Great food and the service was wonderful.
Food and service was excellent
Enough space between tables. Felt safe
Warm and welcoming
Did get a bit noisy when room was full
Would definitely come again
Very nice outdoor patio. Salmon was perfect!
The service was very poor. Waited 15 mins to get a drink and wasn’t told the specials until we asked. While the food was very good $138 for a steak for 2 that size seemed high.
Let me start by saying we've eaten here multiple times and have always loved it -- the food, the service, the value and the environment. But, I am sad to report that our experience last night was different, in a bad way, on most measures. For brevity sake, I am listing these out in bullet form, but I could elaborate...
- There were fewer items on the menu than usual, in particular mains. But, there were enough from which to choose.
- Server took his sweet time returning to take our order. After dropping off drinks, said he'd be back in a minute after dropping off a glass of wine at a different table. One minute turned out to be 10. He was very pleasant when attentive, but not the most attentive.
- Asked for butter for the bread, never came.
- Tables to our left and right were left uncleared for 10 - 15 minutes apiece. Not a travesty, but also not up to standard for this restaurant.
- We opted for the special 25 oz. bone-in ribeye for two, with brussels sprouts and broccoli rabe. Two things here. Shame on us for not asking the cost, but when a special does cost $138 -- even at The Inn where prices are a little higher than other comparable restaurants, the server should proactively share that information. We were a bit surprised when we received the check, as it was definitely NOT a $138 dish. Plus, it was served with green beans, not brussels sprouts. Again, not a travesty, but I wanted the sprouts and would have ordered a side dish had a known. On the positive side, the broccoli rabe was outstanding.
- No goodbye, thanks for coming, come again... from anyone as we made our way from the lower-level dining room to exit. Not from the server, not from the hostess, not from anyone. At a place like The Inn, this should be the standard.
- On the positive, side, love the ambience at The Inn. The lower-level is very intimate, though somewhat reminiscent of a mid-evil dungeon. We love it though and appreciate being seated there each time we visit.
Beautiful, outdoor setting. Very good service. Usually love the food, but this time it was just good, not great. My butternut squash soup was lacking flavor and texture and our shared french fries were cold (second time I've gotten cold fries at the Inn). Our crispy salmon sushi was excellent and my daughter's tuna tartare was very good (though she wished it came w/something to put it on beside the table bread). A bit disappointing because our experiences in the past have been so good.
Service and food were excellent. Well done! Will be back
best black truffle pizza ever!!! and the service is impeccable as always.
I’ve been to this place 20+ times and I always think it is fine.
Chicken was tough. Burrata was very runny. Just an average meal.
So cozy and special!
Disappointed. Was dining alone since on a business trip and it was tough to get service. Have eaten at many JG restaurants and usually surprised and always find a new favorite dish. But everything here felt heavy. Not balanced in terms of flavors and textures. Nothing bright or acidic to lighten up the heaviness. Even the chocolate chip cookie was meh ...overly sweet, the chocolate had no flavor and not even a little salt to kick it up a notch. Also, they were selling a $12 bottle of wine for $18 a glass. Outrageous. Honestly offensive. Won’t be back.
Service was pretty slow and disorganized. Assuming a smaller staff given Covid- but not impressed.
Delicious food. Service a bit inattentive.
So good! This was my first time at this location, really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
It took inordinately long between courses! It wasn't busy so I am not sure why. the dessert came out about 15 minutes before coffee!!!
Superb ambiance and they pay attention to service quality. The restaurant is very nicely lit and has an excellent feel to it with exposed beams and fireplaces. The only thing to improve would be the bench seats which are very 70's. The seat in front of the fireplace though is one to cherish.
Food simple and very tasty! Very simple environment.
Every course was so tasty and well prepared. Go often before it gets too cold to sit outside.
Although our reservation was delay by 20 min, the service as food was amazing! We got some free dessert too not counting this cute “happy anniversary” delicious cookie ❤️
Very poor. Expected so much more. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there. There are a lot better options available in the nearby areas
Waitstaff seemed angry about the outside seating. Seats were wet, when it was pointed out to the waitstaff they said everything was going to be wet then went back inside instead of offering to dry. Service seemed to be ignoring the outside tables. Heaters did not provide heat.
A lot has changed. Limited menu selections - even by JG standards.
Service was terrible which has never happened before - may have been better off in a self serve environment.
Rib eye special was mentioned to other tables around but not to us. Server checked in after 80% of each course was complete.
I am aware that times have changed but management needs to step up and put some effort in.
Love the ambiance and food created by Jean-George at the Inn. This is a definitely a winner and a gem in Westchester.
Very disappointing. Went there to celebrate a special occasion. I expected exceptional food and service based on reviews and cost. The food was good, but nothing special and the service was poor.
As always, food was delicious, but the service was so so, once we got our first round of drinks, we never got asked once again for more drinks.
The host at entrance was not very welcoming either.
We are very experienced with fine dining and have high expectations when patronizing world-renowned Chef restaurants. Our expectations were the same, if not higher, for a Jean-George restaurant. Our appetizers were amazing, as expected. Then our entrees arrived and that is when our meal experience went sour. The steak dish I ordered was well done, the brussel sprouts were burnt and salty, and the plating was as if we were at a backyard picnic. Sloppy and thrown together. Then to add insult to injury the waiter was very offputting as if he were annoyed from when we sat down. The meal was removed from our bill so I'm thankful for that. But our first time at the Inn wasn't impressive and it was disappointing.
First male Waiter was awful. Not friendly no manner at all. He just does not want to work. That was our impression. He forgot everything we asked for.
The second waiter meagan was wonderful, professional. We were saved by her. Bread was so so. Not fresh not warm either. We asked for a butter because it maybe good with sourdough. Served cold. So the service is not quite for jean George’s.
For the 2nd time in 2.5 weeks we have had very poor service. Waiting 30-40 min between courses. No one around to order a drink from. I had to go inside to order my drink with waitress.
Also the restrooms were dirty downstairs this afternoon. No paper towel in one. No soap in another. Papers all over the floor.
We loved the food and JG but service is not up to the level of the kitchen food coming out. Needs work!
Very nice brunch inside but near window. Well prepared chicken milano, eggs benedict with salmon and burger. Go for the warm apple pie - looks small but could serve 2!
the waitress was not very welcoming. A smile would have been nice since we travel from far away to have this experience.
We were on time for reservation and were made to wait - bc of Covid were not able to sit at bar and had to stand with masks on for 10 min bc being seated. The waiter served us bread with no butter or olive oil - we had to ask for it and took at least 5 min or more to get olivia oil- then I asked for salt had to ask 3-x two different people bf getting salt. We were then told kitchen was backed up and our entrees would be delayed - was hard to understand that bc they only take reservations- are not at full capacity bc of Covid. That being said Food was A+ the sushi appetizer was incredible/ the roasted chicken entree was fabulous/ the ambience was great. The staff was very polite and Courteous. Just for the price would have wanted more attentive better service. I suspect our waiter was new and unsure. We ordered the Hot Cider with our desert and he wasn’t aware it was on the menu. The food is Outstanding 👍🏻
We dined outside on a beautiful November evening and the food was yummy.
Always and enjoyable experience, especially now in these trying times!
There are always unforeseen challenges with outdoor dining—however, dealing with a persistent raccoon scurrying around the patio, a heater that kept running out of gas and service that took multiple reminders and delays to get our drinks, left us with a very unpleasant experience. The food was very good but unfortunately it could not make up for service and ambience. You’d think with all those unpleasantries, they would have offered us a round of drinks or dessert, but sadly, we received nothing and left paying a lot for a very expensive meal without any of the satisfaction.
Horrible service. Our waiter was dismissive and could not care less about our table. Food was good but lack of service dominated the meal
Great food. first course great, second even better. lovely place. this is my favorite restaurant in Westchester
Service was challengingly slow and inattentive and not what we expected from the restaurant. The server probably came to table only four times over the course of two hours. Had to ask another server to bring more water to table and another server for the check as our server was MIA. While people appeared to be working the restaurant their was conspicuously little attention being paid to guest at least in our area. No manager chipping in the make sure everyone and everything was ok. An all around poor showing and cannot recommend despite the food being generally good. We struggled with whether or not to actually provide this review given how challenging it has to be for restaurants but others should be aware of the change in service level occurring at IPR (which we haven’t experienced at other restaurants)
Fantastic and comfortable outdoors!
