We were visiting Charleston for the first time. Service was very good, but due to staffing issues food from the kitchen took a really long time to come out. Everything we had was delicious and light. This place will be great again once staffing is worked out! Will come back again when we return!

This warm lighted piece of heaven was amazing. The savory tomato pie is perfect for a light snack. My chocolate martini was amazingly smooth. The signature Kinsey cake was beyond what I was expecting. It was delicate and delicious. The sign in book was a great touch. Our waitress was friendly and on top of our needs. Before I forget I loved the free little muffins that were sent out. What a way to end my birthday.

Wow, wow, WOW! Camilla's has been our 'go to' downtown dessert place for years, but, WOW did that change last night! Our first of what will be many years coming to the Honey Hive! Love the ambiance (music could be turned down just a notch) but service was incredible and the drinks and desserts unmatched in Charleston! Can't wait to go back!

Positive: Beautifully plated food and Wednesday's 50% off bottles. Now for the disappointment - underwhelming flavors, over-priced in all aspects of the food items and one of the noisiest dining experiences, ever. Despite a nearly empty restaurant, the hostess sat a group right next to our table and the table's waitress was SO LOUD! Our entire dining experience was miserable after the seating. We ordered 4 dishes and 1 dessert before the seating. I am sad to relay that not one dish was worthy of the price tag. We were so anxious to leave because of the loud table/server and boring food, we actually left hungry ($140 later) and went across the street for a slice of pizza. Crazy.

Worst dining experience in Charleston. First, despite having made reservations for my Bachelorette party several months ahead, we were sat at the first table by the entrance door, which is probably the least aesthetic dining space in this restaurant and right by entrance. nothing was said about the special occasion, not one word of congratulations were made by the hostess or the server. Ok i thought maybe they are stressed (not sure why since our reservation was right when they open, so its not like anything else had been going on prior to us coming in) Then it took about 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive (despite there only being 3 other tables sat at that time). These drinks were a disaster: the coffee foam had melted into the coffee and the cappuccino had spilt all over the saucer.. the server just dumped these on the table, we handed them out to whoever ordered the drink...and they looked so ugly. What was so sad, was one of my girlfriend's is pregnant and can only have one cup of coffee a day, she was so excited for her cappuccino it completed disappointed. The cocktails also arrived all spilt looking without any of the pretty designs that I had seen in the pictures. It looked like our drinks had just sat waiting to be delivered for 20 minutes. Third, it took 1.5 hours for our food to be delivered. When it arrived the waffles (from the chicken and waffles) were BURNT, yes 100% burnt (completely black)?? And then eggs were all cold. Again no care was made into the food or how it was delivered. At this point we just asked for our check and wanted to leave and get the heck out of this crap place. Seriously for the prices and marketing we had high expectations, and I can honestly say that there was absolutely nothing about our experience here that was pleasant. We went to so many other cute brunch spots and would recommend you go anywhere else other than this crapy place.

It was fine. I wouldn’t seek it out. Desserts were fine but not better than other places. Went for my daughter’s birthday but not as good as we expected. Service was very good but just didn’t feel worth the cost etc.

My husband and I came to the honey hive for dessert for our anniversary. It was divine. The attention to detail in the decor made the atmosphere absolutely dreamy. The wait staff were all so kind and professional. The food was exquisite. My husband got the peanut butter crème brûlée and I enjoyed the coconut Samoa. I would highly recommend coming to the honey hive any time you are in Charleston and hope to come back soon!

The Honey Hive has only been open 6 months but I have to say WOW. I picked this for my daughter's Mother's Day celebration and it was perfect. Each part of the experience is so well thought out - form the decor, to the menu, to the service, it all works together to create such a nice experience. The food is incredible. On Mother's Day they had a special brunch menu that included chickens and waffles and banana bread pancakes. We had both and they were out of this world. I want to go back and try some of the other dishes. However, the ultimate dish for me was the peanut butter creme brûlée. It was incredible. Rich peanut butter taste, and a perfect texture. It was topped with a blackberry jam that was a perfect addition. The cocktails were delicious and beautiful. Each served in a beautiful glass, vibrant colors, and creative mixology. Finally the service. Attentive but not obtrusive. The dishes arrived promptly, beautifully arranged, and our waiter was there to check on us and to see what we needed soon after. I can see this as a great date night, cocktail, or light dinner before or after the an evening out. There is paid parking just across the street so don't worry about having to park and walk a long distance.

The peanut butter cremé brulee was amazing! The cannoli's were unfortunately something that we wanted to like and didn't at all. The after taste from them stayed with us just from one bite each for quite a while. We will be back though for more of the cremé bruleé.
