Outstanding service and food. The crab cake and brick chicken were off the charts. Service was the best. Celebrated my wife’s birthday. Will be back!

Excellent service and food. I think the $16 surcharge for adding 3 scallops to the salad is a bit excessive.

Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the food. She made great recommendations. The seafood was very fresh and everything was well-seasoned. We especially loved the halibut ceviche

It was Valentines Day and they had a special menu. Very good choices. We started with the fries.....oh my, delish. We had to order another this time the Furikake Fries. Equally delish. I had the Pear & Burrata salad, amazing. My hubby had the Clam Chowder. He claims its the BEST he has ever had! His main coursed was the 12oz.New York Strip with Scallops. Equally just as delish as everything else. He said it is our new go to when we visit from Palm Springs.

I had the Valentines special with lamb chops that were exceptional and my husband had the pork belly pasta which he loved. The banana custard dessert was the perfect balance of sweet and savory from the meringue to the graham cracker crust. It was a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and Valentines Day.

Always a great meal! Grand reopening again during Covid. We've come here weekly when closed and do grateful restaurants are back. Food, service, staff always excellent! Tables spaced apart. Servers in masks and shields.. We felt comfortable

Austin was our waitress and she was great! Her menu knowledge was outstanding, perfect selections for beers, appetizers and entrees! The outdoor dining was perfectly spaced and comfortable. Thank you for a great evening.

Not happy: Showed up for my reservation early. Two 4-tops empty when I arrived. Teenager seating people said those were only for 4 people. Fine. 10 min later she takes us to a 2-top. But we’re a reservation of 3? Oops she made a mistake. We’ll have to wait for one of the 3-tops ....they’re all taken.. fine. Only 4 total (2 of them are actually back by the bar so not really outdoor dining? which I had requested, plus that’s supposedly mandated for Covid so I’m confused by that arrangement.) still waiting. she seats a party at the 4-top. Still 1 of those left empty. Now I’m at 20-25 min wait with a reservation!! Then she seats a party of 3 at the remaining 4-top!! What?! I ask and she says their reservation was for 4 but 1 didn’t show! So it’s ok to seat 3 people at the 4-top because they reserved for 4!!! 😤The manager type shows up and gives me the “we’re doing everything we can under the circumstances...” routine. Really ? They have about the same number of tables except they’re outside. Now they don’t know how to seat people? It’s Just sheer unprofessionalism!! I’ve been a good customer for years since the 1st days when they would often be empty. I always left 20%+ tip. when I complained about all this rigamarole I got the “you don’t have to eat here” response! Wow! NO effort to make things right with the customer as any good restaurant would have done. So we left and won’t be back. I’m telling all my hb and mb friends. so far no one’s impressed with their actions. Btw Don’t book a 3person table ... book for 4 then just show up with 3 so you won’t wait while others are being seated at the 4-tops AND you won’t get stuck at the indoor “outside” tables, which are basically inside by bar. It was better when they first opened. Original chef left?? It now seems overpriced except for happy hour. Best bet: go for happy hour and eat dinner elsewhere. Plenty of great choices in the area with a more considerate, professional staff, and better pricing. No thx!

Nice atmosphere and good service but the food is overall very bland. The only thing that was outstanding was the New England clam chowder. I think they maybe just need to season their food.

This was our first visit to Hook and Plow since they built the expanded outdoor seating area. The ambiance was nice, with the tables spaced a comfortable distance apart (thanks). Our waitstaff was attentive and helpful navigating the menu and accommodating my food allergies. We were pleasantly surprised with the Kale & Quinoa salad to start (large enough to share), my wife ordered the hamburger, I ordered the hangar steak. She was happy with the hamburger, I thought the hangar steak was perfect at medium rare, and enjoyed the couscous and grilled veggies on the plate. Overall, a great dining experience.

So very disappointing as we've been fans and diners at H&P since 2014 when we moved to the South Bay. The new menu items are a disappointment as well as the removal of long standing favorites. Even our food server seemed less enthusiastic about new menu items and changes. H&P has been a family go-to, but sadly it has been disappointed our last few visits since August. This past weekend was par for the recent course. :(

Excellent service. Very nice. They need heat lamps now that we are in October. More options for vegetarians would be great. They need an additional steak option (fillet or ribeye) on the menu.

First time dining here. Really enjoyed the food, and happy to see them doing good business with their patio. However, this will be a nicer place to visit once Calif ends this idiotic outdoor only dining, because the interior looked very inviting.

Nice having the outdoor seating, hope we can keep it for a few more months!! Service was great , if I could give more than 5 stars I would. The food was a bit off this time, kind of a bummer. I had the Sea bass “off the hook”, way to much oil .

The waiter kept commenting on how the food was disappearing from my plate. He took away my plate before my companion was finished eating. He neglected to inform me that there would be an up charge for substituting vegetables and then apologized. Sitting outside next to the street subjected us to loud motorcycles. The food was good, but over salted.

The lamb risotto was fantastic! Open patio seating had plenty of space.
