Please visit our website to learn more about The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges http://www.theinnatpoundridge.com/ Chef Jean‑Georges introduces his latest venture, a casually elegant restaurant ensconced in the picturesque town of Pound Ridge, New York. Here, Jean‑Georges cultivates a truly seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine, with ingredients sourced from the Hudson Valley and New England, whenever possible. Constructed in 1833 as a residence and serving later as an inn, the building has been painstakingly renovated to preserve as many of the original materials as possible, including four working fireplaces. Thomas Juul-Hansen designed the restaurant’s interior with a modern yet rustic sensibility; zinc and marble accent stone and reclaimed wood. The restaurant’s lighting, artfully conceived by Hervé Descottes, employs paper shades and Edison fixtures to create warmth throughout.

Slow Monday night in the restaurant. Service was slow. Portions were small. Lemon Fettuccine was dry and did not have flavor. Certainly nothing like Lemon Fettuccine in Amalfi - which is what I was hoping for. Drink service and meal service each item was given to wrong person at a table of 4. So unprofessional that you can't even get straight which person at the table is #1. Waitress brought my dinner plate and basically dropped and ran, didn't even look at me or have any interaction. I was not at all impressed Dessert took 20 minutes to be served, I asked for a candle to be put in the dessert that one of my guests ordered - instead you brought her the dessert she ordered and then a second dessert cupcake with marshmallow frosting with a candle in it. So lucky me - we ordered two desserts and I got to pay for three because no one listens. Check took another 10 minutes to be presented. Not impressed at all.

We have been to the Inn at Pound Ridge several times. We typically enjoy the experience very much. Sadly, I cannot say the same for our most recent visit. The service was very slow and scattered, and the food was not up to the standards that we have come to expect from any Jean-Georges establishment. Hopefully this experience was just a blip on the radar, but we are less likely to return after this most recent visit.

This is a much better dinner spot it turns out. I would not return for brunch, service was very bad and slow, as well
it was very loud with lots of children and babies. Seems the “b team” works brunch.

Wife’s birthday.
Although I requested downstairs seating we were seated on the main level. Food was good, atmosphere was good. At least they remembered it was my wife’s birthday with a chocolate cupcake

We had a nice evening.
Service and food was good.
Salmon Sushi appetizer and Pork Chop entree was delicious.
We were disappointed with the portion of the Sea Bass entree.
Overall a good experience.

Food is consistently good. Table service was slow and average. Spoiled our experience as a result. Additionally, not impressed with the staff at the front desk. We go to this restaurant at least every 3 months. Mostly new people, who do come across as welcoming.

My family and I celebrated my parent’s 45th wedding anniversary there. I really want to emphasize the great service ... the waitress and staff were super patient with my toddler niece and my aging parents who have a difficult time hearing. The restaurant is beautiful & intimate, and the food was perfect. Fresh ingredients with light sauces & just overall great taste.

Another top notch meal in a warm and rustic setting in the middle of Westchester County from a world class chef. Valentine Day menu was choice of prix fixe or regular menu - so that was nice option. Missed my lychee-strawberry fruit Bellini (now off the menu); the pomegranate Bellini was ok, but not the same as lychee. All in all a great meal. Buratta / Black Truffle app was excellent as was my endive / blue cheese / mandarin salad. Main courses (monk-fish medallions and steak) kicked as well and the whole meal ended with a yummy chocolate dessert. See you soon ...

Got there for a 5pm Valentines day dinner. Didn’t get seated for near a half hour. Tables weren’t prepared, not even the coat room was yet open. If you take a reservation for 5pm... you should be prepared to serve at 5pm.

First time here. We dined the evening before Valentine’s Day. The ambience was wonderful. The feel of the old inn with its massive fieldstone “walls” (original fireplaces) and historic wide plank flooring was wonderfully calming. We love going out and having a drink at the bar before dinner and the bar area here was warm and inviting. We do wish that the bar was a bit bigger as there were no seats available. We did however sit at a nice bar table in quaint shelter arm chairs while we had our cocktails. The bartender Jesse was very attentive as soon as we arrived in the bar area and made wonderful martinis.

When we sat for dinner the restaurant area was quite busy, which is nice to see. Our server, though very friendly was not as attentive as we would have liked, most likely due to her workload at that time. The food we found to be excellent with flavors and combinations that we had not experienced before. We will definitely be coming back and Would highly recommend the inn to our friends and any of you who are interested and reading this review.

Cheers!

Everything was very good. Minus the hair in one meal however the manager was very generous and brought out extra desserts for us and offered to remake the meal for us.

Go for goodness sake if you live near by! This is a top notch restaurant that just happens to be outside the City.
Though I never order chicken when I eat out, I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken and was wowed.
Remember, JG invented the chocolate lava cake.

Our reservation was for three people at 7 pm on a Monday evening. The occasion was a birthday, and maybe because I made the reservation on my phone, and not my computer, I was not asked the occasion, so nothing special was done to provide a nice table or to make the dinner special. Okay - not their fault if Open Table's app does not provide a way to convey the occasion, but no effort was made to ask why were were there. Anyway, regarding that table: we three were sat at a tiny table intended for two (no kidding!): two tall, brawny guys and me at this one little 2' x 2' table that also wobbled. We did not order appetizers, mainly because nothing looked, well, appetizing. I ordered the salmon, my son a rib eye steak, and my husband the lobster. Except for the packaged mashed potatoes that my son ordered as a side, the food was pretty good. Everyone was polite but service was slow. For example, my husband ordered a second beer and it arrived ten minutes later, after he had finished his meal. At that point the restaurant was not very busy and it's hard to believe that it would take so long to get a beer. The check mistakenly charged us for something we did not order; it was fixed, of course, but it took another ten minutes and with no apology. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for quite awhile, but this will probably also be the last time we eat here - there are too many other good restaurants to choose from.

Very mediocre brunch for a restaurant with such an excellent reputation. Bread was nothing special and came out cold, coffee cups are small so I had to keep asking for refills, had to ask for milk for my coffee twice while the waiters were hanging out chatting, asked to substitute a side salad for the potatoes with my omelette and only received lettuce leaves, asked for dressing on the side and was given about 2 teaspoons of dressing in a condiment dish, my husband's tuna burger was tasty but dry...Need I say more? Save your money and go to a diner.

Excellent food, ambience and setting. Service was slow - long wait for menus, water, order taking etc.
Some of the serving team were friendly, some cold. Servers were unaware of what else was going on in the room... walked by our table numerous times and ignored us while we tried to ask for assistance.

have been going to The Inn since shortly after it opened, they NEVER disappoint! From the setting and decor to the staff from the front desk to the bartenders to the waitstaff, the experience is always wonderful. That said, it's all for naught if the food is not great, and that is the other constant with The Inn at Pound Ridge. The food is always delicious. It's just under a half hour from our home, we could get to the city in about that same time, but more often than not for a casual night out or to celebrate a special occasion, this is our "go to" place. We were just there as a party of 6. You would think between all of the drinks and all of the courses that there might be one thing slightly askew. Not the case. if you are thinking of going, stop thinking and just make a reservation. you will be very glad you did.

I'm very disappointed. We've dined here before many times and had enjoyable meals, something has radically changed... The favorite item on the menu (pork chop) was removed for a duck breast, the waitress said the chef will be bringing it back soon that they wanted to try something different--well then why not just do duck as a special...??? Needless to say, butternut squash soup was ok, just ok.. pasta course of butternut squash ravioli was overpowered with balsamic vinegar sauce and raviolis were barely cooked... Pizza course was tasty at least but runny/mushy. my rigatoni with meatballs sauce was actually inedible, spicy as hell and not in a good way..

My wife and I had severe stomach pains all night..

I do not leave bad reviews ever, but for a place that is supposed to be exclusive, they deserve this.

I will never go back. They earned this review.

Our food was outstanding! The service was terrible. Our appetizers came out before we even got our drinks. Seriously 25 min for our cocktails to be delivered. We sat with empty dishes in front of us. Asked for additional bottles of Pellegrino and had to repeatedly ask for them. We literally had nothing to drink with our dinner. When you are paying $400-$500 for your experience, it is disappointing to deal with inept service.

This restaurant never lets us down. Delicious mushroom crusted salmon, apple pie with cinnamon ice cream SO good, terrific ginger lime mocktail. Martha Stewart was there dining with her family ... would she go to a mediocre dinner joint? No. Thanks for a fun evening, Inn at Pound Ridge. We’ll be back.

We had a disappointing dinner here on a weekday evening. We have eaten here many times and find that there are multiple reasons for our low rating. The basic menu has not changed in years. The service is inattentive and slow. The food was not well prepared and certainly not up to luxury chef Jean-Georges standards. The calamari appetizer was overdone and tasted as if it went from freezer to microwave to table. The duck was unremarkable. The pricey burger was greasy and overly salty. Cocktails here are expensive - $17 and up and the wine list is short and includes few, if any, bottles under $60. We love the atmosphere...roaring fires, convivial conversation in an attractive setting, but this does not make up for the uneven service, unremarkable food and high prices.

Another wonderful night at the Inn. Us locals are lucky to have such a really good restaurant in our neighborhood. I would love them to have live music downstairs on some nights !
