The Hourly Oyster House
Delicious food and drinks. Pricing is spot on for all.
Food is really good and great place to dine. The only little thing is that the Paella... is no Paella and shouldn’t be called that. It’s a risotto, a far cry from a real paella. The risotto was fantastic, but it was no paella and thus disappointed because you don’t decide to have paella on a whim and your mind is made up for the real deal
This restaurant was recommended by a friend for our Anniversary. We gave it a try and was not disappointed. We had a great time in a very fun environment.
My favorite restaurant in Harvard Square. Classy, great food, and not too noisy.
All of the seafood was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. The seafood half tower was beautifully arranged and every item was amazing, making it a wonderful choice. The charred octopus presentation was stunning and the combination of flavors and textures was delightful.
Pan roasted chili lobster is especially good. Salted brenzini is very good as well.
Some difficulty encountered at the outset. We had a reservation through Opentable for regular seating and the Maitr D had some difficulty seating us until we requested the attention of the 'boss'.
Food good - but very loud. It might be because elderly people are more sensitive to the noise!!
Excellent find. The oysters were excellent as was other food items. Wait staff extremely attentive and efficient. I would return.
The atmosphere is lovely, the service was exceptional and the menu appetizing. I so wanted to like this place. But we all left feeling unwell, because the fried food (French fries, calamari, chicken tenders) was so greasy and it tasted as if the fryer oil hadn't been replenish all weekend (it was Sunday at 7pm). The fries had that dirty greasy taste. We had other things that were good, even delicious, - kids hamburger, chowder, raw oysters and Ceasar Salad. But even taking a few bites here and there of the fried food that we shared made us all feel sick. Even the grilled oysters, which weren't fried, were overcooked. I hope we caught them on a bad night.
The ambiance, food, and service was great except we waited an hour for our food. There seemed to only be 2 waiters on the floor and many clients.
It appears the raw oysters are the best choice. We didn't order any, but nearly everyone around us did. Our food was fair.
Limited menu but outstanding food. The raw bar was especially good (don't miss the Prince Edward Island oysters!). Extensive wine list with good and well-priced selection from around the globe. Service was a little erratic at first, but we were there in very early evening with overstretched server. The waitstaff quickly grew to meet the demand. Great ambience, low noise level, even when the place became busier.
Excellent everything! Servers were all great 💗! Will definitely be back when in the area.
Food was great. Waiter tried a little, but that's better than the opposite.
Also, they had good and unusual wines
We stumbled across this Restaurant and are
glad we did. The decor and ambience are spot on and the service was excellent. We had tuna poke and crab cakes to start which were delicious. The halibut main was delicate and flavour full and the decadent chocolate mousse was wonderful. Well worth a visit
Delicious dinner! Our waitress was able to convince the chef to let me have the salmon with the accompaniments from the scallops entree. Very much appreciated. My husband's lobster roll was excellent.
The music was pretty bad, and the two young women next to us had piercing voices, so that was a negative which couldn’t be helped. All in all, a pleasure to be there.
Outstanding! Elizabeth provided fantastic service service!
The hamburger was amazing!
Raw bar was excellent - I loved that they gave you a written description of each oyster. Calamari is also worth ordering!
Loved the option that gave our party 2 of each of the day's oyster...SO yummy and liked the mignonette, too. I was a bit surprised that my panfried chicken did not have a crust but the chicken thighs were juicy and tasty and the spinach was a great part of the dish. I would definitely go again :)
The food at Hourly was delicious. The portions could have been bigger. The noise level made it difficult for our party of 5 to converse on a high top table.
Absolutely love this restaurant! The calamari is my favorite thing on the menu.
The lobster roll and scallops were excellent. I tried the chocolate mousse for the first time and by far it was the best I’ve had. The complimentary chips were also an excellent added bonus.
We LOVED it! Wonderful meal in Cambridge. Everything was top-notch. Highly recommend.
Incredible experience, drinks where brought to us very quick. Oysters where fresh and tasted amazing. 10/10 will recommend to a friend!
Best food! The oysters are amazing!
Disappointing. Have eaten many times before satisfactorily. but this time food was substandard. Halibut was dry overcooked and inedible. Caesar salad dressing a big glop. Sliders just ok. Poke was just ok. Service good. .
Service was excellent and food was great. I’m looking forward to going back again!
Loved the historical ambiance. Service was great. I tried bronzini and it was SO delicious! Oysters are amazing. My only gripe is that they load the drinks with ice - stick to beer and wine.
Loved the food, waiter, service, value, but it was noisy.
Very attentive service. Excellent burger and of course great oysters. Beer selections could either be broader or rotate more. Overall, a fine place.
Wonderful location in the heart of harvard square!
Beautiful restaurant in a great location but the staff was inexperienced and we received apps and entrees simultaneously. Oysters were delicious and rest of the food was good though one person who was a vegetarian had little to choose from. They need to get mature and knowledgeable waitstaff to make this place feel like the bustling brasserie that it could be.
Great creative and delicious food. Great service. Great value. Highly recommend.
We went with our son and had a great meal. Loved the oysters, fresh and cold. The lobster roll was amazing as well as the seared scallops. From the outside the place looks more “white table cloth” fancy but inside is more relaxed, almost like an upscale sports bar. Food and service outstanding. We would definitely go back.
We enjoyed our dinner. The service and food quality were top notch. We had a nice meal and didn't have to shout.
Great lobster rolls and a nice selection of wines. Make sure to ask for the home made potato chips.
After giving the tip, the waiter didn’t see and tell me Thank you
Friendly, not pretentious place with a diligent staff and great food. It's a place you could walk into in a business or casual attire and still feel comfortable. Great oysters, as you might expect, at typical prices. Seafood is not an inexpensive meal, but this place seems pleased to serve. Staff work cooperatively so that multiple people are taking orders, serving, refilling, etc. That part of the operation is seamless, which is not always true at other restaurants. As my daughter is just starting her undergrad work in Boston, I anticipate coming back many times.
The return of the chilled corn soup with crab was worth the wait -- it is the perfect combo of summer and seafood in a bowl! I recommend having more than one while it lasts (currently part of Dine Out Boston menu). Still hopeful however it will make an encore before summer ends. The debut of the chocolate cheesecake with toast pistachios and salted caramel was equally exciting -- the texture and taste were sublime and hit the spot as a finale to a great meal. Both should be cast as regular players on the menu!
