Here, Jean‑Georges cultivates a truly seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine, with ingredients sourced from the Hudson Valley and New England, whenever possible. Constructed in 1833 as a residence and serving later as an inn, the building has been painstakingly renovated to preserve as many of the original materials as possible, including four working fireplaces. Thomas Juul-Hansen designed the restaurant’s interior with a modern yet rustic sensibility; zinc and marble accent stone and reclaimed wood. The restaurant’s lighting, artfully conceived by Hervé Descottes, employs paper shades and Edison fixtures to create warmth throughout.

The seating is tight — more suited to an urban setting than a country escape. Tables atop one another make for a less than fully relaxed environment. Service was decidedly challenged: too many tables were assigned to a single server who, as a result, could not be adequately attentive. Add a support staff that seems woefully undertrained and you get mediocre service (at best). Food is delicious — but is overshadowed by service challenges. It’s too bad: the setting and physical space are lovely and charming. But you’ll spend the night waiting (too long) for each course, commiserating with too-close fellow diners about delays, wondering if you’ll get another pour of water or wine, and being disappointed overall that service just doesn’t measure up.

We always go to The Inn for special occasions. This was our wedding anniversary. The Inn never disappoints.

We had a 7:45 reservation. We were not seated until 8:45. The restaurant staff didn’t seem to care about getting us seated. The reservation was made over one month in advance.

The Inn is one of my favorite restaurants in Westchester. The food is spectacular. I just wish is was closer to my home so I could go there more often.

Host was incredibly rude. I arrived on a quiet weekend night without a reservation with the intent to sit at the bar. Unfortunately, the bar was closed, so my wife and I returned to host station to request a table. The restaurant was unusually quiet with many many open tables, however the hostess requested that we wait while she reviews her arriving guest reservations. We waited patiently for about 5-10min when I returned to hostess to inquire the status of our table. She commented that she needed to wait for all her reservations to arrive before she could seat us. I went into to open table and shared that “she has open seatings available every 15 minutes throughput the evening starting with right now”. I asked, “do I need to make a reservation to be seated at one of the 10’s if open tables ?”, and she commented “yes”. I expressed my incredulousness with her request and told her that I would proceed with charade and booked a table on open table.

Having dined many many times at this establishment, I cannot imagine that they would treat a customer in this manner. I’m a local resident, and although I consider the Inn a excellent dining experience, their front of house choice for the guests first experience after walking through the door should be thought a bit more carefully. The responses I received were completely inconsistent with the reality of the situation and I was certainly not made to feel welcome.

Excellent food, drinks and people watching. The service is wonderful and attentive. We have yet to have a bad meal and always enjoy. A little pricey but well worth it on occasion.

Always a great experience. Get the shrimp salad, pork chop, and chocolate cake! Service by Brian, and Isabel was fab! Nelson the GM is hands on and makes sure you have a great evening. Valet team is the fastest anywhere!

My wife and I came here for her birthday this weekend. The food was exquisite. Our favorites were the green pea guacamole and the pear dessert. Both the salmon and Black Sea Bass were prepared well and the flavor profiles went together in interesting ways. Our service was fantastic, even when it got busy. We made it to our movie in Ridgefield with plenty of time to spare!

the food is usually very good but not this time. Cheese burger under cooked in middle and over cooked on outside and cheese was solid - don't know how you could even do that. Very surprising.

Consistently the most enjoyable experience - and food quality - in the area. The design of the space is perfection, the perfect blend of country chic and city sophistication. The food is simple, top quality and beautifully presented. Unpretentious perfection!

I would recommend this restaurant, but my last experience was uncharacteristically poor. The service was extremely slow with no information from the waiter and the noise level was very loud with a private party that was being held there that did not make the dining experience at the excellent level that I have seen it before. I will be back in hopes that they will not have these issues again!

Been here so many times but this experience was completely sub standard. Sat for too long waiting for our table. Receptionist said she couldn’t find us but we were at the downstairs bar like we said we would. Wait service was ok but there was an uncomfortable amount of time between the first and second course. Kale salad was good but almost too much heat in the dressing, and we like it spicy. When the second course did come, the salmon was lacking any semblance of seasoning and the sirloin cut was really tough. We just couldn’t wait to get out of there and probably won’t be back for a while.

We were very unhappy with the person who seated us at the restaurant . I spite of many empty tables he did not agree to change us to any of them . They were empty till we ended out dinner . He did. One and ask us if we wanted to change sometime in the middle of our dinner and we declined . He said the bookings were cancelled . Hard to believe that so many bookings were cancelled . That totally ruined our experience on a special day .
However I will note that the person who was taking the order somewhat made up for this bad experience . He was wonderful

This restaurant is a joke, period. Outrageously priced for mediocre and unimaginative food served in a beautiful restaurant by Ellie May (think flannel shirts with jeans!). Why was this lunch service on a Wednesday not offered the special or 3 course meal for $35??? Lazy chef. Slow service. Restaurant only 1/5 full at prime lunch hour. Never again.

Overall, pretty good. I always think eating at a Jean George Restaurant will be an amazing memorable experience, but usually they're just average meals with a slightly too high check at the end. No complaints though.

Wonderful evening!! Food was super! Great head waiter. Table was tight for 3 people - felt a bit like being on an airplane. Also everyone hits their heads on the lights.

We have been here quite a few times and this time was very disappointing the services was not very attentive and my steak was fat and grizzly. The waiter came when we first were served then didn’t return until desert I had at least a half of my steak in a pile the bus server ask if it was okay . We explained how we found the steak and he said he will let the waiter know . The waiter ignored the disappointment and served us tea and dessert and we left. I would not expect the quality of meat that was served nor for it to be ignored . Hopefully this will help their purchasing department when they buy a sirloin.

When we arrived, we were informed that there was no chicken, beef or salmon available to order as a main entree and a few minutes later, there was no pork chops either, which left us with only a couple of options. It was surprising as it is a nice restaurant.

We enjoy Inn at Pound Ridge. The atmosphere is casual and the food is flavorful and interesting.
The food is a step above a typical restaurant.
Unfortunately we went there on 9/15/19 which was a Sunday night. Our reservation was for 6:30pm which is not late. We were informed that they were out of their delicious crab meat appetizer and their equally delicious parmesan chicken with artichokes. These were the two dishes I had planned to order.
I was very disappointed. Had the burrata instead for an appetizer which was fine but did not like the sauce that came with it. Ordered the salmon which was fine. The corn it came with was good.
So - do we not go there on Sunday night ? Or perhaps we should call ahead and reserve the dishes we know we want. I'm not sure what to do.

The restaurant could not accommodate all of the reservations they had taken. We were not seated at our table for over an hour after our reservation time. The server was completely inattentive and took over 30 minutes to give us menus or take a drink order. When the food arrived it was cold and terrible. What a shame because this is one of our favorite restaurants. The hostess mentions that it is under new management.

The food and ambiance is great, it’s unfortunate that it is quickly ruined by the inattentive, poor attitude of the waiter and the back up who is more eager to take away your plates before you finish your last bite.

The waiter came by a total of 4 times the entire time, twice because we had to flag him down to ask where our drinks we had ordered 30 minutes prior were. We got so sick of waiting to order our desserts, we ended up just asking another waiter for the check.
