Everything was wonderful! Efrain is an excellent server, very polite and extremely knowledgeable. The food and tea were absolutely delicious. I will be back the next time I am at The Huntington.
The petite bites offered in their English tea service is lovely. The entire experience was memorable and left us with an indelible impression. If you love culture, refinement and beauty, the Huntington Library’s Tea Room is a must visit. You forget all about time there. The peace and tranquility is good for the soul.
Great experience. Food was delicious. Tea was fragrant and I wish they sell it.
Perfect as always. Had a wonderful time enjoying the tea, sandwiches, scones and desserts. It never disappoints.
Our server was Extremely nice and the food and our tea came quick, can’t wait to go again!!
The tea room was very accommodating of my dietary needs, no dairy, no cucumbers. Our server brought me a vegan assortment and it was very satisfying and delicious. I noted that they had other assortments such as gluten free. I highly recommend the Rose Garden Tea Room at the Huntington.
The rose garden, when in bloom is beautiful. Sadly it was not yet in bloom. The tea is a bit overpriced. Food was good, service was exceptional. Other drawback. $27 per person to get into the gardens before you ever get to the over-priced tea. You are allowed 1.5 hours, not a minute longer.
Wonderful scones, great tea selection, nice variety of sandwiches and desserts.
Everything was great. Very nice
Nice experience. The only thing was that, when I asked for a pot of just hot water, the waiter said that they usually charge $3 for it! After paying $37 per person (not including tax and tip), I think the extra pot of hot water should be free.
I have been to quite some tea places, and Rose Tea Garden is one of my favorites!
Our food was good. Our server (female) was very friendly and professional
Table was not ready at our reservation time, and the noise level was much louder than I remembered inside the tea room. Food is good but does not command the price per person that they now charge. Go for the experience not for the food or ambiance. The tea selection and quality is the best part of high tea at the Huntington.
This is a wonderful "special occasion" place and when I have friends from out of town, I always bring them here.
I need to draw special attention to our server Edgar who was consistently kind and gracious while managing several tables.
I'm also impressed that the staff honored a gift certificate that could have been easily 10 years old - we really appreciated it!
Looking forward to my next trip to the Tea Room :)
Having tea at The Rose Garden Tea Room was a wonderful way to end our day at the gardens. Our waiter was delightful and very sweet.
The scones, tea sandwiches and desserts were delicious!
I highly recommend the Tea Room!
Such a lovely time
It was a wonderful first time experience for my mother. She had so much fun, and our servers Joanna and Issac were fantastic!
Service, tea, and food was excellent! Looking forward to returning soon.
So sweet! We had a great time at The Huntington Rose Garden Tea Room ❤️❤️
A party of 5 woman was having a birthday celebration opening gifts etc and they were exceptionally loud - parties like that should be put in the back room.
But we love it there and love the Huntington Gardens as a whole
The Huntington Library is beautiful in itself. The ambience at the Rose Garden tea is beautiful but it really needs a major make over! The carpets are old, green and dated. The chairs could use an upgrade as well. They use to have smaller scones and prefer them over the large ones! Service was good and overall experience was good
What a wonderful experience! Beautiful little tea room. Knowledgeful and charming server. Fresh and exciting tastes for the palate. A delightful afternoon.
We sat next to kitchen and it was loud.
I miss the buffet.
Love this Tea Room! Food is excellent and staff is friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful experience thanks in part to our server. He was very pleasant. We'll be back. Thank you!
Our server David was outstanding, attentive and humorous. Our tea was very good, yummy sandwiches and berries. Desserts and scones need some help as they were dry and not very tasty. The tea room itself should be updated and opened up to the view, which is glorious!
We love the Huntington - going to try the Noodle restaurant next time. ❤️
Everything was delicious. The tea selection was awesome. The service is top notch.
I remember being here once before and it was a buffet style menu. Now it’s a set lunch with the three tiers which was still filling, but not as fun as it used to be.
The ambience was a little cheesy which I understand since it’s supposed to mimick an old tea house, but the decor could still use some upgrade. It was my boyfriend’s birthday but I didn’t get a chance to tell the server about it because I didn’t really see him that often.
The high tea is now $ 37 + $ 9 for champagne. If you add admissions....this is a crazy amount to pay. It's also no longer self serve style. They bring it to your table...and the choices are extremely limited. You get one round...so don't come hungry. It's like two scones, 2 extremely small sandwiches, 2 other savories, and 2 sweets. That's it....With taxes and tips, no champagne, we paid almost $ 50. Service was great, but I wouldn't do it again, unless money was not an issue for me at all.
Food and service are great but they try to pack in too many people in a small space with tables that are too small for 4 people. Spent most of the time juggling and trying to make space for teapots and plates. We also couldn't hear ourselves talk it was so loud.
Very nice ambiance, tasty tea and good food.
Great service and our waitress was excellent. A bit pricey for what you get, but the for special occasions, a great choice.
The price does not satisfy the food items. It is quality alright but appears to be to little to of it.
Overall no complaint!
I celebrated my mom's 92nd birthday, and as usual, service was outstanding! Everyone was highly attentive and warm, and our server, Joanna, added confidence and fun to our visit. She is professional, engaging, and anticipates needs in a timely manner. I look forward to returning!
Wanted to love this experience but felt it was average at best. For the prie fix price couldn't believe how limited food offerings were. Value was disappointing at $40-$60 a head - it ultimately gets you a few mini (finger) sandwiches, a small pot of tea, a couple small deserts and a glass of bubbly (if you order alcohol). The actual cost should have been about 1/2 or 2/3 what was paid. The cheese plate was cold and uninspired. The Server was kind and charismatic (and knowledgable about the teas and food) but mostly disappeared unfortunately after we were served food. We were able to flag down help to sheepishly request a few extra mini sandwiches later - but were disappointed that no came around to offer this, or to ask how we were doing. If you are going to have limited food, it should at least make up for it in ambience. Noise level = very loud Saturday crowd, felt like we were in a noisy pub, packed into the room like sardines. Music selection was odd for half of our meal - really loud volume... sounded like polka (?) and not soothing/inspiring/fitting with the environment at all. Maybe if you go when the roses are in season outside, it makes up for it with some views? The back room looked much more tasteful and quiet - wish we could have been seated in there. Overall, a nice thing to experience at least once at Huntington, if you're spending the day there, but the quality is not up to the standards that it presents and I won't be seeking it out again. There must be other tea experiences in LA that have better offerings and value.
Food was disappointing. Not bad, just not as good as we had hoped. That being said, it was fairly inexpensive compared to most other teas I've been to...
Food was delicious but there wasn't nearly enough for the price. Traditional tea service for 2 arrived looking like what would normally be served for one person at other locations. Wonderful staff though!
Food and atmosphere were absolutely delightful. Our server was helpful and polite, without being constantly in our space.
Will definitely be recommending the tea room to friends!
Beautiful setting, but quite pricy for what it is, especially once you add the admission fee. There are better, more authentic tea rooms. And the manager, Sarah, was snippy and unhelpful.
