Good food when it eventually arrived. Very disorganised staff did not deal with customers in order. They did not follow up on more drinks. We left without having a dessert after it taking that long to get a drink and a main course.
Excellent Staff. Can't fault them.
Food is mainly with chips. Items on specials board tend to run out.
Portions are generous. Meat loaf and meat balls a little heavy on herbs but clearly home made.
Food is hot.
Overall this is a local pub with menu and ambience to match. Not for those looking for a restaurant experience.
It suited me well and I went there 3 times in a week.
Really tasty food and the wait staff were really friendly. A little run down inside and the dining area is pretty cramped but the food and friendlyness makes up for it! Food is also decently priced, better value than some other places nearby that didn't have such tasty food.
Quite crowded. Tables in small dining room crammed in.
Really lovely local pub. Great food, kind staff and a good ambience.
Will definitely return here.
Good quality pub fare in a small village pub. Nice outdoor seating area. Plenty of parking and good range of ales.
Very tasty meal, good service friendly staff.
Food ok. Place a bit worn for wear. Toilets (ladies) needs a very good clean.
Nothing special to write home about.
Good value for money Carvery, nice pub, staff attentive and polite if you go there you wont be dissapointed we will be checking out the band nights soon 😁😁
Lovely pub, very nice well cooked food
Very well run
Staff all very attentive and helpful
Can highly recommend
Nice local pub good choice of food just not enough steak for 2 unfortunately
Great food selection. Dogs made very welcome. Staff very friendly
Clean, very good food, plenty of choice, main meal and dessert, food was hot, and very polite staff. Will go again soon
Great service from the staff- food was ok but very greasy.
Excellent food, took us in at the last minute on a holiday weekend and they still delivered an excellent experience despite being busy!
Great little pub with good food and friendly staff
Roast was good, service was bit slow and had run out of most of the desserts so we only stayed for mains.
Brilliant staff, go above and beyond. Food is lovely too.
Great service and good value for money 🙂 staff very friendly and food tasted great.
Great family food
Although busy we had a lovely meal, served by Amy, Bonny and David all were very helpful. They were coping well dispite the delivery drivers being on strike. The food was great, hot, tasty and lots of it.
Absolutely beautiful pub, staff are all lovely husbands food was fantastic mine a little greasy and just not great too much cheese and lasagne white sauce was lumpy.
Huge party sat next to us which was fine but tables are to close it felt like we were eating with them.
Apart from that everything was fine.
Very slow service, we had to ask how to order, food was ok, carvers bit cold, chef plating up our food at one point used his uncovered fingers to put food on the plate, young new waitresses, really had no clue but not their fault, obviously need more training, ordered dessert, meant to be Eaton mess and there was no fruit or meringue, it was like a cake with cream, complained, and we were refunded for the desserts, im afraid I won’t be going back
Food was amazing very hearty and well cooked. It was busy when we arrived but once we were seen to the service was very attentive. Portions are very big so we all left stuffed.
The manager was lovely as were the other staff. He has so many ambitions for the business and we wish him well, the great food quality is a Great basis to build from. If we lived local we would visit regularly.. price was so reasonable. Great little pub and restaurant- highly recommended
Really nice food, nice pub/restaurant. Just avoid the "peppercorn sauce" - half a pint of cream with peppercorns in bottom.
Strange atmosphere in the pub and a long wait for our food. Not sure if it was just an off night.
The food was very good when it arrived.
My husband ordered a margarita pizza which was not handmade and looked like a pizza bought from aldi. There appeared to be some very greasy cheese which had been added and sliced tomato.
It didn't look very nice at all when it arrived. He tried a slice of it and said it was disgusting and left the whole pizza. I had small fish and chips which wasnt too bad. There wasn't a lot of fish inside to be honest.
I wouldn't eat there again.
The interior of the pub was not very nice either
Sorry but the service was shocking, we are local hoteliers and the first rule of thumb is to have decent staff.
The young lad was picking up the pieces for everyone else on front of house.
It's a shame as we won't be back
Arrived Sunday evening, it was very busy.
Only one choice for the carvery, didn’t have any of the bottled lager we wanted nor wine.
Was slightly disappointed but the staff were very good
Great food- the beef lasagna is to die for- so delicious. The service is great and staff very helpful and attentive. Visited twice during our week in Cornwall. Would recommend.
Bad smell, grimy, sticky floor & tables, disgustingly dirty toilets.
The Sunday roast was delicious! Very well cooked and very tasty.
However, quite a few negatives I’m afraid.
The staff appeared attentive however I was shocked when my children’s meals came out, whilst I was at the carvery counter. My son had opened the burger bun, saw cheese on it (which he hates), ate one chip and I then closed the burger… my other son had the complete wrong meal.. I called the waitress over and she apologised for the error and took the food away.. within minutes the meal that had been placed on our table, was served to a table behind us!!! I couldn’t believe it, and without doubt I would no longer return due to the serious hygiene issues with the above. Terrible!
The carvery, fair play, full of flavour and I really enjoyed it.
The carpet was filthy,I appreciate they allow dogs (we had ours with us), but they really need to have a good hoover!
The beef burger that arrived for my son was homemade; but it tasted horrid. Can’t quite describe it, just very bland tasting mince beef with a slight iffy taste…
A real mixed bag but not a chance I’d return!
Food was good the young lad serving use was terrible ask for dessert menu and ordered more drinks none of which turned up after asking twice and 4o minutes later gave up and pay the bill and left would not go back because of this
Very pleasant pub. Good food, pleasant and friendly staff and good value
Staff really friendly, food hot and plenty of it. Really enjoyed our dinner and would return if in area again.
It was Very quiet , so i am just basing my review on the service and food as i don't know what it would be like if busy . The young lady that served us was excellent, she had a good sense of humour and was very efficient at her job . We placed our order for drinks and food , drinks arrived within in a couple of minutes, our meals arrived about twenty minutes later and it was well worth waiting for , my wife had the lasagne with chips and garlic bread and i had the hunters chicken it was lovely hot and so tasty , the portions were excellent,. I will definitely be eating there again as it was value for money and a great eating experience
Were overlooked for food order when we did order food staff came back and said 1 item was sold out the drink order was totally messed up when the food came out it was poor quality
Not the most expentensive menu so choice is limited and as they had stock issues with several menu items not available choices were more limited. The pub wasn't busy so would expect the service to be better and sharper.
Food supplied was OK but not brilliant. Large portions are OK but the food needs to be better.
I was pleasantly surprised with the highwayman . It was a lovely pub with a warm atmosphere and friendly bar staff . The food was delicious, with plenty if choice . I’d definitely recommend going .
Great selection on the menu and all of our meals were lovely. Service was great too!
