Our food is Contemporary Continental; a reference to its encompassing many world cuisines. 7:00 begins the Champagne and Hors d'oeuvres course, in our wine cellar. Sommeliers and wait staff will be there to help you choose wine for your dinner, with over 1,000 labels to choose from! You will be served a Seafood first course then a fowl or light meat. A house made sorbet is served before the main entrée. The weekly entree is served complete with accompanying vegetables. Dessert arrives, along with a list of after dinner drinks and liqueurs.

This is my husbands and I second time going to The Hobbit and this time we brought our Dad to celebrate his birthday. They absolutely loved the experience and the food, wine tastings, and dining experience was amazing with new foods and wines to try! We can’t wait to come back!

A must try at least once. Great date night , the service was Amazing and the whole experience was a must. The food was good , great for ORANGE. I've been spoiled with out the country fine dining experiences so not great but overall loved it. With an expensive bottle of wine dinner can be pricey however without very nice. We probably wont be back as far as the 2 of us however special occasion yes. Thinking of hosting my company holiday dinner here :)

The Hobbit never disappoints. The appetizers and champagne in the seller were so amazing as the flavors were off the charts. The multiple courses were delicious as were the drinks. Dessert was kind of a disappointment as it was basically banana bread in a cup. But by then, it really didn't matter...lol..we were feeling fine due to having a different wine with each course. The staff were all so professional and very knowledgable of the wines. Note:It is not an everyday occasion to visit the Hobbit as our bill was over $1000 for 4 and Uber is a must. But a fabulous time with good friends.

The atmosphere and service were enjoyable. The cellar section, where the hors d'oeuvres were served, was exceptional. However, the starters and main course on the ground floor were a complete disappointment. The food was far from satisfying, especially considering the amount of money spent. The service during the meal in the main restaurant was excellent, while the service in the cellar was decent. Overall, I would not consider returning to this place. I had anticipated a much better culinary experience.

An unexpected experience with no expectations. A warm welcome with an introduction to 3 adventures: upstairs to start a delicious cocktail, then the basement for wonderful bubbles/hors d’oeuvre’s and dinner in the main area with deliciously, mindful plates. Thoughtful hospitality met with a curated journey. More education around the basement would be a nice touch and the price point slightly elevated.

This was my second time dining at the Hobbit. It was equally impressive and wonderful. My son first took me here 3 years ago, and I took my niece for her first "dining experience". This time, rather than choosing a wine from the cellar, we opted for the "wine paring" with each course (act), and it was so wonderful when Alex told us all about the wine we enjoyed. His knowledge and personality were delightful. Matthew was wonderful to take the time to come over and share his knowledge with us as his conversation was very fun as well. The menu never disappoints, and I will be returning again with another family member to share priceless memories and conversation. The champangne and hors d'oeuvres in the wine cellar is always SO MUCH FUN!! I try wonderful tasting food that is a party on my palette that I would never think to try and is simply THE BEST! A perfect night out and well worth it in every way!! Thank you! Diana

We dined here June 2023 and it was my first time here. I was unfortunately underwhelmed by both the quality of the food and the overall experience, especially considering the expensive price tag $124 pp + $65 wine pairing +tax and gratuity. The food, while not terrible, was nothing to rave about, and was certainly mediocre and failed to live up to the high expectations set by its reputation and reviews. There was an excessive amount of wasted time between dishes, honestly 4 hours is TOO long for any dinner without any services during that down time. Given the restaurant's reputation and the premium prices, I expected a more seamless and engaging dining experience. One thing they had going for them was their service. The wait staff was phenomenal, everyone was great and attentive and knowledgeable about the different wines being offered. Unfortunately, with so many other great options in Orange County, The Hobbit just doesn't cut it. The whole experience felt dated and definitely needs a revamping. If you're looking for a dining experience with phenomenal food, try TRUST in Santa Ana. It's a flat $200-$250 there that includes tax/gratuity/wine pairings with multiple pours.

We had a lovely time at the Hobbit. Service was excellent, food was absolutely delicious and the wine was perfectly paired with each dish. We really loved that we got to take our time and really enjoy each part of the experience. There’s absolutely no rush and it’s fun to mingle and talk with other guests during the whole experience.

Overall, it was a great evening. That’s the reason I came back for a second time. Coming from a fine dining background I have a small amount of constructive criticism. Here are a few items that you may want to consider: For the hors d’oeuvres, the soup in the cup was cold, & did not have very much flavor. If it were tray pasted in small batches to maintain its temperature, that may have helped. And if it were meant to be room temperature, I apologize. For the appetizer, the scallop looked to have had a great sear on it at one time but it too was cold. Possibly having them seared closer to service would have remedied its cold temperature. A warm or hot scallop would have paired exceptionally well with your beet-cashew cream. And the tomato chutney was nowhere near a chutney. Though flavorful, it was halved grape tomatoes with olive oil & herbs on them. Lastly, the Chilean Sea Bass itself was a small portion, especially for being an additional $18 and in comparison to the size of the Beef Wellington entrée that was served. I will, however, end this on a positive note, the Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection. The wine selection was so so good, especially the 2019 Hobbs, dry white. The herb roasted lamb was outstanding, I could’ve eaten that as an entrée. And your blood orange beurre blanc, I could’ve eaten a whole bowl of it with a spoon. I will be back to enjoy your Hobbit Manor for a third time…. Thank you!

Loved this place! I am vegan and they were so kind as to make my dinner and experience completely vegan. We also got the wine pairing to go with the dinner and it was amazing. Will definitely come back for another dinner! The place was sooo cute.
