The Hyde House
Welcome to Hyde House! RESERVATIONS ARE FOR DINING ROOM ONLY. Patio is first come first serve. We look forward to serving you.
I had reserved a table to have brunch with my friends for my birthday. We were asked to move from the lounge area upstairs to the restaurant because our party size had decreased. After having our meal, we were ushered to leave and go outside if we would like to stay because they had others waiting on our table. I'm normally not one to give poor reviews but I found this experience to be incredibly rude.
Exceptional food at the given price point. Taste and appearance was beautiful. Will definitely recommend and I will be returning!
Wonderful service and great food! GF options available!
What a quaint little find! Curated menu and wine list. Especially loved the Kale Caesar! One tiny service flaw—would have loved the entrees served after we were done with our salads, but service was friendly and smooth overall. Will definitely go back!
Great food and great environment with excellent service! Thank you!
Hillary was so pleasant and attentive. My dinner was the most expensive item on the menu and I would say it was less than average. It was the NY Strip, super chewy and not very flavorful. Would I go again, yes, I would try it again.
Fun restaurant w great food & service. It was seriously 80 something degrees in there for dinner though. Couldn’t get past it even though everything else was dialed in. Love the place in the summer and sitting outside but inside is too hot to dine inside again.
Quaint, very personable, North End restaurant for date night with my wife. Our waitress, Haley, was very friendly and attentive and enhanced our 1st visit to the Hyde House. The Mac n' Cheese was the best we've had in a long time. The New England Clam Chowder was also superb. The Pork Cuban Sandwich was good. My only downside was the fewer menu selections than we would like to see. We ate inside, but this is clearly a great place for patio dining in good weather.
Outstanding service. Our server was knowledgeable, personable and attentive. She made us feel welcome.
The wine was a good value and was enjoyed by all.
The food, however, needs some work. My steak was cooked as I requested but it had a lot gristle. A real turn-off. The roasted vegetables were overcooked and dry.
This place has potential but it was not right on this night. The great service saved it from being a disappointment.
Great night - our food was grest, waitress was fantastic and they accommodated our rambunctious 3 year old! Thank you
Excellent food prepared with a little imagination - far better than most meals I've had in Boise. The ambiance could be improved. It was cold in the restaurant so I had to keep my coat around my shoulders and the chairs are hard, flat wood, which is also typical for Boise. Most of the restaurants here are trying to force you out as fast as possible by making the seating as uncomfortable as possible. I suggest adding cushions to the chairs, turning up the heat and turning down the lights a little to make the room warmer and more inviting.
Great staff and food!
This is a great little gem tucked away into a unique area of town. The inside is intimate, quite and charming while the patio is large and engaged with the neighborhood around it. I was very impressed with the quality and service. Delicious plates of quality food. The servers worked seamless to appear at the perfect moment but left us to our privacy the rest of time, never intruding. Thanks for a beautiful Sunday dinner.
Delicious food and cozy atmosphere. Staff is wonderful. Definitely recommend the Hyde House for food and drinks or just drinks!
There are so many great restaurants in Boise and this one fell flat. The inside is tiny and hot. The outside is live music. The food was mediocre. The service was fantastic though.
Took wife, daughter and her fiance to lunch. Small portions, high prices. Air conditioning was poor. Guess we're paying for the location. Cubano I had was a bit greasy. Salad rather bland. Sorry, but I think the prices are about 25% too high for what we got. Place is a bit rough, as far as furniture and ambience. Not going to knock it too hard, it's Hyde Park, but probably won't go back.
I was hoping to enjoy the lovely patio as I had made reservations several weeks in advance. Unfortunately, we were seated inside, in an empty dining room, while the masses were seated on the patio. I'm not sure what good a reservation is when you end up with the spill-over seating.
Hello Max, As it says when making a reservation, we only reserve tables for the dining room. You are always welcome to make a reservation just in case and grab a spot on the patio if available!
Fun place to eat. Be aware that it is actually a house that has been renovated, so the inside dining area is very tiny...there are only 5 tables inside in addition to a small bar which is just next to it. There is a nice patio with more seating outside. The food was good and reasonably priced. I had the Cubano sandwich with a salad, which had good flavor but was very dry. The ciabatta bread on the sandwich was overly toasted, but my salad was excellent. My husband ordered the trout which was very good. We also shared and orange cream float that was super yummy. The menu is small, but has interesting dishes that are worth a try. I hope to go back and try other items in the menu. I recommend trying out this gem in Hyde Park.
Overall very very good. We'll be back. The ramen dish was outstanding.
The menu is very intentional. Absolutely delicious! A wonderful addition to the neighborhood
I wish every single restaurant in Boise was exactly like this place, but then this place wouldn't be as special :) Thank you for creating such a special place for us. I love it. Perfect service, perfect food, perfect atmosphere.
Cute north end restaurant. Limited menu but that’s ok. Food was good. Beer and wine only (plus some canned cocktails). Will definitely go back
It was a long wait for our table but the Food was outstanding.
We enjoyed our experience at Hydes house. We had a reservation however still had to wait upon arrival. There is not a lot of inside space for dining however they had a great outdoor space. There were plenty of people sitting outside however it had rained and we did not want to sit outside so we did wait for a table inside. The place is in an old renovated house which makes it funky but full of charm. The food was awesome! We loved every dish. We had the lamb and cheese meatball appetizer, some vegan butternut squash soup and we shared the more than enough for 2 cubano sandwich. All the food was EXCELLENT. Staff was attentive and very helpful. Highly recommend!
Love this plsce
We've been a few times to the Hyde House for lunch. This time we brought our dog and sat outside in the fresh air. Luckily, it was not too cold for a spring day. Service was prompt and courteous and the food choices are varied and interesting. Loved the brussel sprout salad.
