   I had an absolutely wonderful experience at The House by Hilly Gand — a place where elegance meets culinary artistry. I chose this restaurant for a romantic evening, and it exceeded every expectation. The main course — Fillet Steak Potatoes Crispy Kale Creme Fraiche was exceptional. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked, paired beautifully with the soft, delicate texture of the potato pasta. Every bite was a delightful combination of flavor and finesse. The ambiance was truly special: warm, dim lighting that created an intimate setting, and soft background music that added just the right touch of romance. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to enhance the experience. I highly recommend The House to anyone looking for a refined atmosphere, exquisite food, and unforgettable moments. I will definitely return!

   Absolutely fantastic evening to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Great food and great service. Can not recommend this place highly enough

   Lovely table but always find them a bit small for 4 persons We had the roast turkey but the roast potatoes were soft not up to the usual standard. No condiments on table like salt and pepper we had to ask for that. Service was ok but once they serve you thats it nobody comes to ask if we need anything else we tried to get the waiters attebtiom as needed more cranberry sauce but gave up. Find delicious overall and staff lovely overall.

   Amazing food - beautifully presented, delicious and perfect size portions. Thoroughly recommend you visit The House. Fine dining at its best. I can definately see why it has been awarded its AA rosettes.

   Lovely building and ambiance, great food and very good service. Will return to experience the menu on a day other than a Sunday, but I fully expect it to be excellent. The best restaurant for miles around.

    We went for our anniversary on a Saturday night at 6.30pm. Staff were welcoming. I had a gin fizz to start which was very tasty. I had lobster starter which was creamy, zingy and delicate in flavour. My husband had the scotch egg which is always excellent. Herby and tasty. Mains were pork belly and fillet. Pork belly was perfectly cooked. Tender flesh and crunchy crackling. Great apple flavour. Fillet, flavour a bit lacking but was cooked well so that's more a reflection on the cut of beef than the production. Vegan brownie (were not vegan obvs) and cheese board were both excellent. Especially given its British cheeses only. Expresso martinis to finish. Everything is always perfectly served and delicious. Staff have right level of attentiveness. Not harassing you but you never have to look for someone. Perfect timing between courses. We have been quite a few times and it never disappoints. Was a pricey meal but worth every penny.
