Please visit our website to learn more about The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges http://www.theinnatpoundridge.com/ Chef Jean‑Georges introduces his latest venture, a casually elegant restaurant ensconced in the picturesque town of Pound Ridge, New York. Here, Jean‑Georges cultivates a truly seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine, with ingredients sourced from the Hudson Valley and New England, whenever possible. Constructed in 1833 as a residence and serving later as an inn, the building has been painstakingly renovated to preserve as many of the original materials as possible, including four working fireplaces. Thomas Juul-Hansen designed the restaurant’s interior with a modern yet rustic sensibility; zinc and marble accent stone and reclaimed wood. The restaurant’s lighting, artfully conceived by Hervé Descottes, employs paper shades and Edison fixtures to create warmth throughout.

Great place to take that special someone. Staff was very attentive. Cocktails prepared to perfection. Wine paired with the meal was spot on. Recommendations from our server couldn't have been better. Thanks for a great evening.

The food there is always great. Ambiance and decor are magnificent. Little annoyed at their pricing on alcohol ($8 for a tonic and $16 for a glass of wine)-- but the food is consistently good there. The kale Caesar salad is amazing, as is the chicken and the pasta.

We made a reservation for 3 PM on Sunday, not knowing they closed the kitchen for lunch at the same time. No one ever reached out to us or let us know this would be the case. As soon as we walked in, we were pressured by the hostess that we’d have to order within 10-15 minutes of our 3 PM reservation. Our waiter came over two minutes after sitting down and pressured the same thing.

Why would you take a reservation at the time your kitchen closes? We felt rushed and awkward our entire meal.

The space is gorgeous and the food is above average. Would’ve been a nice meal had it not been for the unnecessary pressure at the outset. I think they need to re-evaluate their reservation policy. As currently constructed, it shows a restaurant that doesn’t have a clear identity and is not meant for an enjoyable experience.

We waited for our table for an hour and the hostess and manager were not the least bit concerned and did not do anything to make us feel better about the experience.

Arrived on time for our reservation but had to wait over 1 hour for table. Very loud and crowded. Said there were no guarantees that they would try to honor our request for table upstairs near fireplace, but I doubt they even tried, because we were seated in the drafty basement.

Overall great dining experience.
We did have to wait 1/2 hour for our reserved table, but our desserts were comped because of the delay. Appreciated this gesture, excellent meal in lively setting.

I made a reservation to celebrate a special event. I was seated more than 30 minutes after my reservation time with no apology. The hostess told me I should buy a drink while we waited, but the small bar area was already crowded. While I was waiting I could see people come in for the first time and be seated before me. Once we were seated, we were rushed by the staff and unable to relax and enjoy our meal. Food was mediocre and overpriced. I had a steak which had way too much salt and was a poor cut with a lot of fat. My soup was flavorless and way under seasoned. My companion’s pasta dish was also not particularly tasty. I would not go back.

Had our first dinner at The Inn on December 7. Decor was very festive and wonderful. Lots of large parties celebrating the holidays. We had a reservation for 7:15 but were not seated until closer to 7:45. The service was VERRRRY slow. Waiter was great and very apologetic. Food came out slow but hot (I had the salmon and my husband had steak which he said was way too salty), and our drinks were empty most of our dining duration. We also sat staring at empty plates for quite some time. It wasn't until I loaded them up and put them at the edge of the table that they were taken away. The manager came by once and explained they were down two staff and gave us complimentary dessert. Not a great experience but would go back when it's not the holidays and give it another try.

The tuna tar tar and the peeky toe crab appetizers were delicious! The french fries were tasty too.

Once again a great dinner. Thanksgiving was over, the kids and grandkids were back in the City and it was snowing. A perfect time to head to the Inn.
Our only complaint? It seemed like everything was a tad salty: this included the escarole/apple salad, the sea bass and the monkfish (granted, spinach usually requires salt). Still a very enjoyable time and kudos to the staff for braving the weather.

I asked for a well done burger and still had to send it back. We arrived right on time but were made to wait 15 minutes because the servers weren’t yet ready. We were the first customers but they didn’t have the salmon listed on the menu. They also ran out of mint teY

It took 45 minutes to get 6 beverages, a the 1 hour point asked for the bread basket, which took another 10 minutes to arrive, 45 minutes later our meal arrived. Short staffed. No on knew how to connect the beer kegs. Bathroom was out of towels and on a 2nd visit out of kleenex. Mentioned all to the person in charge and they said sorry. Poor excuse. All of which left me wondering why I had looked forward to eating there.

Understating that dining out on a big holiday it’s hard to get everything right, the Inn managed to get very little right. Had a 4:15 reservation; waited 45 minutes to be seated. Multiple excuses, then they seated us downstairs in a bar alcove.
Had to go make a fuss and got moved to a table upstairs by the fireplace. Hummm, why wasn’t that table available 5 minutes earlier?
We were told they’d make it up to us throughout the evening, they sent an extra appetizer. Would have preferred a cocktail. Finally, considering the price point, the food was a huge disappointment. The butternut squash soup was mediocre, the pork chop was thick, encased in burnt prosciutto, and chewy. Not the first time the Inn has missed the mark. Thinking twice before dining there again.

The service was excellent. The food was a mixed bag. Mainly, my entree was lukewarm and so was my cappuccino. The others in my party enjoyed their meals and mine was very good, just not hot. I will go back

Lovely space and lighting. Regarding the service, the Main waitress was delightful, friendly, attentive and helpful with the menu, while the attendant in charge of bringing and removing plates was quite brusk talking to us and with her handling of dishes. Regarding the food, the hummus and butternut squash soup were excellent but the salads (chicory, apples and Gorgonzola) were average at most; the main courses we ordered (monkfish and sesame crusted salmon) were decent but we expected much more. Desserts were a mixed bag: the apple tart was not warm enough while the warm pear was very tasty. We came from Manhattan to celebrate a birthday expecting more from this meal.

Have been multiple times for lunch. Food is uninspired compared to any other Jean George restaurant. I would go to Nougatine anytime over the Inn. Always leave feeling it was pleasant enough, but the food makes the balance in value drop to a low point for JG.

We have been going to the Inn since it opened. The foods is delicious, apps are better than main courses. But, every time we go there is some glitch in the food service. The other night we waited at least 15-20 for our apps- soup and the crispy salmon. Our waitress who was lovely said there was a issue in the kitchen and the order did not get processed. This has happened to us at least 50% of the times we have dined here. Perhaps the restaurant is too large for the size of the kitchen? Not sure what the problem, but the food is pricey and Jean Georges is an acclaimed chef. They need to do better. Plus to make matters worse, my leftovers- half of my chicken dinner and mashed potatoes were gone when I gave the hostess my claim check number for it! I get not wanting to see unsightly leftover bags at the table, but would have preferred to have my food that I paid for.

We usually love this place, but our last visit was a doozie. Service was slow and inattentive. And our food was so-so, as well.

We went for brunch and between the three of us ordered the burger, omelette and avocado toast. The burger was overcooked and the omelette was lacking flavor. The avocado toast was exactly as you would expect, but nothing special so to speak.

We had to wait over twenty minutes for a table and settled for a table in a different area than what we requested because it was so late. Dinner was delicious! We loved everything! But we had put on our reservation that it was our anniversary and no one acknowledged that or celebrated that in any way. That was sad because we watched everyone near us with complimentary celebratory desserts. Very disappointing

Always a fun experience and the food is always very good. The service is a little "choppy", but the ambience and good food tends to overcompensate.
