Thomas Juul-Hansen designed the restaurant’s interior with a modern yet rustic sensibility; zinc and marble accent stone and reclaimed wood. The restaurant’s lighting, artfully conceived by Hervé Descottes, employs paper shades and Edison fixtures to create warmth throughout.

Very disappointed in our experience at Jean-Georges which is supposed to be a premier top of the line restaurant. When we announced our arrival, the hostess asked if the rest of our party was there (2 more people) and I said no, they should be along shortly. She then proceeded to tell me to stand over there and then seated 3 parties that came in after I did. When I inquired why, she said "well their whole party was here so I seated them and will seat you when I have another open table". Huh? I felt like I was at Outback - she should have seated us regardless - very rude. The server was just mediocre, and the appetizer plates weren't cleared before dinner came out. I just had a feeling like the whole place was being run by people who weren't trained and were about 20 years old. The bathrooms were filthy which was not good considering we are in the middle of a pandemic. So, overall I wouldn't recommend the Inn at Pound Ridge to anyone right now. Not really sure what the problem is, as I've eaten there many times before.

Wonderful atmosphere and ambiance...even transformational. Most dishes were excellent and a couple superior (salmon sushi, truffle salmon main). The wait staff was cordial and knowledgeable but was not very attentive, often disappearing for long periods...unfortunate when you need a fork or require the check. Covid separation was excellent. Temperatures are taken. We felt quite comfortable.

Total disappointment after the last time we were there and will not be back. Waiter took our order and it was like we were invisible all night, never stopped back to the table for drinks or ask how the food was. The bus service was awesome. The host seemed like he really couldn’t be bother when we complained, after my wife’s lobster came out under cooked.

Please note that we attempted to contact The Inn with our concerns, but they decided not to reply to our message and discuss our experience personally. We’ve had good meals in the past. When you plan to celebrate a special occasion at the Inn at Pound Ridge, you do so knowing that you are probably committing to the most expensive meal of the year - But it’s a celebration and you go because you hope you are going to have an experience in excellence. However, when the waiter can’t get your drink order correct, the food comes out cold and soggy, when you have to continuously ask to have your waters filled and the waiter couldn’t be bothered to check on you...then you are just getting ripped off. You pay these prices for the experience. You hope that you are investing in the enjoyment of food from the best chefs and to have an experience where you don’t have to think about anything but the reason you are celebrating. In our case, it was our daughter’s 21st birthday. We were disappointed and don’t see a reason to go back. More importantly, we were disappointed that the manager couldn’t even be bothered to return our call and discuss our experience. It’s a tough time and - even with the health risks - we wanted to support our local restaurants and try to have an experience that resembled some sort of normalcy. We wanted to celebrate in a time that there is very little opportunity to do so. We wanted to make new memories and had hoped that The Inn at Pound Ridge would provide the backdrop for this memory with great food and great service. This was not the case.

This was our first time here and it certainly will not be our last. Everything ordered was unique and flavorful, unlike anything we’d ever had before. The ambiance was mellow and quiet- perfect for our anniversary dinner. Despite being a Monday night immediately following a holiday weekend, there was still a decent amount of guests; pretty telling if you ask me!

Came here for my husband’s birthday dinner. The woman at the front who greeted us was so rude and condescending, kept rolling her eyes at us because I did not want my 1 year old to get her face temperature scanned with their bright iPad (I said they can scan her wrist but not her face). I also organized with the restaurant ahead of time to bring cake out to surprise my husband; it took them exactly 32 minutes from taking our last plate away to finally attempting to bring the cake out. By this time, my husband already left the table to wait in the car. Not really sure why they thought it was ok to take that long, they weren’t that busy, maybe they forgot.

We went for brunch with 2 kids and the food, service and decor were consistent with expectations. We had vegetarian options, and the food was good without being exceptional, which is what one expects at this price range and restaurant history (Michelin star, etc.)

I've been to the Inn at Pound Ridge well over 50 times. this was my first visit since the lockdown.
The things that came up short of my expectations were few but worth mentioning. My rigatoni and meatballs (a favorite) was good but the meatballs were a little firm compared to the soft, tender meatballs of past. The house Pinot Noir was a Burgundy which didn't suit me. They used to have a nice California Pinot that was excellent. The staff is sparse but that's for obvious reasons and the staff that's there does an adequate job. They are making due given the current situation and I have no doubt that they will be back up to the exceptional service and quality of food when the current COVID situation is behind us. It's still worth a visit to help support what was and will again be a top destination place to eat.

We spent New Year’s Eve and my dad’s birthday. The atmosphere was cozy yet elegant. The service was impeccable and we enjoyed a pre fixe menu with various delicious dishes. The tuna tartare was the best I’ve ever tasted and the black truffles brought the dish to another level. My dad got the winter chicory salad with black truffles and mustard dressing and he said it was the best salad he’s ever had and his favorite dish of the night. Then, I had the Parmesan risotto with black truffles which was excellent and the texture was creamy and rich. My brother got the seared diver scallops with cauliflower and caramelized soffrito; the scallops were cooked to perfection and were incredible. For the main course, I enjoyed the steamed black bass which had a red curry infusion and came with various mushrooms which complemented the dish quite nicely. My brother had the roasted beef tenderloin which I tasted and it was delicious. It came with Brussels sprouts and this AMAZING miso sauce which complemented it perfectly. For dessert, the restaurant brought out a delicious chocolate chip cookie on the house for my dad’s birthday and I got the dark chocolate and passion fruit tart with passion fruit sorbet. The flavor combination was immaculate and the chocolate was so creamy and smooth within the tart. My brother enjoyed then passion fruit and coconut baked alaska and the presentation of the desserts was quite beautiful. Overall, incredible experience and will most certainly be back!

We were very excited to dine at the Inn at Pound Ridge for our one year anniversary. I made a note on the Open Table reservation that it was our anniversary and even called the day of the reservation to confirm that they knew it was our anniversary. They said they knew and that they would bring us a candle and make it a very special night for us. We were quite disappointed that not one person acknowledged our anniversary throughout the entire evening. We were expecting a bit more from a Jean George restaurant.

We were at the Inn on New Year's Eve when it was a little crowded and a little noisy. We've eaten there many times that were not holidays and it wasn't crowded or noisy. The food, however, is always excellent and usually the service is, too, when it's not a holiday. On New Year's Eve, service was just a little spotty. But everyone is always very nice and accommodating. It is one of our very favorite restaurants.

It's hard to judge a restaurant by their mass holiday meal but we were even more disappointed by the service than the food even. We are very friendly and usually have a good rapport with the server. Even with few people, he didn't seem at all interested in service.
Will go again on a regular night, as the prior meal I had there a while back was outstanding.

Ate here for NYE, food was just blah, service was non-existent and slow. Tuna dish was ok and everything that followed was bland, my risotto was watery and flavorless and my fish entree was a total rip, soggy skin and a few mushrooms in a broth. I paid $500 for two people, if you're going to charge that much you should be able to back it up.

Lastly, they stated on their website that you would receive a goodies bag and a 1/2 bottle of champagne but we didn't receive anything on the way out or in. Very very disappointing meal, I've tried this place too many times now...... I'm never wasting my time or money here again. Pound Ridge is a small town and you're gaining a bad rep in the community...... Sad

The atmosphere was wonderful. We sat in the lower level and the mood was perfect - fireplaces were lit. Service was on point. Everyone friendly. The pea hummus was incredible! Could have had two orders of that and been very happy - served with delicious homemade warm pita. Highly recommend! Overall we had a terrific experience and plan to go back again. All the necessary steps were taken regarding the virus with a temp check upon entering, masks required and socially distant tables. An A+!

This was our first dining experience at this restaurant, and it certainly did not disappoint! The appetizers of Crispy Salmon Sushi and Winter Chicories & Apple Salad were truly exceptional - we could not stop remarking on how delicious both were. The Steamed Black Bass was very good, in particular the green olive dressing. The Parmesan Crusted Organic Chicken was also delightful. We will absolutely be back and have already recommended the restaurant to friends.

As a couple from NYC we felt there was some hits and some misses. Our salmon Sushi appetizer was delicious! My lobster had very little meat and was nothing outstanding as far as flavor, so not worth $48 and the fries were too salty. Our other entree of Salmon was very good as well as our cocktails. Desert menu was very basic for what would be considered a fine dining restaurant. Our carrot cake was average, could have gotten the same at Whole Foods (maybe they don’t have pastry chef during COVID times). I am sure for the area it is a great place but as a NYC resident I would say many better restaurants for a lot less in the City.

We were at the Inn at Pound Ridge for a special prix fixe Christmas dinner. Everything was excellent, though very expensive. With indoor dining being shut down in NYC, it was nice to be able to eat indoors.
