The Holy Pundit
we visited just before lockdown 2, the food was amazing the staff were very attentive, will definitely be visiting again
Great food, but reduced vegetarian menu due to Clovid, this wasn’t advised before dining on website. As one of us is veggie, so little put out. But what we had was good. Quite expensive, but get what you pay for
Menu is not extensive but food excellent. Attentive service.
Excellent food, friendly staff and tables perfectly spaced
A very good curry. I enjoyed my Lamb Rogan Josh and my wife enjoyed Katte Began as a main course. Saag paneer as a side dish was the best of the three dishes. The apricot and ginger naan was a bit odd; not bad but we wouldn’t order again. The plain roti was good. Good service, little atmosphere - COVID!
Service was slow, the chicken dish we had was average, the lamb was delicious and excellent puddings
Was charged for a dish that was horrible in taste & refused to give a refund.
Great service and delicious food as always. Thoroughly recommend
Second meal here and as lovely as the first.
Great food and lovely staff
Excellent food, delicious appetisers delivered 'on the house'. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent before COVID and still brilliant now. Give it a go for great Indian cuisine.
Our meal was amazing, we could not fault any part of the evening. Giving the food five stars wasn't enough, it was just perfect
The food was good quality and very flavoursome. Service was good. The decor is uninspired and needs a refresh.
Overall enjoyed the experience.
The chicken curries we had were amazing, so tender and tasty. My only criticism is that the popadaum were shop bought (small pieces)and there was no mint sauce in the pickle tray. Its nicely decorated, very ambient, service from staff was brilliant. I would definitely eat here again.
The food and service was good. However the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was a bit 60s hippy. Unfortunately there was a very drunk guest who was a distraction. The staff however dealt with her incredibly well , calm and polite.
We booked on a Thursday night. Waitress was lovely and welcoming. Added bonus we got a delicious Mini starter compliments from the chef. I highly recommend the duck as a starter, I had the lamb for main which was delicious and melt in your mouth!
I highly recommend this restaurant for delicious food, great service and ambience xx
Brilliant , food was amazing , good mix of local produce and Indian dishes , looked after very well , great place to eat
Fab meal as usual . Had the monkfish curry - it was absolutely delicious. Love this place - it’s our daughters fav so it’s a must every time she’s home
Had the perfect evening for my partners birthday, food was amazing and staff outstanding service, highly recommend
Authentic and the menu is a bit different from the standard "all the same" take aways.
Wonderful food, excellent service. There were three sets of couples including ourselves in that part of the restaurant and we were all given complimentary tasters courtesy of the Chef - delicious little pastries called Vegetable Mo Mo's. At the end of the evening our server gave my husband and I a glass of Prosecco each as it was our wedding anniversary which she remembered from the conversation at beginning, this was also complimentary. This was a lovely attentive gesture and rounded off a lovely meal and visit despite the difficulties and restrictions due to COVID-19. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
The temperature in the restaurant was to high making enjoying our food difficult. The food was bland with a limited menu to choose from. We were over charged on drinks and only noticed by studying the receipt.
Fabulous food, very attentive friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Felt very safe, would definitely recommend.
Food was very nice. Limited menu still had lots of choice but this was not reflected on the open table website. Ambience could be more cultural i.e. indian music to add to the lovely atmosphere.
Delicious food, excellent service & staff very friendly & helpful
The food was amazing! It was like eating home cooked food!
We waited a very long time for our food to arrive - however, it was 100% worth the wait! Incredible food, thank you very much.
Excellent experience all round, food and service was amazing.
Excellent service, good choice on the menu and well prepared and tasty food.
Excellent food, indian cuisine with a real difference. Had a superb meal there. Staff were very helpful.
Great food that was very reasonably priced. Wine was of decent quality and not over expensive
The whole eating experience was superb, with polite and friendly staff. The food was outstanding and as we were hoping different to standard Indian restaurants, with more emphasis on spices.
A truly lovely restaurant with friendly staff, lovely setting and wonderful food. We have visited this restaurant a number of times now and have never been disappointed. We look forward to our next visit.
A very nice place to eat, great food and great service, can't wait to go again.
Excellent service and atmosphere. We had complimentary courses of new dishes which was lovely. Food was perfect, highly recommend
Really enjoyed it. Good food, good service and good ambiance. Not the cheapest so maybe somewhere for a special occasion. But I would recommend it if you like good Indian food.
Whenever we visit Hythe we always make sure we book a table at the Holy Pundit. As always it doesn’t disappoint. The food is excellent, flavours never over power but very good. Next time we visit Hythe we are sure to book our favourite restaurant
First and foremost, the food here is good. Well cooked, tasty and nicely spiced - it’s not just creamy or hot - the flavours develop as you eat. However, the first thing you typically eat when you go to an Indian restaurant are poppadoms and these were obviously out of a packet, which is always a bit disappointing.
Some of the food was oddly presented in mini shopping trolleys and baskets, but that was more quirky than anything. The service was attentive without being over the top and the pricing was fair for the quality of food.
Amazing lamb kebab starter, the ginger and apricot naan was more like a chapati but tasty; all the food seemed to be cooked using very fresh ingredients, totally different from my local curry house which is good but most things come in a tomato based sauce
Have been to The Holy Pundit a couple of time and it does not disappoint.
