A house made sorbet is served before the main entrée. The weekly entree is served complete with accompanying vegetables. Dessert arrives, along with a list of after dinner drinks and liqueurs.

Amazing service, presentation, and, of course, food and drink! It is a bit pricey, but we knew what we were getting into.
The absolute best dining experience I have ever had.
Perfect night and dinner. We are planning another night.
What a wonderful place to enjoy your company and have a 5 star dinner experience. The food was impeccably beautiful and all was delicious!
I have never had a $130 bottle of wine poured with out being asked to taste.
$8.95 adder for halibut main course is insane. Fish was mushy and tasteless.
Overall suffering from inexperienced staff.
Wine cellar very thin on popular vintages.
Dining at The Hobbit is truly an "experience". We arrived early (6:00 p.m.) to tour the wine cellar and have cocktails. Dinner service began promptly at 7:00 p.m. and lasted until almost 11:00 p.m. Each of the food courses were well presented and delicious. We did the wine pairing with the dinner, which I highly recommend as the sommelier was very knowledgeable and happy to discuss each of the wine selections. Highly recommend The Hobbit for a really enjoyable fine dining experience.
It was more than worth the wait down in the food were impeccable
We made reservations based on friends telling us of their experience dining there. We got there and everything was changed about the experience, because of what they say is covid. Which when we made the reservation was not told to us. You are to arrive and be led to the upstairs for cocktails, then later to the main dining area for your meal and later to the wine cellar for dessert, all of which did not happen. The time spent there and the money for the meal is not worth it.
This was, by far, the most luxurious dining experience that I have had in my life, and it was perfect for celebrating my Ph.D -- which my family considers to be a major life achievement. Our guests had an exceptional evening, and even days later, they are still talking about how wonderful their experience was! The food was delicious, wine pairings were perfect, and service was phenomenal!
Because this is an upscale restaurant that is intended only for very special occasions, it's going to be quite expensive, but it the high price is fair for the experience we get.
The atmosphere, service and food were the best. We will definitely be back and enjoyed our experience immensely.
Amazing atmosphere, 5 course meal, service. Simply spectacular
Started out great but as the night went on the service went down, down to hem where are they :(
The atmosphere and menu were perfect. They happily accommodated for food restrictions and the service staff was warm, friendly, and available for questions.
Amazing food and the Som Matt was great! Amazing evening thanks
Excellent as always. Only complaint was table next to us was extremely loud. But this was not the restaurant’s fault.
Beautiful place to go for a special dinner! I’ve been there 20 years ago and absolutely loved it and had great memories. I was a bit disappointed in the service this time however. Staff seemed stretched and it was quite obvious that unless you ordered the wine pairing you were not paid much attention to. Food was good but nothing really that was outstanding.
Outstanding evening which is what we come to expect from our previous visits to the Hobbit. They have made appropriate adjustments to make the entire experience a joy while showing the proper respect for the current Covid situation. Dinner and service superb. We were celebrating our anniversary and our son’s anniversary. Highly recommend to everyone.
The Hobbit Restaurant has great food, but that's not just the reason that you're there. This was the opportunity for my wife and I to dress up, have the kids at the sitter, and enjoy a long dinner evening uninterrupted. No phones, just conversation with us, our friends, and other diners who share in the same escape. We'd chat about how tailor-made each dish was and try to deconstruct it. A few hours of respite, before going back into the real world. And the Hobbit allows us to do this twice a year. Thank you Hobbit Restaurant.
The overall experience was very enjoyable. The champagne and wine pairing was wonderful and we loved learning about wine from Matt. The food was acceptable but not outstanding.
The Hobbit is an experience, not just a restaurant. Unfortunately, due to Covid, the experience isn’t what it used to be. The great food and service is still very much enjoyed. But the uniqueness of the Champagne and horderves in the winw cellar is no longer possible. This changes things. I really hope they bring that back soon.
Service was great, food was mediocre, ambiance was nice but a little outdated (example: dining area was beautifully kept up but the bathrooms were damaged and disappointing). Definitely overpriced ($200 if you don’t drink -$400+ if you do) for the overall experience rating as a C+ / B-. If it’s somewhere you’ve been dying to try, I’d say a nice experience to enjoy once, but have no interest in returning.
Everything was wonderful. They know how to make an evening special.
Amazing! Everything was so beautifully presented and delicious. We celebrated our youngest daughter’s 30 birthday with dinner at her choice of restaurants. The Hobbit is such a lovely dinning experience, very special.
The Hobbit was a bucket list destination for my foodie wife. She said it was the best dining experience she has ever had, so that was good enough for me. The food, the wine selection and the general ambiance were all a delight.
As always, one of my favorite restaurants to go to for special occasions. I will definately keep going.
It was fantastic! We had a great dinner but it was expensive.
Hobbit has been here for a quite awhile. It's a great place to come and get spoiled. One of the complaint would be their sign outside the restaurant where it is hard for people to notice especially at night. This place is not for someone who finishes their meal in 20 minutes. Our last outing took lil more than 3hours. Their quality of meal is very good and servers are great and will explain nicely if you have questions and also accommodate what ever your needs are. One time we had friends who doesn't drink any alcoholic beverages and they gave us sparkling cider and they were very happy. One down side is when you come menu is limited since it is set course so my wife always look for that first. Hors d'oeuvre are large in quantity and very good. So are the appetizers. Of course main is always good until demand coffee. Usually nothing to complain about.
Sadly the experience has changed, but they did a great job trying to accommodate the new requirements, which are not in their control. Quaint, quiet atmosphere that is great for a nice date night or special occasion - not suitable for kids. Food was just "ok" flavor-wise, but this place is all about the full experience so I still suggest giving it a try. Incredible wine selection...
The meal was delicious. The wine pairing was perfect. Alexander was fantastic.
The best restaurant in Orange County CA. Everything from the moment you enter is perfection. The staff could not be more kind and professional. This is a must eat experience.
We decided to celebrate some special occasions at our favorite "special occasion" restaurant. Although dining here during the pandemic is different than before, the food, service and ambience are still amazing! We missed not being able to enjoy appetizers in the cellar and to peek into the kitchen during intermission but the staff's friendly interactions with us more than made up for the lack of the ability to roam. We also appreciated the served appetizers! We found that we sampled more than we usually do in the cellar and found more favorites other than the puff pastry, salami, cheese one! We look forward to our next special occasion when things maybe go back to a bit more normal but would highly recommend this unique dining experience!
First time here but won't be our last. This place is perfect for anyone that wants to just have a relaxing dinner and a conversation. Intimate, quiet and just all around an amazing experience. Food was awesome, if your like me and can never make up your mind about what you want to eat the pre fix menu is the best i didn't have to sit there looking over a 3 page menu. Perfect place for an anniversary, birthday, meeting or date night. I would/will definitely recommend this place to everyone.
A wonderful experience in every way. The food was outstanding and the service was the best I’ve ever had.
Every bite you take the flavors pop in your mouth and pallets. one of the best places to go if you really enjoy GREAT food.
It was a wonderful evening. Great food and courteous service. It was the first time for two of the party of 3, and they are already talking about going back!
The food was amazing. The service was hand down the best.
Man this place is awesome. One of the best sommeliers I’ve met. So friendly and truly an unforgettable experience.
I enjoyed it.
Excellent service! Attentive and gracious. Went through the courses and remembered to even bring out the special dessert for my boyfriend’s birthday. Would definitely come back !
