We’re steps away from Bryant Park, Times Square and the Theater District, making us the perfect pit-stop for a pre-theater bite (or post-theater), lunch meeting, after work drinks and more.
The food was healthy and very good. Not ordinary pub fare. The waitperson was lovely. The only issue is it took almost 45 minutes for the food - two salads - to arrive. And it was lunchtime midweek. Good place provided you have time to spare. Not so good for lunch hour.
Good location near Times Square, small plates good for sharing. Nice drink selection but place is very load if you wanna have conversations.
Great food and great service. What else do you need? I recommend this fine restaurant to all
I love this place! Deviled Eggs are a MUST. Perfect pre-or post-show place for drinks and food. Everyone is friendly and the drink and food selection are a joy.
This is more of a bar than a restaurant. There are very few entrées, mostly small plates. It is not cheap. The service was good. But it is dark and tavern like on the inside. If that’s what you’re looking for, then this is it.
The City experienced a major power outage while we were dining. Our server apologized for the lack of music (blown system) and then proceeded to keep us updated with any news. She could not have been any friendlier, even when they got slammed with customers (lots of places had no power). Three of us shared halloumi fries, Brussels sprouts (so fresh tasting!), crispy deviled eggs, burrata with tomato toast (what I want to eat everyday for the rest of my life) and the duck meatballs. None of us were very hungry when we walked in, but we licked the plates clean. Seriously underrated.
I’ve been recommending The Independent all around town—second time there in two weeks! What a great place to be welcomed into just off of the hustle and bustle of the Theater District. Anna and Andrew could not have been more lovely! Great people make a great restaurant...go...enjoy...
The salads were full of wonderful ingredients. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. It is definitely on our list for a return visit.
Fantastic drink menu and eclectic and delicious food pairings. Was a gem of a place and will definitely visit again on our next visit to Times Square!
Easy walk from our hotel. Enjoyed the house Sangria and hearty bar food. Quite tasty and fair priced.
Thursday evening at 7pm. Food was poorly prepared and the hangar steak entree special was really not good. Even our server said that she doesn’t recommend people order entrees because they aren’t ‘the best’. Soggy fries, lousy side salad and overcooked tiny piece of meat. Cocktails tasty. Ambiance is best part. Eat light snacks and go elsewhere for dinner.
Good for afterhours drinks! A bit loud but festive.
Food was fresh and delicious. Our party ate fairly lightly but we were not disappointed. Strawberry salad with goat cheese, zucchini noodles, salad topped with salmon and French onion soup were ordered and every last bite eaten. Waitstaff were prompt and efficient. A nice place to relax and talk with friends!
Hidden gem, right off 7th Ave. Nice bar, great bar and wait staff, limited choices, but great food! Very good experience. I would go back and recommend to friends
Reasonably priced. Food on the menu is good. It is a limited menu. For example, no mint tea. A good choice for a solid meal near Times Square.
Great service ! Nice stay! Overall a great experience
Love this place. Great service. Tasty food. Check it out.
Anna was an angel!
