddock, bay scallops and shrimp) in a cream sauce was excellent. Service was professional and friendly. Decent wine list. Priced very reasonably for quality and ambiance.
