The House Brasserie
Super loud food ok
This was our first time there and it did not disappointment. The atmosphere in a converted Craftman home was vibrant and the service enthusiastic. The menu was diverse and quite creative but not over the top. We both had seafood which was excellently prepared. The quality of the wine list matched everything else. Definitely looking forward to our next visit.
First visit to this restaurant and had a remarkable experience. The cuisine is world class and the staff is extremely professional. The service would have been 5-Stars if seated right away. The restaurant was empty, save for 2 tables, and the bartender could not locate the waiter so he ended up seating us. While our experience started out a bit clumsy, the attention to detail with food and service after, more than made up for the clumsy start. This is a new favorite of ours and cannot wait to introduce it to friends and family.
Had a great time, Tommy made sure we where happy, highly recommended
This place is outstanding! Service is very good and the food is to die for.
We split the house salad, filet mignon and broccolini, all were spectacular!
The speciality cocktails were really good. All wines were available by the glass or bottle although a bit pricey about 3 to 4 times retail. Glad we discovered The House! We will be back.
Great food and atmosphere. Service a little slower than we’ve had in the past as there was not much of a crowd. Pork chop is superb and great rye old fashioned preceded. Dreading tourist season and return of the hoards to downtown Scottsdale.
It was almost a perfect dining experience except for the male server that was at the table beside us, his vulgarity was nasty dropping the “F” word every other word.
Could be my reason for not returning.
Great food, great service, great restaurant. It was a very pleasurable experience. I am definitely returning
The House Brasserie is a beautiful establishment and Tommy delivered an exceptional experience, as did the rest of the staff. I love that they started off by sharing the history of the house as it really added to the ambiance. The location is wonderful, the food is amazing, and the staff is top-notch. I will 100% come back the next time I am in Scottsdale!
Excellent food, service and ambiance!! It was a delightful experience with family!
Server very efficient and personable - food excellent
Will come back soon
It was off-season for this lovely little gem of a restaurant in old Scottsdale, so we one of very few tables being served that evening. Everything was impeccable: greeting, food, service, ambience. Our beef and duck entrees were delicious, as were the other courses. Fresh ingredients and lovely presentations. So interesting that the restaurant was once a Sears Roebuck home. Charming decor and beautiful patio, though we ate indoors. I would highly recommend experiencing a meal here!
Yes for a special occasion as it is expensive.
My boyfriend and I went here for my birthday for the first time ever. Although we were comparing it to ocean 44, house of tricks, and other fine dinning restaurants, we found this did not compare to the others. The servers seemed brain washed. Every line was perfected to the point where if they meSsed up they criticized themselves. We didn’t feel like we were able to connect or feel welcomed due to them being so uptight.
Aside from the service, the food was way too salty. Too salt to the point where we couldn’t even enjoy or finish it. They did accommodate birthday dessert but at this point we didn’t couldn’t enjoy it because of how uncomfortable the service and salty the food was. Overall, I give it a 3/5 stars because the restaurant had potential. The environment was cute, relaxing and fun! For the price of this fine dinning restaurant, I would rather spend my money and time else where.
Great all around. Service was excellent. Loved the crab fried rice, shishito peppers, salmon, mango mousse. Delicious cocktails. Nice atmosphere.
Both the Service and food were very good. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will return in the near future.
Such a delight to sit outside and enjoy fantastic food and wine... we felt as though we were in Carmel, CA instead of Scottsdale.
The food is wonderful, the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient - i would highly recommend.
beautiful outside dining with a great menu selection
Before the ballet
This is a lovely location tucked away on Main Street giving the spot a great intimate nature to enjoy your dining experience. The food was amazing and the service was prompt, friendly and professional.
This is a charming and romantic find in the middle of downtown Scottsdale! It has mastered all the critical details you’d expect in a fine dining experience.
My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary. Service was great, if not a bit slow in the beginning. We ordered the steak tartare as a starter and loved the flavors. The fries were also perfectly crunchy and salty! My boyfriend ordered the strip steak and I had the halibut. Overall we both enjoyed our meal. I especially enjoyed finishing the meal with limoncello - perfectly sweet.
What a hidden GEM! Made my trip to Scottsdale exceptional!
We dined here to celebrate our anniversary. Using OpenTable, we noted that we wanted outdoor seating and it was a special occasion. Upon arrival, even after pulling up our reservation, we were asked if we wanted to sit outside and throughout the evening there was no mention of our special occasion.
Our server was lovely and well paced. Regardless, runners were too quick to deliver our main course (we were still enjoying the first course) and asked if they could take that plate and were we "still working on that".... Why do they use the word "working" - enjoying is a quick and more pleasing fix. Server apologized for the misstep by the kitchen of pushing out the entree too quickly.
The only other odd thing was the by the glass selection of wine - kind of mundane.
The cuisine was excellent. We loved the lobster gnocchi. The scallops were perfectly prepared and the cauliflower on that plate was amazing. Husband loved the duck sausage pappardelle.
Overall, an excellent evening, we will be back.
Had a lovely table in back where it was more quietly. Great meal
love dining outdoors on the patio. It was a busy nite with several large groups outside, so service toward the end of the evening was a bit slow, but not a problem. The amuse bouche was yummy and our shared appetizers of tartare and tri-lettuce caesar were a great way to begin. Hubby had the pasta with duck sausage, which he wiped out; I had the chicken, which was good, but not spectacular - nice crispy crust, but just not all that flavorful. The flourless chocolate tart for dessert was excellent.
The ambiance was by far the most outstanding part of the evening at House. Immediately upon Seating the wine list was off-putting with its crazy prices! The GLASS of Domaine Louis Jadot Burgundy on my menu was $130 and on my friends menu was $95. Needless to say, it was hard to find a nice glass of wine. The food was delicious. Buttermilk fried chicken and ribeye.
Service was decent. We were charged for the extra Blue Cheese olives in our Martini!
Fantastic fried chicken
Beautiful selection of wine
Romantic and attractive restaurant
Service and food has gone downhill since last year. Disappointing
Pistachio crusted scallops were amazing. Outdoor patio dining and lighting created a romantic ambiance. The bartender is quite a mixologist. The drinks were fun. Wonderful evening.
Not what it used to be. Has the ownership changed?
Will not return.
We waited over 1.5 hrs for entree, they offered to move us before a large party was seated and we didn't think it would be necessary but the party of 11 we're Very loud and rude..they we're obviously more interested in seating a large party at 9:30 than getting our entree out..finally at 9:45 our dinner came out nearly 2 hrs after we were seated. I wouldn't rush back!!
I have never heard so much loud cussing coming from obviously drunk diners in my life. Tables to my left and right. The food was good, service real slow so wait staff brought us complimentary champagne which contributed to the over serving of the moron to my left. Not going back as we have dined there in the past many times and never had an issue. Sad.
This restaurant is perfect for dining outside. It has a quaint ambiance with large trees in the patio area. The service is great and the food is wonderful, highly recommend.
The atmosphere was nice, although the food was probably not worth the price.
The food was good but the portions are very small and the prices were exorbitant for the amount of food. Ambience was nice. But I would not dine here again . The meal was $200 for 2 people Which is crazy for Scottsdale
We absolutely loved everything about our evening at the House!!!
One of the best patio restaurants in Phoenix!
Lovely dining experience. Excellent dinner and excellent service from Tommy who was very knowledgeable of wine and the dinner menu.
