This place was closed for remodeling. It actually looks exactly the same, I was half way through dinner before I even remembered it was supposed to have been remodelled. I still like the place, they could have just saved their money and kept it as is
The service here was great and the drinks were delicious. My steak was perfectly cooked but the portion was small. Brussel sprouts were delicious with all the freshly grated cheese on top. My gf salmon came in a bowl with what seemed like a tomato based soup. It wasn’t the most appetizing looking dish. I would come back here for the service, drinks, and small bites.
I’ve been many times before and this had to be my least favorite experience. This was my first time attending since it’s reopened and I’ve noticed a couple changes. They don’t have bottomless mimosas anymore, which if you’re going to have a brunch I believe it’s essential to have. Also, the menu is very limited and different from previous with food prices way more expensive. You spend more especially if you plan to have a couple drinks with your meal. I believe they are trying to change their target customers, which hey if that’s what you want then amazing but I think it’s lost the business of my friends and I.
Dishes were very well conceived, but poorly executed - fries were delicious as was the lamb rib appetizer. But main courses were all let downs with the exception of the pasta. Chicken was over cooked, potatoes so salty they were almost inedible and salmon was beautifully cooked but so grossly under seasoned as to be completely bland.
The stellar service made up for a lot. Staff were knowledgeable, fast and friendly. Given this is a new menu with new personnel in the kitchen, I would give it another try and hope they get it together.
Very surprised by the menu changes. The brunch menu was limited and there were not any champagne specialty drinks or specials. The volume of the DJs music started very low and then went extremely loud an hour later. Just doesn’t feel like my favorite go-to eatery any longer. Sidebar - the bathroom renovations was a nice surprise.
I thought the Hudson was closed for months because they were doing upgrades, but when I arrived it looked exactly as it did before... complete with a slice through one of the leather booth seats that was clearly not replaced. The only difference is their new overpriced menu. It took over 15 minutes for our server to come to the table to even greet us. Not exaggerating. The hostess was very nice and accommodating and was the only great part of the place. I don't understand what they thought when reopening to the same exact look and feel, no updates or reasons whatsoever that would make their menu worth the pricing. The food was ok, the fries were really good but the dipping sauce tasted like nothing, like watery sour cream. Very underwhelmed and disappointed. What were they closed for?? They didn't do a single thing worth the reopening.
Have always liked The Hudson and I’m glad to see it re-open, but I’m not a fan of the new menu.
Loved every aspect of dining at the Hudson. Had Manhattans at the bar, then were led to a high-top table in a quiet alcove where no one except for our server entered - so nice. Our food - outstanding. Started with amazing long beans followed by crispy cauliflower bites with aoili (we asked for sriracha to kick them up) and the most heavenly Mac and cheese we've ever had. Flank steak was flavorful and cooked blue-rare as requested, and the roast chicken was moist, flavorful and delicious. The Pinot Noir we selected was a bargain at $38 and excellent. Loved the ambiance. Had a 70's casual vibe that made us feel right at home. Waitstaff was relaxed and delightful.
Made reservations and got there and they were closed for renovations. Don’t allow the option reservations if you’re not open.
Great weekend brunch option! The food was fantastic and the staff was fun. Cool vibe. We will be back!
The Hudson never fails to offer the best ambience and service. I come here all the time, whether it be for friend gatherings , happy hours, dates or going out on a Friday night. It’s always fun, and the service is always spectacular.
I went with my friends for my sisters birthday. It was our first time but we received raving reviews though a mutual friend. It was becauseful and the food was amazing .
Great food as always
The Hudson was a perfect location to start an exciting day of discovering West Hollywood. We went there for Sunday brunch and were thoroughly impressed with the menu options, the meals we ordered and the delicious mimosas! The only disappointing factor was that there was no information about their bottomless brunch no longer being offered. They had a decent replacement, but it would have been nice to know. Overall, would recommend and come back again!
They ran out of the food item we but but waitress was super nice about it and bought us another round of drinks. Pretty loud but cool place. A lot bigger inside than it looks
Food was delicious. Service was great and the drinks were awesome as well. Overall a wonderful evening spent dining.
I have frequented the area since 1985 but never visited this establishment since it opened in 2009. The decor is rustic with low ceilings, very little lighting except some natural skylight lighting until they put a small candle on each table. They have several 1990 style can lights but not nearly enough to provide enough light to read a menu. We arrived during Happy Hour before going to a play down the street. Happy Hour prices are far and actually good for the area. The service started out good until the place got crowded, then it dropped way below standard. There obviously were not enough servers. I had to wave my hand many times and eventually get another server to call my server. The staff was nice but they were understaffed for a Saturday Happy Hour. It is VERY loud in the place as the young LOUD ill manner guest arrived. A young man and a female sat next to us and the male was unreasonably loud and disruptive to our enjoyment. Another table of 10 was extremely loud and disruptive to our enjoyment. In fact, a family of four sat on the other side of us and even commented on how they obviously picked the loudest restaurant in the city; specifically pointing to those two tables. We looked at one another in agreement and disgust. It was as if these young 20 somethings had never been taught dining manners as they did not care about their boisterous demeanor or disruptive behavior to the other diners. Never again.
Hudson was great! The only thing is that I got a burger that had a spicy sauce, but it doesn't say it on the menu, and I'm very sensitive to spice. I think it should say it on the menu. When I tried to send it back and get a new one the server was very nice but said there are a lot of tickets before mine so it would take a long time. She ended up giving me free dessert which was very kind of her! Overall great experience, but just had the spice in the burger!
The menu is short and sweet but everything is delicious almost everyone in our group ordered the New Hudson burger which was amazing!!
Server kept forgetting our drinks and food items. Outside of that, things were good
It was good. Not great. Was expecting something more special.
Good food, great music
Food was outstanding
This was my first time to The Hudson after wanting to pop in for years. The food was great! They had a good Happy Hour menu as well. My husband and I love that the restaurant is built around trees!
We had the short rib tacos and a salad which were delicious! Will definitely come back!
Love this place for brunch. They dont do bottomless beverages anymore, but they still keep their drinks affordable. Love the food and service is always great.
Loved every desert item.
Came with a friend for brunch. SO glad they held my reservation but the place wasnt too packed. I was about 20 mins late. The drinks were okay. Froze was eh. full of ice little flavor. I had the breakfast burrito and it was really tasty! They were out of cucumber i really wanted to try their 4/20 drink. nonetheless i had a mule which i sent back in exchange for another grapefruit drink which was really delightful. The server seemed super rushed like we couldnt order or eat fast enough, have mercy she must have been in a silent competition with herself... she rushed us to order, then to close out our tab and wanted us to re-open another if we were going to stay... bizzarre. oh and how can i forget so this place had FLIES! so many i felt like they should have had tables for them too, really killed my buzz. usually this spot is pretty cool but it was a bit of a let down.
Great ambiance and great food. This was my third visit to The Hudson and I am hooked.
This is my favorite neighborhood spot! Another awesome night with great friends. Great food, awesome service, perfect ambience.
Thanks for the good service ! everybody, host, server, bussers !
We had put in a reservation for 6. They sat us promptly. Our server Devon was not very attentive but was kind when he was with us. I asked the hostess to send the server to take our orders because we felt he had forgotten our table. We ordered a cheese plate and they had forgotten to provide the jam and honey that was listed. Our French fries, meant to be an appetizer, did not come until the end of the meal, which we had to remind our server about. Not the best showing this evening.
Had an early reservation for 2. They seated us in an 80%empty resteraunt at a table a didn't like. I asked to be moved to another table, the waitress went to ask the hostess, came back 10 minutes later to tell us that they didnt have any other tables for 2 available. I politely turned my head to survey the resteraunt FULL of empty tables. Her rebuttal was that they had reservations. When we left an hour later the resteraunt was still empty. VERY bad job Hudson, train your employees to do better. I was too nice and didnt feel like pressing the matter.
Had family visiting and needed an upscale but affordable place with good food and a cool setting. The Hudson fit all of the above! Very highly recommended!
Food was great! Drinks were great (although they no longer have unlimited mimosas during brunch). Service was a little slow. Not sure if it was the server or they were under staffed, he seemed to have tables far from our section.
Love the Hudson. I find myself there pretty often as they’re right around the corner of my site. Love the atmosphere and food is always delish.
Try to spicy cauliflower dish it's amazing. Great for food with friends or a casual dinner date.
Great experience, however some items on menu weren’t available.
Cool spot, but food was mediocre (my medium rare burger came well done and the bun was dried out and hard.) French fries just thrown on the plate and look lonely since quantity wasn’t terribly generous, plus zero presentation. Burgers don’t include lettuce or tomato (I asked for some sliced tomato afterwards to offset how dry the burger was, since I didn’t wish to ask to return it for a redo.) I think Hudson is better as a bar than a restaurant. Huge selection of bourbon for instance. The bar itself is beautiful except for TV slap bang in the center, destroys the overall aesthetic. Definitely would not return for a meal, but perhaps a drink.
My friends and I had a full on Blast! The DJ took me on a time travel sonically that was nostalgic and all the staff and folk there in general were very friendly! The Best Restaurant experience I’ve had anywhere this year hands down! I’m truly grateful, couldn’t have asked for a better time😃
Hudson was great for brunch! Our server was awesome and she was on top of our refills for our bottomless mimosas, which is most important for brunch:) The only complaint is the DJ is hella loud, music was good, but need it down just a notch so I can hear my convos. It was also the hottest day ever so it was a bit warm in there, but still totally worth it.
