The House Brasserie Ratings and Reviews
We were greeted right away with a very nice welcome. The host asked how best he could accommodate the baby in the car seat and volunteered to get a chair with arms for his mother so that she could more easily feed him. We wanted to eat outside and they made sure that we had heaters to keep us warm.
The service was impeccable. The server brought to our table a gruyere amuse bouche along with the appetizer--chicken meatballs-- that we had ordered. Both were delicious.
Everyone at the table loved their meal. We had filet mignon,, jidori chicken and grouper. We were all very pleased with the dishes.
The patio is lovely and feels very intimate. We all agreed that it would be the perfect place to come for a romantic dinner.
All in all, a perfect evening. We will be back!
Visited the House Brasserie for the first time this weekend. Loved it ! The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. This old house has great ambience. We sat outdoors which was fine as they had heaters set up so we were warm enough even in a cool evening. Would recommend this to my clients and friends.
The House is an amazing little treasure tucked away in old town Scottsdale. It was originally an old Sears and Roebuck house. Loved the story and decor, but sadly not so much the food. They attempted a Chinese menu for Christmas Eve which sounded very intriguing. However that Chinese menu had Ramen on it which should have been a Red Flag since ramen is Japanese. But I am always in search of a great Ramen place so I tried it. Big mistake! Ramen appeared to be made with angel hair pasta. They didn’t even serve it with a spoon, just chopsticks fork and knife. We were initially served another tables meal until they realized there weren’t enough entrees for everyone at our table.
Very cute place they need to focus more the food and service thou in my opinion.
We had a reservation. My friends arrived five minutes prior to our arrival. Our friend ordered and received a glass a wine before we got there. When we arrived we sat for 15 minutes before having to flag someone down to order a drink. She took our order, but said they were out of lime juice so they couldn’t make a basic margarita. Really? She also said our server would be right with us. The drinks we ordered never came. Our server never showed up. We sat for 40 minutes, with no service!!! How unacceptable. There were very few tables where we were sitting, but there were plenty of staff members milling about. No one seemed to care when we mentioned that no one was taking care of us. I’ve never ever experienced such abominable service in my life. We ended up leaving. I spoke to the manager who was apologetic, but too little too late at that point. I wondered why he wasn’t, you know, doing his job and making sure the guests were enjoying their dining experiences. I honestly thought we were being pranked. I’m embarrassed for the owner and the staff. It was an amateur display at best. This makes me really sad, because I really loved this restaurant. The food was always great, the ambiance was wonderful, and prior to this, I had never had bad service. However, the service was SO bad that I wouldn’t ever consider going back. I’m thoroughly embarrassed for this establishment and their utterly useless staff. Genuinely useless. I’d recommend firing everyone and starting over. Great restaurant turned Mickey Mouse operation. You’d get better service at McDonald’s. We ended up eating at Cowboy Ciao.
I guess an ok place. Trendy right now, but not exactly my cup of tea. A little bit too stiff, Emily was impeccable as a waiter, but we din't connect on a vibe level with her. For the money, you can get better overall experience at EddieV
The place is cute and quaint Wonderful ambiance for an intimate dinner. We had the foi gras(sweet version) which was wonderful to start. The tomato bisque was wonderful. Full of flavor with a southwestern twist. The Gem lettuce was refreshing. . My husband ordered the lamb bolognese which he devoured so quickly.
I had the white grouper which was cooked just right.
Love the food and ambiance, Great date place.
Definitely will come back!
Wow! What a surprise! A great cozy, romantic restaurant. Romantic lighting and noise level where you can hear every one around the table talking. They have the largest Christmas evergreen tree I saw out side the North West Coast it was planted in 1943 by the original owner. Ok back to the food it was all amazing, the steak and Grouper were done to perfection. Great wine list along with outstanding service. The building is an original Sears and Roebuck mail order house. As you can see I was totally impressed and on top of that every one was dressed for a dining and a social experience. Men in dress slacks with open collared shirts, women is dresses and no one was wearing a T-shirt or base ball hat at the table. We loved the ambiance and food so much can’t wait till we go back. Loved, loved, loved this place, you can not go wrong. A go to place to bring girlfriend, wife, significant other and friends.
You really have a feeling that you are dining at someones nice home outside under market lights. The menu was thoughtful, interesting and service superb. I met friends here and it would be great for a small gathering or a date. The evening was beautiful and even cocktails and apps would be fantastic.
Wonderful staff!!! Very inviting and very helpful The bartender is has a great personality and the hostesses were charming Very beautiful to sit outside.
The service was impeccable. Our server was perfect
A great place for business because it’s not too loud and is casual but sophisticated
Excellent food - especially the “sharing” plates (appetizers) and the sides. (I could make a whole meal eating the Brussels sprouts, Dungeness crab fried rice, and roasted cauliflower. Wanted to order their Mac and cheese, but I resisted!! ) Lovely ambience outside under the tent. (Inside has a darker, pub-like vibe; it would be romantic If the music weren’t so loud.). If the weather is pleasant, opt for outdoor seating. Emily was an excellent waitress - she was well-versed on the wine selection and the menu items! It wasn’t an inexpensive evening, but well worth it. One negative: no chocolate options on the dessert menu. Maybe next time????
We enjoyed everything about the restaurant. The patio ambiance in the evening with the lights was the highlight. Very attentive and professional yet casual service. We are from San Francisco and went for my son's 25th birthday and the whole experience was unforgettable.
First time visiting and will definitely be going back. The restaurant is so cozy and cute inside and out. The food was deliscious and the service vice was great. It’s not cheap to eat there, so it wouldn’t be a place I’d go too often, but I will certainly go back again.
I have been here several times and always enjoy the patio. I have two comments on the food. The Sunday Brunch menu is completely lame and I won't go for brunch again. I always order the swordfish "au poivre" which is no longer on the dinner menu so I was disappointed. I had clients with me this time and they were pleased. I tried to order a Sonoma Chardonnay only to be told that they were probably out of it leaving ONE Chardonnay on the wine list at $95/bottle. This is pretty lame also, in my opinion.
It was quite a disappointment. Their seemed to be 2 waiters and 20 bus boys. We did not receive water for 15 minutes, then our drinks took another 15-20 minutes and my drink order was never brought to me, our food was over salted, orders were taken wrong, ie I don’t eat meat and it came out with meat, we had a 7:00 PM reservation with another place to be by 10:00 and we finally got our bill at 0:45. We were literally the only table inside being used, bar and outdoor were full so our customer service experience was a zero!
